Overall, it was very easy to make a reservation, & my party were seated quickly. Food was great, a bit pricey tho. Staff were very kind & attentive.
Waiter was great. Nice to sit outside.
Great food and ambiance!
Always a “go to” for a client lunch!
The lack of good service was the biggest issue.
Some of the items we ordered were tasty; others, not up to the hype. We will try again as I've heard many good things.
Bistro Menil is lovely. Fun food options and a good variety for varied diets. The space is lovely.
We have gone to this delightful restaurant regularly for the last 5 or 6 years, and it never disappoints us. Friendly staff, great food, and delicious wines.
Lovely place for lunch with friends! The food is delicious! Our server was so attentive and made sure our iced tea was icy on this hot April day. He had great recommendations, too! The goat cheese fondue appetizer is remarkable! We also had the eggplant fries.
Very, very good! Should have stopped there, but went on to have a lump crab meat and mushroom crepe! Definitely should have shared that plate as it was too much food after the appetizers! Highly recommend!
The food was so great and the patio great - the only suggestion I would make is we kept getting wafts of natural gas over at our table from something behind the fence. I would figure out what that was and cordon it off so it doesn't drift onto diners, etc/
They put us outside at the table in the corner. The weather was perfect. Thank you so much for making my birthday celebration just right! Food was the best!
Delightful brunch on the patio for Easter. It was perfect!
Fantastic outdoor Sunday brunch location with great food.
Easter brunch was great. The food was excellent. It came out hot and quickly. It was a great time as we dined al fresco.
Excellent, as always!! Will come here often! Thanks!
Always excellent, creative and fresh cuisine including desert. Our favorite spot for lunch. Super reliable and attention to detail.
Gathered outside for a beautiful dinner with family! Food was outstanding!
We ate outside and the weather was perfect and tables were nicely spaced.
It was a perfect place to take an out of town friend for lunch or dinner. Great variety of unique flavor combinations - one must always return to try some other delicious entree. The wait staff was excellent, never had to wave them over. Highly recommend, I want to have an Afternoon Tea there next.
Wonderful in every way. Superb food.
Love love love my neighborhood bistro!!
Ate on the front terrace, lovely day. La Farra Prosecco. Could have stayed all afternoon.
It is a very nice place in an amazing environment. we were in the patio and enjoyed every minute of it. The food is very good and the owner was very attentive. It is obvious they want to really do things well and translate it into their Mediterranean dishes. Recommended.
This is one of my favorite indoor/outdoor restaurants ! There is a wonderful variety of entrees and sides and you can carry on a conversation! It has been wonderful reconnecting with friends over a delightful lunch!
It was an outstanding al fresco dining experience! You can walk around outside the Menil or better yet, tour the amazing gallery. The pizza and duck confit were worth the calories. We recommend the Malbec from the cask - nice to be able to have a half carafe.
Food was tasty and high quality and well prepared. Patio seating was nice and quiet area. Service was slow at the end of the evening but was others good. I will go back.
food was great....... service not so great xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
What makes the Bistro Menil a special place to dine is it's location on the grounds of the Menil Museum. I was there for a late lunch on a beautiful cool, but sunny spring day. My friend and I choose to eat inside near a window looking out on the patio dining area. The food and service was very good. The Bistro Menil is observing Pandemic guidelines and the tables were spaced a sufficient distance apart. Staff wore masks as did customers except when eating. I would recommend the Bistro Menil for it's ambience, food, and care for customers and staff during the pandemic.
Make reservations early and specify indoor or outdoors table.
Bistro Menil always has excellent food and service. My favorite place to go for a special occasion.
This is a great place to have a nice lunch, brunch, or dinner with a couple of friends or your loved one. Excellent service.
Lovely lunch! Appropriately socially distanced tables. Friendly, kind servers.
I will be going back very soon!
great ambience and fantastic and delicious food!
Very courteous staff!
Great service, great patio
Great food!
Highly recommended
Made a reservation a week in advance for a table outside. When we arrived, it was a bit warm, so we asked to be seated inside. No one was seated inside. When I asked for two different tables, I was told they were reserved—even though they had no reserved sign and many of the tables outside had the signs. We were told they were for “people who come in often and know to ask for table 7 or 35.” The dining room remained mostly empty for 30-45 minutes. When a couple came in much later — they were seated at one of the tables we requested, and I understood them to say they didn’t have a reservation. And an hour later, the same at the other. Perhaps we didn’t fit the image the hostess was looking for in filling the “desired” tables, but it didn’t feel very good. Our server was excellent and the food was very good.
I don’t visit this restaurant but 4-5 times a year, but always make a reservation, and to this point, have enjoyed everything about the place. This visit changed the overall feel for me.
First lunch out in over a year. So good to be back at Bistro Menil. Excellent food and top flight service. Thank you for a perfect experience.
Always a lovely experience at Bistro Menil. We visited the Rothko Chapel and the Menil Collection first. Grateful for the staff setting up an umbrella for us on a beautiful sunny day.
Excellent atmosphere and food! Love the menu. Enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and the patio is lovely.
I took a friend for high tea to celebrate her birthday and we both enjoyed the experience and the food. Very nice presentation and everything was delicious.
As usual, the service was superb and the food was excellent. My go-to is the seared lemon thyme chicken which is always amazing and tender! I love the cold zucchini salad and mashed potatoes as sides. My friend ordered the lump crab salad and it was presented beautifully and she said it was awesome! You cannot go wrong at Bistro Menil...it is beautiful, quiet, the hostess and servers are friendly and courteous and the food is great!
Nice ambience and very friendly service !!!!!!!
Good food
