   Great service and food. The restaurant accomodated without fuss, the fact that our group came at different times and more arrived than expected.

   We popped in for mid afternoon brunch. It was easy to book a table online. Really nice food, which you could tell was freshly made/cooked. It was a little bit cold in there but it is December! I would definitely recommend Ben's Canteen

   good food but poor service. waitress kept leaning over people and picking up their drinks to see if they were empty and then putting them back

   Food was delicious! I had the chicken salad. Cocktails were lovely but a bit pricey. A little bit dark down the back for a lovely sunny day, but would be cosy at night.

   I went due to the number of gluten free options, but they use the same frier so they aren't actually gluten free. The burger was nice but I couldn't have chips. The waiting staff didnt seem to want us to pay either - we had to ask twice to pay, and then they forgot one person.

   My friend and I met up at Bens canteen with her toddler daughter and my 2 year old twin granddaughters. I couldn’t get the double buggy through the door and ended up removing my granddaughters and semi collapsing the buggy to get it through the doorway. No one offered to help. Once seated with a cup of tea we asked to see the childrens menu to be told they didn’t have one. As this was one of the reasons we chose Ben’s I was very surprised and looked online. Sure enough they had the children’s menu online. We queried with the server and he went away to ask and they agreed to make fishfingers and chips for the girls from the kids menu. The food was nice enough and reasonably priced. Found the layout quite cluttered especially with other pushchairs there. Getting to the toilet wasn’t easy either. No assistance again when I left. Luckily I had my friend to watch my granddaughters whilst I squeezed the pushchair through the door. Would not be suitable for wheelchair users

   Odd experience. Had eaten here for dinner some time ago which was good so booked for lunch for 4 people. Food came out within minutes of ordering, no time between drinks and food meant our lunch was over in literally 25 minutes. Both waitresses seemed confused, one was particularly vacant when asking for a desert menu, then returned to say they had run out of desert, seemed a bit odd for 1255 on a Sunday. Headed elsewhere for drinks to continue our lunch date. Such a shame as the food is really quite good, just an odd dining experience. Won’t be returning.

    I want to like this place however it’s this is the second time I have been and I won’t be returning, the service isn’t great the staff do the bare minimum of taking orders and taking away plates not even asking if everything was okay, we had to go up to pay out bill on leaving as there was no one around to ask for it and it was about half full so it wasn’t busy. Food is disappointing it just didn’t taste great can’t put my finger on what it was. And to top it all off it is so expensive for what it is adding a 12.5% service charge for such basic service is really a kick in the teeth.
