Artisan Waterfront Restaurant & Tavern offers a unique and innovative dining experience with magnificent views of Lake Michigan. Our Great Lakes-inspired, New American cuisine has an emphasis on farm-fresh fare from local and regional farms, celebrating the theme of craftsmanship and sustainability.
With booking a table in Artisan please advise your table will be reserved for 2 hours starting at the time of your reservation.
PLEASE NOTE THAT OUTSIDE TABLES ARE RESERVED UPON REQUEST BUT CANNOT BE GUARANTEED.
If you have requested a table outdoors, please be advised that in the case of inclement weather, we will do our best to accommodate your party inside at the same reservation time, however we cannot guarantee a table inside at the same exact time and may need to adjust the reservation time accordingly.

    They went above and beyond to tey and get us outdoor seating. Shrimp pasta dish out of this world, and I am not a big shrimp fan

    We had an incredible dining experience at this wonderful spot in Traverse City. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The staff was attentive, friendly, and genuinely cared that we were enjoying ourselves. The food was outstanding—You can really tell they use high-quality, local ingredients. Every dish we tried was thoughtfully prepared, and the flavors were perfectly balanced. Our drinks were incredible. My favorites that I had was “it’s always sunny in west bay” and their Espresso Martini. Whether you're a local or just visiting, this place is absolutely worth a stop. Beautiful views. Highly recommended!

    We drove 5 hours to experience Traverse city for our 1st Anniversary and we chose Artisan for our dinner. We were sat at 745 (our reservation time) and didnt get a drink order for 20 minutes. Our server Teagan had taken the main courses order for a table that was sat a half hour after us before realizing he forgot to even take ours! We then ordered 2 more drinks and waited for our meals. We had originally wanted the bread as an appetizer but we watched the last of the bread get sent to the table who's order was taken prior to ours even though we were there much earlier. We never got our charcuterie board, which is what the waiter suggested due the bread being sold out. We continued to wait another hour before I politely asked for our bill for our drinks, as which point the serve told us he could go "check on our food". I ordered a shrimp cocktail. We left and was very disappointed. Will not come back and will definitely not recommend this to anyone!

    What a great place! The Food was delicious and perfectly prepared… the staff was amazing, super friendly and helpful! Ask for Giovanni, he’s a fantastic waiter, and great tour guide! Always nice to get hints and tips from locals!

    Had an incredible time primarily due to Justin. He did a great job being punctual and attending to our ever needy needs. I would highly recommend him for server as his attitude and knowledge of the menu was superior. Justin is the best!
