The Black Hat Cattle Co. is the place to go if you are in the mood for a dining experience that goes beyond its great food. Our western decor beckons you with music, laughter, conversation; warm hospitality - hang your hat and stay awhile! If you love 100% natural premium cuts of beef, this steakhouse is the place for you. Our steaks are aged a minimum of 21 days; our bone-in steaks are dry aged in-house, and hand cut daily to maximize flavor and tenderness. We season our steaks with only salt and pepper and grill them at a searing 1800 degrees so you can taste the difference in our all natural beef. If you don't like beef, this is the place for you too. We offer a diverse menu including chicken dishes and a variety of tempting fresh fish and seafood entrees. We go beyond the obvious quality of food and drink - we embrace the welcoming spirit of the West.
This place is great! The food was pricey but well worth it
We have gone here a few times and very had any problems. The service was extremely slow! We sat for 40 min before the server acknowledged us then everything was in steps.
2 families brought their very young kids...very loud and distracting.

We were celebrating a friend's birthday and could not have been more pleased with the restaurant, staff and food. We have been to several steak places in Colorado and had given up on finding a decent steak until we went to Black hat Cattle Co. I would highly recommend and will be coming back again soon.

This is a great place. My wife and I went on our 29th anniversary, which was a Sunday night and they were not that busy. The food was great! I had the NY Strip medium rare and it was fantastic! My wife had the butcher cut steak salad and she loved it. We had a great time, with a great table and phenomenal service. We cannot wait to go back.
All the food was delicious and the steaks were great plus Michelle was an excellent waitress and made us feel right at home!
Our evening at Black Hat was wonderful, as usual! We both ordered steaks and they were cooked to perfection. Service was great and wine was well priced. Thank you!

I have been going to Black Hat now for many years, it's a wonderful steak house! the food is ALWAYS good, the steaks are awesome and the service is always great. We love the Early dining menu, as well as the regular menu. I've never had a bad meal or bad service. The owner Dave is always friendly as is ALL of his staff. Denise makes great martini's. :)

It is a very nice restaurant and has a very nice atmosphere. One thing, which I know that was instituted a while back, but I don't think that a table should have to ask for bread/rolls to have them on the table. Other than that, food was great and the waiter was excellent!
We had a great experience here at the early bird special. Our server Matt was very professional and had a good sense of humor which enhanced our dining experience. The owner was present and we enjoyed a nice conversation about the business.
I thought the food was very good, especially the bread pudding, and was plentiful. We enjoyed the country music.

Great atmosphere. Rib eye cooked to perfection (not sure it was prime). Matt, our waiter, was attentive and knowledgeable. Overall a really nice dining experience.
We’ve been here many times before and it has always been wonderful but Sunday night the steaks were less flavorful though tender and properly prepared. The baked potatoes were undercooked and hard. The mashed potatoes were lumpy and just warm, not hot. The vegetables were over cooked and a bit mushy. We a party of four celebrating two anniversaries and were quite disappointed.
Wonderful as always, my favorite restaurant.

We had a party of six on Sat., Aug. 17th for my husband’s birthday. We were really looking forward to the evening. We were seated in the nice private wine room. It went downhill from there. Our waitress failed to bring us bread and delayed bringing us menus or drinks while she chatted with a waiter. She barely spent any time at our table and apologized no less than four times for neglecting us. She said the bar was busy and she had to help with the drinks for the restaurant. Really??? What about your tables? The food was very good but the service negated anything positive about it. It’s unfortunate because we live in Conifer and would have gone back but not now. We will not recommend them either.

...maybe just a bit pricey, but we'll be back.
Celebrated our 56th wedding anniversary at Black Hat. Delightful. Special. Delicious. Quiet and elegant. We felt like we had really celebrated and were celebrated by the staff. Thank you for a memorable evening.

This was my fourth dinner at Black Hat. Love the food and everything about it. My JOJOs were not as crispy as I usually like them but they were still delish.
Amazing tender steaks. Don’t even think about putting A1 or ketchup on them. Service was perfect. A great restaurant for our anniversary. Have recommended it over and over.
Food not of the excellence one would expect in a restaurant this nice and of the prices paid. Loud country music made it difficult to talk with my wife.
This is one of Denver's best steak houses which seems surprising since it is located in a little town like Kittredge, CO. The steaks are excellent, grass fed. And don't forget to ask about their cuts of the day. I also enjoyed the creamed spinach.
Here are a couple of ideas. They have an outstanding patio area but are not using it. I know the early summer was a little wet, but hey, it is really summer now. Also they need a better selection of beers. Ok, so maybe it is not worth having draft on tap, but there are much better options for bottled beer than I saw on the menu. Also make a side salad a side. It is the perfect match for a steak and you shouldn't have to pay extra.
Beef had steroids, sides were not that great. Waitress padded the ticket with extra charges not on the menu. Beware.
The bar service was extremely slow...the $38 NY strip steak was on the small side of the 12 Oz offered and contained a lot of gristle. It might have been worth $19...these together with the lackluster service sadly made for a very mediocre dinner.
We really enjoy Black Hat. Been there many times. The comfy cowboy decor is delightful. You just can't bbeat their high quality beef.
Always get great service, and the food is ALWAYS GOOD
