I went here with my mom and husband and we all loved it. We sat out on the patio and it was so wonderful and the staff were super attentive and helpful. The food was incredible, go with what the servers recommend and you won’t go wrong! We also loved the 50% off wine and had an incredible bottle we normally wouldn’t have splurged for.
Our lunch consisted of fish tacos and fish sliders. Both were delicious. Service was great.
Food was spectacular. Drinks are uniquely delicious. My server could have been more attentive. Outside seating is tight, and because of it; a few too many flies and bugs inside such a beautiful restaurant for my liking. The atmosphere is okay. And it does get hot in there, dressing comfortably is recommended. 4/5.
The 99 cent oysters were very good. But our dinners were not. I was so excited to see chili and sea bass on the menu and even though it was $42, I ordered it. I'll bet that piece of sea bass didn't weigh 3 oz. I could not believe it. I was so disappointed. And the other two people in our party were very disappointed with their meals too one was Sallmon, and one was paella. they weren't that great and they were very small portions. I ordered a Grand Marnier after dinner. It was in the smallest snifter I have ever seen in my life and it was not warmed. None of us will go back
Wonderful lobster roll!!
The food is terrible. We paid $5 an oyster and half were inedible. A plate of fried clams was tasteless and overcooked. My companion ordered a $36 dish of paella that was like no paella I have ever seen or tasted. It was halibut baked and served on a bed of bland risotto.
I ate at Jax in Boulder the night before and it was very good approaching excellent as it is always.
The waitress told us desert was complimentary because it was my companion's birthday. And of course the desert was on the final check. Total bad experience.
Food was good but one of our party did not like the rendered chorizo fat in the halibut "paella" entry. It was comped, so NBD.
I should mention that the lack of air conditioning on an early Sunday evening made for a sweaty meal.
Our server was terrific
Great service from Brook! Our dinners were excellent as usual! Love this place!
One of our new favorites moving to CC. Great seafood, staff are great, and a great happy hour. You should go. Oh and make sure you get some chowder and the yellow curry mussels, yum!
The food and the staff were exceptionally good.
I have recommended it to friend
Excellent happy hour specials, great service and food!
Appetizers are the best deal, and outside is much better for holding a conversation. the happy hour oysters are always perfect!
Staff was extremely friendly and lobster was delicious.
Always a great experience with fresh seafood and knowledgeable staff.
Service was great. Claire was very personable and efficient. Oysters were very good per my husband who LOVES oysters. I am not an oyster lover. Happy hour food was good and somewhat different. Would definitely come back for their Monday .99/per oyster deal.
My friend Maria’s husband recently passed away in a tragic car accident. Maria used to frequent this spot with her late husband so when we picked a place for hh we decided to go choose this place! Unfortunately we had peter as our server. There were 4 of us (all women) seated at the table. You could immediately feel peter had no interest in providing good service. One friend in our party paid for our first round of drinks. We ordered several aps and cocktails. When we were finally ready to leave and got the bill we did not see where we were credited for the first round. We simply asked Peter for clarification. He got visibly angry and showed us where we had been credited and made a comment something like “it’s not my fault the computer showed it that way!! “ “ I wouldn’t do that!!!”. And stormed off. We were completely take off guard by this! Then when he brought our cards back, same friend asked if he had a pen. He responded.. “I have 2 hands and I’m not an octopus” then proceeded to hand each of the 4 of us a pen. It is not ok for customers to be treated this way. I was with a friend whose husband just passed away and another who has been away for 2 months. Horrible service and I plan to speak to the manager. I am very upset by the entire experience.
I am a Long Island native. This place reminds me of home. The seafood is ultra-fresh and cooked the same way as many clam bars on LI. Servers are friendly and attentive. The Sunday happy hour was a great bonus as we got to try several items and take advantage of the 40% discount on wines-by-the glass.
Enjoyed a lovely girls' night here, and we absolutely loved all of our food, drinks, as well as the service. We ended up ordering "tapas style" so that we could share and try more items from the menu, including the shrimp cocktail, steamed mussels, roasted oysters, grilled Spanish octopus, and roasted asparagus - Each item was absolutely delicious. We also each ordered a glass of champagne followed by a cocktail (Jessie's Girl and a dirty martini), which were lovely as well.
Our waiter was professional and friendly, and never made us feel rushed. We had a fantastic time and will definitely be back.
Excellent service, food and ambiance. We will be back!
We had a delightful meal outdoors. The service was great and the food delicious. It was pretty pricey, but very enjoyable.
Everything was great. Love the smile trout dip In calamari. Some of the best I’ve ever had.
First time to Blue Island, overall it was a good experience. Food was great. Had nice red wine. I will try it again.
Honestly, for some of the best oysters and lobster roll, this place is fantastic. Some other great dishes and overall quality for value is outstanding. Casual and inviting.
Service is really great! Very friendly and courteous. Food is good. The only draw back is too noisy and tables are very closed to each other. No privacy at all
Hostess was rude as well as the manager. Mussels were very small amd not a great sauce. I would not go there again.
Great place to eat and hang out . It was mid week so I beat the rush
Lobster mac and cheese was great- not too rich, not over-seasoned. I added a little bit of sriracha sauce on the side to mine. Four friends had fish slider, fish n' chips, a beef salad and brussel sprouts and everyone said their meals were good.
Love the place. But it is awfully noisy.
Great service, great food, definitely best happy hour around!
Fresh outstanding seafood. Would be here all the time if I lived in Denver.
Outstanding food and service, but a bit too expensive for the product.
Food was terrific. Wait staff good. Service was slow toward the end…removing plates. The music for a late Sunday afternoon was a bit loud. PLEASE get espresso drinks. Not being able to have a great cup of coffee at the end of the meal is disappointing.
Will definitely be back!
My husband and I choice this for are 2 year anniversary and it was amazing all the way around
The restaurant is vibrant, interior is well designed. Our service was wonderful & friendly. Now let's talk about the food... The oysters were fabulous! However, the entrees were terrible. My man ordered the halibut which he never does, but we figured it's a seafood restaurant so it should be on point. It came out a small, flat filet of some white fish, he couldn't even tell what kind it was overcooked in old oil & way over salted. The parmesan potatoes didn't taste fresh & were overbrowned. I had the blackened scallops which tasted like a bottle of landrys seasoning salt was dumped on them, I sent them back requesting the grilled scallops & they were WAY over sauced & salted as well. The bill was nothing to cough at either. It was a disappointing dining experience. Champagne & oysters maybe, but the entrees were a big turn off.
Blue Island has a great happy hour which we only got to enjoy part of. I would recommend their happy hour as it makes the prices then seem fair. Regular dinner is a little pricey for what it is. Lots of heavy fried options. Not a ton of lighter fresh fish. Shrimp cocktail, oysters are about it. Plain prepared fish is good but again served with heavier potato side. Service was very slow, inattentive and a little sloppy. Our waitress moved really slowly but was also not in a huge hurry to get drink orders, etc. Not bad service, just not great which for $500 I think it should be a little better. I’m not expecting fine dining but I wasn’t at a clam shack either yet the service felt a little lax and slow. Bussers we’re good. Stick to shrimp cocktail, lobster roll, smoked trout. Fried clams as the starter are good. Scallops are expensive for what they are - $32 for 3 small scallops. Happy hour oysters were ok. A little puny. Place seems to clear out after happy hour so clearly that’s their strength but a regular diner shouldn’t feel gouged so I would recommend Blue Island work on their pricing and having lighter options on the menu especially in the summer. Otherwise Blue Island seems like a “bait and switch”. Pun intended. :)
Ben was awesome
Great food, the service was a bit slow but the food made up for it.
Fantastic food, service & ambiance!
My family was in from out of town and I wanted to take them somewhere special and fun for our last dinner. I knew seafood could be tricky because these folks are from Nola which can set the bar high for seafood. But the food was great! The service was impeccable! Our server, Hope did a fabulous job! I can’t wait to go back again.
