Duck confit was quite good. A little dry, but excellent flavor. My wife thought her Salmon was a little salty. These are minor complaints and we’ll be back.
We were seated as soon as we arrived. Food was quite tasty and service very good.
Seat was dirty with food crumbs, I had to brush it off myself while the hostess stood there and watched me. The “Basque Cheesecake “ was NOT a basque cheesecake, it was just a regular cheesecake, not bad but not as listed on the menu.
A consistently good venue Pleasant location with
free parking and great ambience
This has been one of our favorites. We usually go on Sunday nights, when they have a special all inclusive Sunday night supper. This past week, Chef Greg Martin outdid himself with a very tender skirt steak, cut into strips and blended with a delicious creamy polenta. The desserts are always good, as is the ala carte menu, and the cask wines are excellent. All for an affordable and special evening with friends. Free parking just a few steps from the restaurant.
Bistro Menil offers quiet dinning and wonderful food within the city but you feel as if you are away at some quite resort because the beauty of the Menil campus
An absolutely stellar experience. Low key, relaxed atmosphere, gorgeous good, friendly and attentive staff. Couldn't ask for more, will definitely return.
Really enjoyed Vermouth cocktail and crab cake bites.
An old community favorite. Delightful for lunch, sometimes a bit noisy, but good food and good
The setting was nice and food was great.
We were hosting a friend from Scotland and wanted to take her to the Menil so lunching at the Bistro was perfect. The service was great and the food was delicious— she was delighted by the crab cakes.
Very nice menu and wine selection. Salmon added to salad was perfectly done to my specifications. Even easy parking.
First time there. Wonderful. We sat at the bar for lunch. Great unhurried service and yummy food! Will go again when in town!
The lump crab salad was amazing.
Food and service was OUTSTANDING
This was our last dining experience at Bistro Menil. We have patronized it many times over the last few years, but lately it has gone from good to below mediocre. Yesterday the crab crepes were simply not good at all - not tasty, not well-prepared, with little sauce. If we hadn't been dining with friends for a special occasion I would have sent them back. There have been other fails in recent visits - overcooked duck confit, very skimpy caviar on the eggs a la Julia, under-sauced dishes, blah quiche, etc. Service is usually very good and attentive. It's a lovely venue, but a shame about the lack of attention to the food.
The crepes were so delicious. Truffle pizza was also wonderful. But the lemon tart was the perfect ending to the meal. Always love dining here.
Everything was excellent as usual! We will be back.
Will be calling Greg Martin as our experience was fair from our usual excellent food and service for the past 10 years
Always enjoy our visits to Bistro Menil. The servers are welcoming, friendly and efficient. The menu is sufficiently broad to appeal to most people. Love their wine list!
I’ve always come for lunch on weekends and the food is fantastic. Dinner was poor and the prices are high. Literally lunch and dinner at Bistro Menil are like day and night. No pun intended.
The salmon salad with avocado and citrus is excellent.
I don’t understand noise level
It was good. Thank you all so much
New year family lunch
This has become one of my favorite restaurants. I especially like that it has a brunch menu on Friday.
Everything we ordered was awesome! Great spot for all types of appetites!
Wonderful New Years Day dinner with family. Consistently delicious food.
Bistro Menil is one of my favorite restaurants. Order anything, it's all delicious!
New Years dinner was very nice. Food and wine pairing was very good. Food tastes were great.
I brought my mom here - she lives in Manhattan and is used to the wonderful restaurants there. She was blown away by Bistro Menil! Wonderful menu and I am so thankful for all the gluten free options!!
Great place for a quiet dinner. The food was delicious. However, someone in our port party ordered lamb chops for $30 and we got two tiny lamb chops. They were delicious but not enough food for the price. Our waitress did not tell us the specials and when we questioned her about it, she said “It’s on the board” No apology. She had a bad attitude. Overall, great place but expensive for the amount of food you get. The waitress was terrible.
We had afternoon tea for my mother’s 70th. It was lovely. We requested a window seat overlooking the Menil’s lawn. The tea service was a great value and delicious food. If they add clotted cream and scones - it’ll feel even more authentic. But overall it was delish. She loved it. I’d visit again for it! Great service too. Thanks Aaron.
We have had afternoon tea here for my Mother’s Birthday for many years now.
When we arrived, hostess informed me that she didn’t have our reservation. She spoke with manager who “approved” so we were seated. Our server was ok. He brought our food without taking our tea order so I flagged him down to ask if we could order tea.
Not our best visit to Bistro Menil : /
Wonderful food & ambience.
At lunch time the light from the large windows is so refreshing. A first class restaurant without exhorbitant prices.
Not a good menu for vegetarians....only veggie starters. Lovely setting and good service.
Consistently good. Great place for lunch or dinner.
Wonderful food delivered in a very artful manner. Bistrot Menil reflects The Menil Collection.
Chicken and artichoke crepes were divine. Only problem was the noise level.
Never disappoints. Wonderful eggplant fries and crab cakes!
