Launched in October 2017, AUN is a small, independent restaurant bringing the Japanese concept of ‘wakon yosai’ to the heart of Stoke Newington.
This idea of learning western techniques without losing a Japanese spirit translates as imaginatively presented dishes that create delicious Japanese flavours using European ingredients alongside traditional ones.

Great food, great service and great ambiance. We really loved AUN as a whole and will definitely come back in the future. All the food was delicious but we did have a soft spot for the wagyu croquettes, the yellowtail, the potato soup and the udon. And I almost forgot the dessert.... the deserts were also amazing! We loved the choux with the soy ice cream + the matcha gateau au chocolat <3 The service was great. our waiter was lovely, helpful and the service was pristine.

Whilst we have had good meals at Aun. Sadly the current menu as of July 2025 was extremely disappointing. Each dish was disappointing and served too slowly. Hopefully a future menu can improve the food, however in our experience the lunch service is better.

Friendly staff, good choice on the set menu for the Sunday when we went, and we ordered extra karaage chicken because we enjoyed it so much. The matcha cake and basque style cheesecake was a tasty treat to end our meal.

Absolutely incredible dining experience, delicious, curated, high quality dishes that were beautifully presented. Great service, very good value for money. I can't wait to try your summer menu once it's out!

For an enjoyable evening with excellent food you can’t go wrong with Anu. Staff were knowledgeable without being fussy. Food was well timed and although reasonably busy the noise level was good. Will definitely visit again.

Incredible food with warm and friendly staff who go out of their way to make sure you’re enjoying the experience! I’ve been three times and eaten something completely different and equally delicious each time. Amazing vegan options.

I would love to give this another shot but unfortunately it was an overall disappointing experience. The food just took way, way too long. Staff was lovely, I think understaffed. Food was good but not mind blowing, too expensive for this service level.

We had a large table for 11 @ 3pm and the kitchen closed very swiftly after, which was fine. We were only given 1.5 hrs to eat and drink which was disappointing given the table size. If I had known the restaurant closed I would not have booked at this time. Other than this the service was good and the food was nice. Overall I wouldn’t recommend for large groups as they couldn’t accommodate cocktails for 5/6 people at one time
