Not surprisingly the food here is excellent. But even before I tasted the food I was drawn to the cozy, outdoor seating. On this occasion we ate inside. Staff very knowledgeable and friendly. I would highly recommend.
Food and ambiance were good. Sat outside on a beautiful night and celebrated a friend's birthday who was visiting from Texas. No complaints.
Always delicious bistro cuisine. Lovely, quiet patio. Reliable food, service and ambiance.
Delicious food in a charming atmosphere. It was the highlight of our Denver visit.
Great food. Great menu. Beautiful courtyard. Good service.
Beautiful setup and very nice atmosphere. However the food was not very good. The halibut I had was over seasoned with lemon and pepper and not enjoyable to eat and the vegetables on the plate were drenched in lemon to the point of being almost inedible. I don’t mind lemon flavor but it was like eating pure lemon. My husbands lamb was saved by being so sparsely seasoned it was more enjoyable but no skill in applying a little salt. Otherwise service and ambiance were lovely.
Bistro Vendome is my go-to French restaurant in Denver. The food is great and the ambiance is even better. They have great steak and a variety of other things on their menu. I wish they would change their menu every so often, though, as it has been the same for quite a few years. Overall, a Denver gem.
Bistro Vendome never fails! Service was attentive but not intrusive, food was delicious. We had a nice table on the patio.
I ordered lamb medium, it came well done. Sent back. back medium but hard as a rock. My wife ordered the halibut and it came over cooked and very dry.
This wasn’t our first visit
We loved the atmosphere at Bistro Vendome. The wine list and specials were delightful. The one request we have to for the wait people to be more knowledgeable about gluten free options. They seemed to lacking on the menu.
Outstanding service with great French cuisine. Staff is very attentive without being intrusive. Offers a variety of Continental dishes, including vegetarian option.
The duck confit was outstanding and the halibut delicious. Server was a little inattentive, but the beautiful patio, great food, and the weather more than made up for him.
Always enjoy brunch when I’m in town
Perfect for before theater, special occasion dining. We appreciated our waitperson asking us if we were on a schedule or just wanting a relaxed pace for the courses to be served. This is an experience we look forward to repeating and will even drive the two hours just for dinner without theater tickets! Well done in all aspects from appetizers, wine selection to our chocolate souffle ad french pressed coffee for dessert!
We enjoyed the patio setting after a theater matinee on Saturday. The beet salad was wonderful. Scallops were good, flavorful and well prepared, but the serving was meager. Creme brulee was delicious as always.
We had dinner at Bistro Vendome before going to see the musical “Beautiful” . The ambiance was fantastic, cozy and very charming - just the right amount of noise and activity to feel like it was a bustling place but not loud. It was very easy to carry on a conversation. The menu had a variety of interesting dishes and it was hard to choose! We ended up getting the mussles and the crepe au pouket to start and then two of our party chose the steak frites, my daughter had the halibut and I ordered the duck. Everything we ordered was delicious! I would caution anyone ordering the Steak frites to know that medium rare is really extremely rare but it was still excellent. The duck was perfectly cooked; tender but with crispy skin just the way I like it. The only negative at all was a lackluster waiter. He had no personality and seemed as if he were indifferent to our presence. He did not seem to match up to the food or the ambiance. It took longer than we anticipated to get our entrees after we finished the appetizers but he did not stop by to check in and update us on what was holding things up. We had a great meal in spite of the waiter (he became just a backdrop) and we made it to the musical on time so everything turned out well. The food and atmosphere overcame the lackluster waiter!
Engagement proposal dinner
My favorite Denver restaurant. Service is outstanding-consistently. Servers know their food and their wines. Appreciated the birthday dessert!
I felt transported to Paris when I came here on vacation in Denver. The menu is completely authentic, the wine list is excellent, and the staff were a delight. I ended up coming back multiple times during my stay. What a gem!
Every dish was a pleasant surprise
Well balanced, good technique, fresh ingredients and overall delicious
Mussels and frys always good. Service was poor. Not given happy hour pricing and when mentioned mussels adjusted but not frys. We’re not told mussels no longer include frys. Menu pricing on open table far different than restaurant.
Sitting outside, there were some foul odors, I assume from the alley behind the patio wall. That would be my only complaint.
One of my favorite restaurants in Denver. Consistently excellent food, service, and ambiance!
Out of town guest treat.
The wine paring suggested by our server was perfect! Great place to celebrate our anniversary.
What a disappointment, I would call this a FRAUD and not a restaurant. From dirty dishes with lipstick on all of our vine glasses to Meat that you couldn’t cut with knife (all fat) all of our 9 main dishes and is were terrible.
Manager apologized for not having real chief in the restaurant for months. We spent over $500. Everyone was disappointed and none of our friends will ever go back.
The service was incredible—our server was spot on for every question and request about the menu. The food was delicious and we had a lovely table outside on their patio.
Our server was virtually absent during the entire meal except to take our order, sell us dessert and bring the check. Not once did she refill our water or refill our wine. Our steaks were cooked correctly, but were room temperature. The frites were saturated in some sort of champagne-honey sweet syrup. We had a bottle of Bordeaux and the wine steward or sommelier (not sure) was extremely indifferent and stated he didn’t have any knowledge of the wine he opened for us. When he asked how my taste was, he began pouring before I’d even answered. Finally, we had the featured dessert, a Pavlova that was a disgrace. It was marshmallowy and flat and completely covered in a thick overly sweet compote. We will not be back.
The food was amazing! The service was SLOW. It took 20 minutes to get our drinks after we ordered them. We were there for a total of 3 hours. Just with appetizers and a main course. Apologized for the delay with every single item he brought us. Not impressed by service at ALL! Slow, unorganized, servers are spacey.
A long-time favorite for its well-prepared and presented food.
The food and ambiance is excellent. I would highly recommend.
Food was reasonably good, if overpriced.
Server was generally unfriendly.
Patio was pleasant .
great location just off the street. Features both indoor and outdoor dining in a small courtyard. The food is creative and we all enjoyed our brunch. What makes it special is the location. I would certainly recommend Bistro Vendome and we plan on dining there in the future
Great restaurant with excellent food. The owners have several other restaurants in the area that are equally successful. If the weather is nice, the patio cannot be beat.
The male host was not interested at all in trying to help my group find seating outside. It was before 7 o’clock and we were a party of 6 with reservation inside. I had called earlier in the day and Sharon was wonderful and said if I got there early I could ask and try to make changes if I wanted to wait. But when I arrived the tall male host wearing glasses was not helpful. We asked if he knew approximately how long it might take two tables to free up and he said there is no way to ever even know that. He didn’t even attempt to look at who might be done eating. It was very clear he wasn’t even interested in helping us. This was my first time here and it was for my birthday, I was very disappointed. Our waitress was also wonderful but the service was extremely slow. Food was delicious but getting took a very long time, same with wine it took forever to get our drinks.
This French restaurant is great for dining when you are going to the Buell Theatre. Very close by.
The food was just fair. Escargot was watery. The duck was very small portion and and dry.
Lamb small portion and a little bit fatty.
The French Fries were delicious.
The dessert was very small and tasteless. ( Apple Tort)
There are so many other great restaurants in Denver near the theatre and we will not go back for some time.
Service was good.
Excellent experience, complete with perfectly prepared cuisine and very knowledgeable staff.
I've been searching for a great French place and I think this will be my go-to and recommended restaurant in Denver!
The food is tasty, the prices are fair, and the service is fabulous!
I ordered the escargot and French onion soup for starters. The escargot was so buttery and garlic-y and perfection in all the ways escargot should be! The French onion soup was also delish. Melty cheese is always a win in my book.
Both the bf and I ordered the steak frites. He ordered the classique and I got the au poivre. Both were fabulous and perfectly cooked. The fries are seasoned with something similar to crack because I could not stop eating them!!! The aioli they came with was also delicious. I would go back just to eat those fries!!
For dessert, we got a chocolate soufflé on the house because it was my birthday! Delicious and so light and fluffy. Yum.
The service was impeccable. Our server was so friendly and knowledgeable! I highly recommend this place if you're craving some French style cuisine.
Nothing but outstanding things to say about this place, hidden gem in downtown Denver.
So hidden that we sat outside 100 ft away from the closest street and never heard a single car.
Food was best in Denver and authentic
It was delicious and wonderful!
