The Black Pig With White Pearls is an authentic Spanish tapas bar nestled between the hustle and bustle of Dalston and the village-like atmosphere of Stoke Newington. Specialising in Iberico, meat they seek to source only the best quality, fresh Iberico pork from farmers in Spain, which is used in their generous servings of tapas. Starting out as a one-off pop-up restaurant, they've come a very long way since their humble beginnings. Not many pop-ups enjoy the longevity that The Black Pig has had to become an established restaurant.
The name “Black Pig”comes from the meat used. Black in colour, the Iberico pig can be found in the southern regions of Spain. Head chef David is Spanish born and bred, hailing from the town of Extremadura you can't get more authentic than that. The “White Pearls” part comes from a beautiful painting of a pig that David and his partner Melvin found on their travels in India. The painting can be found adorning the grey wall of the restaurant.

On Tuesday night we enjoyed another lovely meal and romantic evening here at our favourite local restaurant in N16. BPWP is a wonderful intimate, friendly, unusual place serving beautifully prepared, innovative food. At once experimental yet utterly reliable in quality the menu is inspired. The service is great (thanks Melvin) and the prices are very fair. David has recently acquired an ice cream machine and is busy this summer creating new flavours. Tonight: Strawberry and black pepper ice cream - divine. This restaurant is highly recommended!!

Local gem sums it up. Average to very good tapas depends on dish but in a stylish dark little bolt hole with GREAT staff. Four times so far all decent meals at reasonable prices . Follow on with cocktails at Fontaines the Art Deco cocktail bar across the road for a cool Stokey night out

Had been meaning to go to this restaurant for the 4 years I lived in Stoke Newington and finally got round to it on the night I moved out of the area!! A really lovely little tapas restaurant - the special truffled croquetas and the iberico pork were phenomenal. Highly recommended.

One of the best tapas restaurants in London. A great vibe, super friendly staff, well executed food with lots of unusual specials. Clever wine list. Brilliant.

Really nice tapas. The food is amazing and served in good quantity. We went on Valentine’s night and the team was busy. Unfortunately we had to ask twice for our desserts. Apart from that the staff is lovely and really friendly.
