Beausoleil Costal Cuisine
Don’t sit 4 people having dinner at a cocktail high top in the bar. It gets cramped very quickly.
Wonderful! Delicious food and great service. Highly recommend!
Birthday dinner. I think this will become a go to place for great meals. Food is great, wait staff are great and restaurant is neat. The new outside area is great when the weather allows.
Second visit. The menu is ever changing and evolving. The ladies in the group decided to eat appetizers and small plates. They had a great time. We men went for the steak. Cooked to a great temperature and moist.
Visited twice and everything was great both times. Cannot wait for a return visit.
Tried three additional side dishes. All spectacular. Have tried them all now. Combine two for a nice lunch.
Food was pretty disappointing. Would not go again
The new menu is absolutely fabulous! We couldn’t decide what to order. So we plan to eat there once a week and work our way through the menu. Tito‘s martini with blue cheese olives were out of this world!! The manager checked in with us to make sure we were having a good time. Our waiter Brad was excellent. They have sonic ice! Looks like they have a special brunch menu. This is my new go to restaurant!
The service and food was great. An overall good dining experience. Our server was knowledgeable and the chef and manager came to the table to explain menu items. Will def be back!
Beausoliel came back new and improved. The food was terrific and the atmosphere - the outside patio - was exceptional. The small plates are definitely worth trying and the ribeye was wonderful to share between 4!
The new management of Beausoleil have done a great job. The interior was redecorated to give a more open and roomy feel, and additional outdoor seating was added. The biggest change is the expanded menu, with a variety of unique offerings. The wine list has also been expended and offers an excellent selection of California, French and Spanish wines (Chateau Beauséjour is fantastic!).The wait staff has been enlarged and seemed (to me) to be friendlier than before. We were regular diners at the old Beausoleil, but the one is definitely an improvement! (And BTW OpenTable, the restaurant name is "Beausoleil Coastal Cuisine", not "Costal"...)
Outstanding! The menu is absolutely the best in Baton Rouge and the food is divine! I went on two consecutive days for lunch while in town and look forward to dining with them again soon! We had the Lobster Saint-Domingue, La jumbo lump crab on toast and the truffles fried ousters—both days! Can’t wait to try other selections!
Wonderful time. First trip since reopening. Very pleasant surprise. Service was top quality. Menu was very intense. The actual food was even better. Cannot wait to return to try additional food items on the menu.
By the way, large mixed drink and wine selections were available. Tried a few, going back to try some more. By the way, we dined outside on the new enlarged patio.
Outstanding food and atmosphere! Great for any occasion.
By far my most favorite restaurant in Baton Rouge. It was worth the drive.
It was wonderful as always. I just wish they had more lunch options. It was a great Father's Day though. I enjoyed the drinks and the atmosphere. It is such a great restaurant.
It was a wonderful evening of great food and being able to visit with friends.
Great food. Service was outstanding. Waitress Georgia was golden.
Had a drink at the bar before dinner. Bartenders Jessica and Jeff were very knowledgeable and helpful.
From wine to food to service, everything was first class. A hidden gem and not to be missed. Surprise your date and don’t miss the fried eggplant. It is light and heavenly.
Everything about this restaurant was wonderful. The bar selections with grand. The food was reasonably priced and delicious. Our waiter was a little off the mark. Instead of bringing us our cocktails, he took our cocktail order and then stood there and proceeded to tell us the nightly specials. We would have preferred to have had our cocktails sooner. Other than that the place was fabulous. I have been before and I will definitely go back again
Took the parents to dinner while they were in town (they are 82). We had the Brussels sprouts & deviled eggs for apps and they were as good as the first time we had them several months ago in the bar. Wine bottles were 2 for 1 and we took full advantage of it and killed 2 bottles between the 4 of us. The waitress was very attentive and answered all of questions without hesitation. Would highly recommend Beausoleil for a date night or entertaining guests.
We have visited this restaurant plenty of times before but tonight made us not want to go back. For the money that was spent ($200) our meal should have been memorable. The steak was not seasoned at all and the filet was tough and hard to cut. The ribeye with the butter sauce was overpowering and the steak was basically drenched in a soup which made it hard to enjoy. We got the tuna as an appetizer and again it was very bland. Should have been served with some sort of sauce drizzled on top. Unfortunately we probably will not be back.
I liked the place the waitress was great! The catfish I had was overall okay the gravy was a little thick my wife loved the duck! Felt like the wait staff was under dressed for a nice restaurant- wasn’t sure what the restaurant was going for though? Casual ? Upscale? Overall nice place though. Would and have recommended it.
Returned to restaurant after being ‘regulars’ for a few years. Food not as good as it was back in the day - overall good not great. Lots of open tables on Valentine’s Day. Restaurant is quiet (definite plus) and very accommodating ‘fine dining’ for newborn. I will definitely order the Brussels sprouts appetizer and bread pudding dessert. My husband and I weren’t too thrilled about our fish entrees. This is a good restaurant but not a must go.
Been here since Nathan’s days, and now with Jeff. Love it. Nice to see new items on the lunch menu. Always a stop when we’re in town.
The food was outstanding other than having to send back the tuna as it was overcooked. Although I'm not sure if the server asked how my friend wanted it cooked. The service started out great. Some of our friends were late and it seemed to decline at that point and also seemed our server got busy at this time. We had to ask for the status of our cocktails a few times and even some of our food items as they did not seem to ever be arriving to our table. It appeared our server maybe didn't put in all of our orders. We were also told one of our friends birthday dessert would be on the house however it was on our ticket. We asked for our ticket to be split 5 ways evenly as we thought this would be the easiest for the server. However the server did some other complicated split. The server also tried to pick up a few of our plates and drinks before we were finished. One drink also disappeared before it was finished. We didn't complain about any of this... however I received the email and thought management or the owners may want to know. Thank you
Food tasted reheated. One in our party bit down into a piece of plastic, which the waiter was very nice about but no manager ever came out to say anything. Even for restaurant week I found the portions unusually small, for example my steak was advertised to come with fingerling potatoes and it came with 1 chopped in 3 pieces.
All four of us agreed that the food was less than even average - not worth it. Will not go back.
We went for restaurant week and we were served a three-course dinner for a fixed price. $30. The appetizer was excellent although very small. For the main course we were served a small piece of fish with no bed of rice or anything under it , with three overcooked asparagus. The dessert consisted of a single marshmallow, a few graham cracker crumbs, and a drizzle of Hershey’s chocolate syrup. Won’t be back.
Great neighborhood restaurant. Blair was a marvelous waiter.
We may try it again, but this experience was a real letdown. It was restaurant week, so we ordered from the limited menu. The crawfish budin balls were almost all breading & rice. The duck appetizer was mostly bread pocket. My wife’s steak was horrible. It was overcooked. 1/2” thick and we even needed to ask for a second steak knife in order to try to cut it. My fish was okay. We both had the sweet potato desert which was okay, not great. The old fashioned was very good, but the special cherry was a letdown. The smoke and fire was interesting. The blueberry lemonade was not to my wife’s liking. The Paris drink (herb flavor) was good. It tasted like an after dinner digestive. The meal took entirely too long. I suppose the kitchen was backed up. The waitress did was doing what she could. Basically, have you ever been to a restaurant on Valentine’s Day and been served slop? Yep. That was about it.
First experience and this place exceeded expectations. Food was outstanding and the service even better. Our waiter Jonathan made our experience, he was so knowledgeable and helpful. Will be back!
To begin with, the hostess is right inside the door yet just watches people with those in wheelchairs struggle to open the door and help their disabled counterpart in. She literally stood there watching-she could have at the very least held the door. After being seated it took almost 15min for our server to appear. Due to it being restaurant week, our server took the order for all 3 courses at once (no problem at all). Our steaks came before our appetizers. We mentioned it to the runner who brought them out and he removed the plate after setting it down and took them to the back. Our appetizers came and were terrific. Next, our steaks were brought back out. Mine was room temp but my husband's was very cold since they had obviously just sat around after the mishap. Steak had a good flavor but more than half was fat. The sweet potato cheesecake was terrific. Once our waiter appeared, he was attentive the remaining part of the dinner.
There were 4 in our party and we all ordered from the Restaurant Week menu. Service was a little slow in the beginning but was more prompt once we placed our orders. Food was delicious (as always) and served piping hot. The duck empanadas are not to be missed.
Great food, good atmosphere, very busy at Sunday brunch.
It took over and hour for two salads, twenty minutes for an old fashion. My drink was empty for quite a while and only when they brought the salads was I offered another. The waiter had a large table next to us but I don’t understand why he couldn’t have just glanced over to see if we needed anything. The oyster salad I ordered had over cooked, hard oysters. This use to be a great place, either is was a very off night or it’s gone downhill.
Delicious food, well-priced. Service was fantastic, everything came to the table in perfect time. We really enjoyed our time there!
Drinks were excellent, appetizers were very good, entrees were not too great. I have eaten here several times and this is consistent with my previous experience.
Perfect place for three long time friends to get together for wine and small plates!
Enjoyed the evening however our waitress was less than par. We understood it was very busy as it was New Years and we would have accepted some delays and rushing but the fact that she barely checked on us and didn’t even thank us at the end of the evening was not acceptable. Someone else delivered our check after we waited quite some time for her to return. Food was very good and we will try again but not with same waitress.
