We had made reservations via Open Table at Aixos for Tuesday night August 1st along with out of town friends. When we got there, there was a sign that it was closed for the evening due to plumbing problems. That happens, but we were disappointed that no message was received from either Aixos or Open Table. Luckily we found another good restaurant in the area.
I'm disappointed because it was a very good small restaurant which always had good food, good service, good ambiance and once in a while good Greek music.
My boyfriend and I had a fantastic time! If you're ever there when the braised lamb pasta is on special--get it!
Saw this place on Diners Driveins Dives...
Glad we went!
We were a little disappointed with our server. She was friendly, but made us feel a bit uncomfortable at times. We were seated with our children (20 and 17), and when we ordered alcoholic beverages for us she insisted on checking our IDs. I understand it's the law, but we are CLEARLY over 21 and it was not a flattering gesture - it was awkward and inconvenient. Our server also told my husband that she had no idea about the drink he ordered but that it sounded good and she wanted one. If I hadn't been ticked off about the proof of my age, I guess I would have thought she was funny but I just felt annoyed. Food was very good.
Great food, and amazing service. Wanted to try a new Greek restaurant and this one was perfect. The Baklava was also to die for.
I ordered pasta with béchamel sauce but got marinara sauce. For dessert we ordered baklava and after a 20 minute wait, we asked for it to be boxed up so we could leave. Our waiter went to check and came back with dessert on a plate and said it was too late. But it wasn't what we ordered, it was a Apple dessert. We didn't want to wait anymore, so we ate it and to be fair it was delicious. Our waiter was funny but took forever to check on us. We would not dine here again.
Incredibly authentic food and every item we ordered was delicious! Best Greek food in Denver by far. Total gem with excellent service as well. Something on the menu in all price points as well. Fantastic experience.
Great service as usual. The trio of dips was a tasty app. Love the saganaki, can't go wrong with flaming cheese! Generous portions. The spanakopita comes with a little salad so it's substantial as an entree (for some). Interesting Greek beer and wine choices.
We heard about Axios via the TV program "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives." We had planned a vacation in the Denver area anyway so we decided to have dinner one evening at Axios. We were NOT disappointed! The layout of the restaurant is simple, but the service was very professional and excellent, and the food absolutely delicious and well-presented. If we lived in the Denver area we would go there often! I highly recommend this restaurant, and if you're in the Denver area, by all means treat yourself to a super eating experience. And best of all, it won't break the bank!!!
Saw Axois on Diners,Drive-ins and Dives. We were going to be in Denver and decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. Our server was terrific, sorry I didn't get his name. The food was exordinary, the servings were very generous. I am sorry it's so far from where I am in Albuquerque.
Saganaki was outstanding! I had the lamb ribs and she had the moussakala - both were incredible and a large amount of food! Our server was very attentive (maybe a bit too much) but it was a busy night so no complaints. We will be back!!
Great service, our waiter was more than helpful with recommendations! The lamb was amazing and so was the baklava. Will definitely be returning!
Have always dined there during the week so noise wasn't a problem but on a busy Saturday night it was hard to hear our own conversation.
First time, liked the casual setting, service staff very friendly and the Food was great. For sure going to return to try other items on the menu.
We went due to their appearance on Diners Drive In's & Dives. We haven't been disappointed in the past with Guys recommendation. This time was a fail. The food was average and the service was painfully slow and at times non-existent. The restaurant was not full by any means and the waiter was sweating horribly and kept apologizing for his lack of attentiveness. To top off the end of the evening, we waited 40 min. To get our to go dessert. Almost as long as it took to get dinner. After that it is really difficult to rate this restaurant any higher. We will not be going back.:(
We were early for our reservation and they accommodated us. Breana, the waitress was wonderful, they were one short and she picked up the slack. The food was over the top and the atmosphere was full of energy but we were still able to carry a conversation. Would definitely recommend this place.
Axios, was recommended to me by my older son girlfriend. It was everything she said it would be and more. It was a first date with a charming and pretty Lady. She also commented on how
the service was great and the food was excellent.
The prices were appropriate for the ethic type of restaurant, not too pricey considering they need,to bring in special food since it is a Greek restaurant.
Wine list was ok, pricey on bottles but by the glass was reasonable
Outstanding food and service! Lamb ribs are to die for! Our party ordered three different entrees and everyone said they were ready to come back the next night and have the same entrée! I see why DDD raved about this place! Tuesday night wine at $15 per bottle is better than liquor stores. I could eat here everyday except we live an hour away. I guess a couple of times a week will have to suffice.
Awesome food, but bring a jacket, the dining room was cold.
Great food, great service. The Sunday brunch here is our favorite!
Outstanding in every way! We drive way out of our way to come here. Food is delicious every time and service exceptional. Don't miss it!
Went for a brunch date and the food was amazing!!!!
Very good authentic Greek dining. Getting the Sagnaki flambe (made with Kasseri cheese) is a special treat. Good selection of Greek wines and other beverages.
Neighbor gem for fresh and healthy Greek options.
This has become one of my favorite restaurants in Denver.
Great food and delightful staff.
Love the calamari. My husband had it as his main dish with a salad. We both had small salads, which were meals in themselves. Great service, staff and excellent food.
Great food and service. Everything was absolutely delicious! Will definitely be back again soon.
The food was just fine and the service was superb. But it was so noisy that we had to yell at each other across the table. It was not pleasant. When we said something to the staff, the response was "Welcome to a Greek Restaurant!"
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Axios. It was our first time dining here. Our waiter gave us great suggestions and explanations of the menu items. The food was fabulous. We definitely would come back and would strongly recommend Axios to anyone looking for great food and a fun dining experience.
We return to Axios for the great combinations of flavors and well seasoned healthy food. The service is always fantastic. Get the table in the window to enjoy the quiet ambiance and the street view. Parking can be a challenge with all of the construction, but it's worth it.
A treasured neighborhood spot. The staff is always very friendly and attentive. Easy, delicious, consistent and fun!
We celebrated Mothers Day with my Greek Wife and Family for Sunday Brunch. They were very accommodating with our reservation on a very busy day. My wife enjoys drinking Sparkling Wine(Champagne) and the Owner, Telly, was very helpful on personally recommending a Greek Rose Sparkling Wine from Southern Greece and it was AMAZING!!! We were with our 3 daughters and the Staff was very accommodating to their special requests. We sampled Greek appetizers which were Very Delicious and Authentic Greek. The Menu was especially selected for the occasion and we were delighted with Greek Omelettes and Amazing Greek style French Toast. We sampled an array of Greek Desserts that were very good and tasty. The Service and Attention to detail was top Notch! Would highly recommend Axios to families and Friends!
My sons took me there for Mother's Day Brunch. We each had delicious dishes. The staff was attentive but not hovering. The price was good. I'd go again.
We've been coming to axios for years. Food is always solid. Service can be hit or miss but as a former server in a previous life I don't let service impact my dining experience. Don't miss out on the saganaki and feta/olive apps. Solid all around as always. After having sold out and leaving our life in the highlands behind for suburban life, we continue to frequent Axios.
Brunch with family.
Great Food! Great Service!
Everybody had a great time and the food was excellent!
I thought the food was good, but I don't know Greek food too well. I had a salad with chicken meat, and it was delicious. I think the place is fairly reasonable, for the neighborhood, sort of a trendy part of the city. I didn't like the yelling each time the flaming cheese came out, but I guess that's a thing at Greek restaurants. What I like about this place is that it's usually pretty quiet. No draft beer, which is a pity, but the wine list is decent. The worst part is the service - super slow, and our server was not very attentive, though our water glasses remained full, so the bus service was fine.
If you enjoy great Greek food, dine at Axios. The food is fabulous - all four of us ordered different meals and each one was excellent. My only "complaint" really is that the tables are on the small side, especially noticeable because the plates are very large. So between the plates, water glasses, wine glasses, etc., it's a bit over-crowded.
Good brunch , the Greek scrambled eggs was absolutely delicious ,beat salad was wonderful the cheese was great my wife said her Greek Benedict was wonderful definitely will return
