These guys are fantastic. Talented chef and kitchen staff. Great service. The owners are on site most of the time and their attention to detail shows.
It has been a while since we ate at the Blue Plate. In the past, we have good food, but this time was a disappointment - the schnitzel was tough and somewhat undercooked (inside the batter), and the potato salad was not as good as we remembered. The meat loaf was good, not great. The restaurant was full - it's locals' time in the valley. Not sure we will be back for a while, though.
I'd go again. An interesting and different take on things!
We were visiting from Park City and just picked Blue Plate. . We were greeted by Valerie who was welcoming and engaging. It was if we were regulars. We had a great meal and were overly pleased by the caring of the hostess and bartender/waiter. Strongly recommend.
My wife and I split the evening special a ny strip steak with black beans, peas and Brussels sprouts in an amazing sauce.Highly
Four of us had four different dinners and each of us thought they were very good to outstanding. The menu is varied and creative. I had the meat loaf and it was great. My wife had the Pollack and thought it was fantastic. Our friends had the Med Chicken and the Duck special and all agreed the meals were wonderful. We had the strawberry/rhubarb crumble and it was very good. Overall we were reminded to keep Blue Plate on our list of favorite restaurants in the Beaver Creek area.
Loved the new gondolas. They’re perfect for two people! It was great fun and helped make our anniversary most enjoyable. Thanks, Tom
The food is excellent
We ate outside in the garden
Thank you so much for taking the time to rate us, We're happy you enjoyed your dinner with us!
Pretty good. Food is nothing special, but service is ok (a bit slow considering the crowd wasn't huge), and ambiance is nice. We sat outside on a warm evening, nice setting. Our group had fish and chips and schnitzel, both good.
We're happy you enjoyed your dinner with us, and thank you for the feedback, it's always good to know what we can improve on!
Amazing food and service. We will be back next time in town.
We're happy you enjoyed your dinner with us, and thanks for taking the time to post a review!
You do inexperienced waitress gave poor service-
Dustin is rude - this is consistent- not first experience with this behavior from him - all 4 of us were offended
Blue Plate is probably our favorite place in Avon / Beaver Creek (BC). Each August we come to BC to escape the Houston heat, and we really enjoy dining at the Blue Plate. Their tapas plates as well as their sides are delicious. Some of the items we've had on our last 2 visits include the amazing hummus, the brussels sprouts, the calamari (great dipping sauce), the red lentils spread, and the ceviche. All were delicious.
Ellie, the female owner, always greets us with a smile and is very welcoming. Her husband, the other owner and head chef, Adam, can be seen regularly checking in with customers on how everything tastes. Ellie and Adam do a great job of running this restaurant that always has an interesting and delicious menu.
Thank you so much for taking the time to rate us!
OMG, sooooo good. Everything was great.
Thank you so much for your rating, We're happy you enjoyed your dinner with us!
Fish and chips were excellent. Schnitzel was good. Was missing something. Great wine list. Setting under tress was beautiful. Until, it started to rain. But they quickly moved us inside.
Thank you so much for taking the time to rate us, and we're glad you enjoyed your dinner with us!
It was our last night in Avon and it was such a great send off! Amazing food as always and the service was top notch.

Loved the pasta with wild porcini mushrooms. Large portion too! Enough for leftovers

We had the very worst server we have had while being in the Valley for 6!weeks. Have had him twice. Was hostile and contentious. Could have REALLY RUINED the incredible food but we didn’t let him.
I am sorry to hear about your experience. We normally strive to provide great customer service, and I apologize that we missed the mark with your party. We will address this issue with our staff in the hopes of improving in the future.
Great food, great people and excellent service. Especially loved the Porcini mushrooms special, Elli’s Brussel sprouts, chili, and elk terrine. Table outside under the lit trees. Dog friendly too.

Lived in Vail since 1974. Still one of my favorites. It's chef owned, which always makes a difference.
Great food, friendly staff, amazing dessert, delicious drinks and quiet ambience.
Service and food were outstanding. Eclectic menu but all diners will find a favorite. Our server was knowledgeable and asked what order did we want our tapas. Great wine list as well.
We were visiting from out of town on vacation and were looking for a good place for dinner. We were very pleased with the Blue Plate. The staff is very nice and the menu is excellent and reasonably priced. It’s good for families with smaller kids (our kids are 10 and 14) but not too noisy. Highly recommend this place and will be back one day soon.
Our food was excellent and the cozy blankets on the patio made for a perfect night!
There were great aspects to the food quality, but it was spotty. I ordered the Gai Lan. The sauce had a marvelous flavor, but the shiitake mushrooms were so undercooked they were borderline inedible. When you pay twenty-some bucks for what turned out to be a very small serving of veggies, it had better be perfect. The kitchen got backed up and we waited a long time for one of our dishes. The waiter/waitress expressed (indiscreetly) that they were afraid to approach the owner/chef and that this is why we couldn't get that dish in a timely manner.
Owner/Chef, take note: Your temper is harming the quality of the service and the quality of the workplace environment. You set the tone, so forget Iron Chef and be a mensch. Every single staff member I saw was hustling and appeared to be doing their level best. Seems to me you have a damn good crew, so treat them with kindness and respect. Everyone will go home happier - especially you!
Was told by a friend that the schnitzel was fantastic...turned out it was average at best.
Food was excellent!
The weather was not your typical first day of summer weather in Avon. Windy, cloudy, rain, ( snow down to about 8500, Avon is 7400). When we walked in were surprised that all of the staff was wearing some piece of ski wear, one in full ski suit as well as Ella the owner. She and her staff are most gracious. She even recognized us and we talked fora few minutes in the grocery store in Avon
Don’t miss it!,!
Love the veal vienerdvhnitzel
I ordered the steak medium rare, and it came out almost well done, but I ate it anyway because it had a sauce that made it better. The mushrooms served with the steak were extremely tough and rubbery, and I love mushrooms. My boyfriend got the veal schnitzel, which was kind of plain. I go to blue plate for the happy hour tapas often and am never disappointed, but I am sorry to say the dinner was disappointing. I will be back for happy hour tapas only.
Lamb shank was like rubber, fish was so so strange sides
I've been going there since they opened. The menu is very good as is the wine list. Service was impeccable. It's a great local place.
Wonderful dinner with family. Waiter was very cognizant of our 4 year old grandson and met his every need. Very much appreciated!!
Very loud. People playing movies off of iPhones and iPads. Everyone was screaming to be heard in the entire restaurant. Food was excellent.
The evening was great for my family of 4 adults and 2 youths. Loved the varied menu and reasonable prices. Recommend for anyone. Would consider their gondola dining experience on their patio is less that 4 folks.
Would recommend but overall courtesy and service could be upgraded. One waiter said our chair was in the way (even though that's how the table was set up). We then had to get up so a table could be moved. And with no thank you for doing so. And, we never heard about specials eventhough we heard our same waiter rattle them off to the table behind us. When asked about it they said they must have been out - but this table arrived after ours. We were with kids - it's Spring Break - so maybe they just didn't want to deal. Won't return.
Terrible service, mediocre and overpriced food - literally didn’t see our server the entire time from ordering to asking for the check. The place was full but didn’t seem overly busy - a separate assistant delivered courses too quickly, finished plates sat unattended. Lamb was over cooked and bland. Save your money and go next door to the wine bar - food much more flavorful and service quite attentive.
Great food and service even though it was quite a busy evening.
