We appreciated being able to eat outside during the Covid shutdown. The service was just a tiny bit slower than usual probably due to the new protocol. The food was outstanding as always. When my wine wasn’t perfect, it was readily replaced. Can’t wait to go back.
My favorite restaurant. Excellent food and ambiance.
Wonderful birthday meal with family. We adore this bistro and it’s our go to authentic French restaurant in SD!
We are delighted that Bistro back to Moules Frite. The mussels are fabulous and the sauce they are served in could stand on its own with the absolutely delicious bread Bistro is known for. The young man behind the bar (I think his name was Adam) was friendly, solicitous and made our meal a very pleasant experience.
Everything is magnificent and superlative here: the food exquisitely prepared; the display on the plate always looks like a fine work or art; and the staff are all very knowledgeable about the food.
Fine food, fine service amid proper social distancing. The Faroe Island salmon entree, with creamed baby spinach and fingerling potato, is especially tasty.
Enjoyed our experience. They seated us at a table outside, per our request. Waiter was personable. Menu had risotto with sea scallops. I love risotto, do not care for scallops. Waiter suggested doing the risotto with the salmon. Perfect! It was the best risotto I have tasted in a long time. Rich, flavorful sauce with peas, and other veggies. The food here is always excellent.
Wonderful as always (but I do like the old location better) The food is still superb!
I had a great time celebrating my birthday. It was busy for a Monday night. Food and service were top notch!
We enjoyed an evening that began with Brie in toast points with shaved black truffle and mussels followed by a delicious fresh cod entree and Coq au Vin - the service was great!
We don't eat at French Bistro's often but this was our second time at this Bistro. I had the Carbonara/truffle special and my husband went with the traditional Cassoulet. Both were delicious, served hot and paired with a great french wine. Delish, fresh, crusty bread was carb worthy. The mushroom appetizer and Pate were also spot on. Our server was attentive and appeared very knowledgeable about the menu and wine list. We will return.
Wonderful, as always! We were celebrating 2 birthdays & could not have been more perfect. Thank you.
Wilson was a great bartender and helped us pick out some wonderful food. We will return.
Better than expected, the service was outstanding and the food so delicious. I will come back.
Always a pleasure eating there for any occasion. Warm and cozy, great food and good service. Thank you
They seem to open the front doors as the evening goes by and the restaurant becomes like a refrigerator -- freezer. Then can't wait to get out of there. Not first time it happens to me.
Wonderful food as always at one of our favorite spots in La Jolla, but this time, the service slipped a bit. A glass of wine arrived 15 minutes after being ordered and I had to ask twice for a knife for my entree after mine had been removed when my appetizer plate was cleared. Unusual glitch.
excellent place to celebrate a BD!
loved it all and recommend it highly
Tasty but small dinner plates, great desert, expensive.
Good food and service.
We started with the Lobster Bisque and the Endive Salad and both were delicious. Our entrees were the Lobster Special which was wonderful - Maine lobster on a bed of perfectly cooked white corn in a nicely flavored light foam, and another special for the night - a beautiful piece of Cod with a tasty sauce. A very nice evening!
Meeting family and friends for Sunday brunch, our group of five had not previously been here and found the menu, service, and setting great. We especially appreciated the noise level where we could listen to one another without shouting.
Bistro du Marche is our favorite restaurant in La Jolla. It never disappoints. Hadrian and the entire staff are a joy and provide an atmosphere of grace and welcome. And the food is, in a word, superb.
Wet nice Valentine’s Day menu offering. Great service and excellent quiet evening.
Love this restaurant. The food is delicious and the ambiance delightful. I highly recommend this restaurant
Food was quite good but service was bad. Had to ask for more bread several times. Haricot Vert, always available before, could not be ordered as a side dish...never had this happen before... Bill was quite expensive for what we had. An exception was the wine (a Paso Robles Cabernet) which was well priced and good...
Beautifully prepared meal with wonderful flavor. Very pleasant wait staff. When the restaurant is full, the noise level is high; it would benefit from fewer hard surfaces. However, the food and the decor more than make up for the loudness. The best steak-frites this side of France.
We love the food at Bistro du Marche and have always had good service until this last visit. I hope this was just an off day and that it doesn't continue to be the norm. We wanted to order dessert but it took the waitress ten minutes just to bring us the menu. There were plenty of servers and it wasn't particularly busy so I'm not sure what took so long. We were so annoyed we ended up just laying the bill and going somewhere else for dessert.
BEST STEAK AU POIVRE IN SAN DIEGO, WILL BE BACK, THANK YOU
I liked our waitress, nothing bad, would go get the snails again
We really enjoyed our Saturday evening meal at busy Bistro Marché in La Jolla. From the classic pate appetizer to the petite Basque cheese, everything was nicely presented and delicious. This restaurant never misses a beat.
The sauce used on two roasted meat dishes we had was not savory. Did it lack salt, pepper, or what? Just flavorless.
Each of the four of us ordered something different, but we all claimed that it was the best version we’d ever had. We loved it and will return often.
Always a treat - best in town. The scallops, risotto were excellent.
:You can be assured to have a lovely meal.
New adventure, great night! A fun night out! Staff did well with the extra people who showed up for restaurant week...
The best food and incredible service! Absolutely my most favorite restaurant in town.
Great food with large portions. Very busy night during restaurant week led to inconsistent service. I hate having a course served before the previous course is finished. Wine glasses were empty several times.
