The owners of Artisans Restaurant have created a place unlike any other. The vast working kitchen is in the middle of the restaurant, with views from every seat in the building. The culinary team works like an orchestra, where their composer is the owner/executive chef and they work in unison to create art for their audience consistently while paying attention to every detail.

We had a great Mother’s Day brunch with good music and great food. Our server, Rafael was outstanding. So entertaining with lots of stories and history of our fav champagne. Artisans is always on our choice list.
Nice atmosphere! Food (set menu) was good and I will definitely return to taste their regular menu. Easy parking, which is always a plus.
Great scenery, calm and collective environment, and a great romantic place to take your significant other on a charming/meaningful date.
Food and service was Mediocre
Really good food, service not so polished but attentive and good overall. Eclectic but charming ambiance and conducive to an intimate evening. Could use more valets.
Great vibe and great location! Very lively front and dining area with a modest and chill ball room area. Waiter was nice and cheerful as well as helpful with the menu. Only gripe is the menu felt overwhelming. If you're used to a structured menu, this might not be it. Would love to geaux again!
We sat at the Chef’s table overlooking the kitchen. Everything was great!
Celebrated my birthday there. Had the tasting menu. Every course was wonderful! The lobster bisque and the foie gras are must tries. But then, so are the scallop, the pistachio crusted sea bass and the steak. Delicious!!!
Business celebration meal. Thanks!
My fiancé and I love Artisans! The food is prepared beautifully and with an array of flavors. Well worth the price, specially if you get the 6 or 7 course tasting. The service staff is very attentive and knowledgeable. I also enjoy the comfy atmosphere that has been created with the lighting, candles, and cushioned seats.
Artisans Restaurant in Downtown Houston is easily our #1 choice for special occasions. While it can be pricey to enjoy multiple courses, it is well worth it. The dishes are all wonderfully and creatively flavored and beautifully presented. The attentive wait staff ensures that the pace of the dinner is relaxed to allow you to enjoy each plate. Their wine list balances perfectly with the varied selections on the menu. And what wonderful ambiance. A perfect evening out.
What a great experience at Artisans. My wife and I are not "foodies" and this was our first experience ordering a coursed meal. She got the 6 course and I got the 7. The food was amazing. I don't even know what I ate, but everything was delicious and I didn't regret getting any of it. The good food just kept coming is small portions and at the end of the night we were both pleasantly full :)
If you're looking for a great date night experience, I can not recommend Artisans enough. We sat at the "bar" so we got to watch the chef's, which just added to the overall experience. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Artisans is an exceptionally great restaurant, particularly for special occasions.
Houston is fortunate to be the home of an international celebrity chef. Jacques Fox and his team never disappoint.
The food and service at Artisans is outstanding. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The owner, Jacque, visited with us and was just delightful. We have been several time and are looking forward to going back for one of their wine dinners!
Great ambiance, lighting, decor, service and the best part was the food!
Great 3 course lunch. Say at the chefs table. A gem for lunch.
My husband had the special fish with risotto and spinach it was absolutely delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed my ribeye.
Great dinner, great food, great service! Definitely worth the visit
You just can't say and enough about the team that works at Artisans. You feel so welcomed from the moment you walk in the door. The consistency of the food is absolutely spot on. You couldn't ask for a more gracious, comfortable surrounding. Come to Htown and don't miss eating here. And don't save Artisans for that special occasion only dinner, make it a staple in your restaurant rotation ❤
This was one of our best meal since a while.
I strongly recommend to take the 6 and 7 courses menu.
The food is superb
We went to Artisans for our wedding anniversary. The ambiance is amazing and the food was absolutely great! The chef even came over and introduced himself sat and chatted for a moment! Our waiter was amazing as well!
Excellent Service. Delicious Food. Crusted bass was a hit. Beef salad is delicious.
Food, service & ambiance were excellent! Server was very knowledgeable And accommodating.
Good ambiance and service and several dishes were outstanding but all were very good.
Loved everything! Great service, delicious food and soothing environment. Gregory, the manager, goes above and beyond to make sure everyone experiences a wonderful lunch and/or dinner.
We did the tasting menu with wine pairing and it was amazing!
Me and my husband had a great night at artisans tonight. The food was amazing. The dessert was even better!
They did not have the foie gras torchon but they did have the foie gras seared. They did not have the coq au vin on the menu but they did have it on special menu, (they were unable to make it tonight). The drinks were really tasty!
The Bouillabaisse was superb and very rare to find in Houston.
Our waiter Kent was the best! He really made the experience.
We loved the place and it had outstanding service the food was excellent we highly recommend coming here
I went there for a first date and was extremely pleased. The waitstaff were friendly and non-obtrusive. The food was great as was the ambiance. A special evening. Will dine there again
Incredible food, outstanding service and perfect ambiance. Can’t wait to return!
Service was fantastic. Entrees were also very good. Bass Amuse Buche and beef Tartare both lacked flavor. Overall very good and I would absolutely go back.
Chef Jacques is truly an artist. His creations are absolutely amazing. Both pretty to look at and to eat. We love dining at artisans and can't wait until our next visit. Chef jacques is also a wonderful host. If he suggests wine pairings or dishes, take him up on those. You won't regret. Kent was a great waiter too. Made our special occasion celebration fun.
The food was just as delicious as I remembered! I used to tell everyone Artisans was my favorite Houston restaurant. Haven’t had a chance to return in so long, so I’m thankful that my husband enjoyed it as much as I did.
Fresh, creative, interesting and delicious. The best restaurant in Houston. Consistently amazing.
The service could a bit too fast for a 6 courses meal.
Bloody disgrace. Read my Yelp review here:
This was an astonishingly terrible experience. From the waiter wearing his mask d-ck-nose style and telling me that I didn't have to wear one walking around to the atrocious food, I feel like I was robbed of time and money. Both my dining partner and I went with the prix-fixe. I've been to a lot of French restaurants in and out of France in my life, but this one was undoubtedly the winner of the worst. The foie gras had zero taste. The escargot tasted like almond paste with basil. The fish? Was it fish? I couldn't tell because it tasted like cardboard. There was a moment when I had to eat a pice of candy I had in my pocket just to double check that my taste buds were still functional. They were. The wine selection with prix-fixe had no rhyme or reason and at one point we had 9 glasses of wine at the table not knowing where any of them fit. This is just awful food probably intended for people with low expectations who have no clue what French food is supposed to taste like. Perhaps there was a reason why this was the only French restaurant that I could get a reservation in on a Saturday night booking late. Merde...
One other thing that I want to mention getting back to the waiter issue: It is one thing to be so arrogant and disrespectful to your patrons by packing the place to 100% capacity. It's a whole other thing for the waiter wearing a mask around his chin to stick his face 1 foot away from yours throughout the entire evening. I'm vaccinated, otherwise I would have stood up and left on the spot. Pay attention management.
Everything was fabulous. From the moment we walked in, we felt at home. Outstanding service and everything exceeded expectations. Food was phenomenal and the owner gracious. Our new go to place, even though we live in Sienna!
Chef Fox continues to have the best French restaurant in Houston. His people are as good at their jobs as he is as chef.
