Wow, what an amazing place. We arrived early at 5,30 for our table for 4 at six and had a little drink at the bar before having the good value pre theatre menu. Staff were amazingly attentive. The food was universally deemed tasty. As the evening wore on, more guests arrived and the atmosphere became more relaxed and slightly mysterious. The room is beautifully designed and takes you back to an old era. At 7.30 a singer with a piano man serenaded us. We weren’t rushed out at this point as you may be at some high end places. All in all a lovely evening. We will definitely be back.

Spectacular experience. The ambience, decore, food, and service were all executed perfectly. One of the best "date night" restaurants I've ever had the pleasure of dinning.

We loved our meal here, what let us down was the service. We ordered two sides with our main, these didn’t arrive when our mains did. We mentioned that they hadn’t arrived and the waitress apologised she had forgotten to order them. We then asked for our mains to be taken away, so it all arrived at the same time. When it came to the desserts , to speed things up , we didn’t ask for the menus, my partner said to me “it’s either Tiramisu or cheesecake” . We ordered two cheesecakes, as neither like Tiramisu . We also asked for the bill, as we were on a pre theatre menu, and a show at 7.30. One cheesecake and Tiramisu arrived, we said to the waitress that the desserts were incorrect, and her reply was “I heard you say Tiramisu and cheese cake. We sent that Tiramisu back and shared the cheesecake. Still no sign of the bill so we asked for it again. This arrived and I noticed the 15% service charge of £18.50, I paid the bill to the waitress as we were needing to be at the theatre. As my partner was collecting our coats, I saw the manager. The service charge had really annoyed me, because in my eyes that is for exemplary service, which we hadn’t received. I explained the situation and he didn’t hesitate to refund the service charge. So, would we go back? Yes, as I couldn’t fault the food, the ambiance etc, just the waitress wasn’t paying attention to our orders, nothing was written down, it was just in her mind.

Unfortunately meal was ruined through eating some flour and salt at base of the scallop shell, which I mistook as edible celeriac. This dish should be labelled that the base is not edible.

Visited one evening after the theater The Food and ambiance were wonderful. However the waiter and head waiter/manager was smug and condescending to our group! They pretty much told us they did not want us there without saying it out loud! Possibly not interested in serving Americans? We were well dressed ordered bottles of wine cocktails appetizers mains and desserts...so you can imagine it was not an inexpensive meal so the final disappointment was after paying the bill the waiter lingered in hopes of a larger tip above service charge, embarrassing and completely tone deaf to give that level of service and expect anything more!! Oh and be prepared that they charge pp for live entertainment that played 2 songs before finishing their set and leaving Save your money and enjoy great food and certainly better service anywhere else but here
