The setting is gorgeous! Cocktails were unique and perfectly balanced. The staff were all extremely polite and attentive except for our server himself who seemed disinterested and bored. Unfortunately the food was merely “fine”, consistently under seasoned, and boring. Nothing was bad, but everything was forgettable until the check comes and you realize you should have expected much more from the food. Very close to being a great restaurant, so hopefully tonight was just an off night. Very unlikely to return given the number of far better options in TC.

The Artisan was fantastic in every way. First, our server Mari was spectacular and so very kind. We appreciated her recommendations and how great she was. Second, the appetizer we got from her recommendation was super amazing and perfect for two people since it was just my wife and I. Lastly, the entree was cooked to perfection. My wife and I both got the filet meal and it was the best steak we have ever had. Both of us thought it was perfect in every way. We were super impressed by the Artisan in every way. We would go back many times over again.

Made dinner reservations here with a note that I was celebrating a birthday dinner but it was completely ignored!! This was realized when we were never asked what we were celebrating, when we were seated. However, the same server asked a couple that was seated right next to us that specific question and courtesy!? Which led me to believe we were being ignored. On purpose. We could have spoken out, but it felt awkward as dinner progressed, and as other diners arrived near us. The soup we ordered was inedible. It had hard bits of crackers that I was afraid to bite into, in which I had to spit into my napkin, twice! In fact, I had to ask for another napkin. It was good they removed the charges. I just felt like the attention given to other diners were not given to us. Especially when I wanted to celebrate a special birthday here! Half of our meal was good and the other half a total miss… I’m local and I will not dine here again. Too bad, since we had dined here before and had a good time. I guess it all depends on who serves you? Treating your dining guests by ignoring their birthday request will not be acceptable to me, especially for what you pay here. It was a hit, but this time, a total miss. The birthday dinner intention was almost ruined, but we went to another restaurant to have our desert and it was great. I’m glad other diners have had a great experience here, but for our recent visit, it did not turn out as intended… just disappointing.

The dining experience at Artisan in Traverse City was a pleasant surprise. Chef Sarah Bobier is an amazing Chef. Our dinner was something we would expect in NYC not Traverse City. Every course was just spectacular! We will be back often!

I have loved every morsel of food I've ever eaten here. As a frequent visitor to Traverse City, I always make sure to visit Artisan. The servers, bartenders, and hosts create such a welcoming atmosphere that the decadent decor and menu never seem overwhelming or pretentious. If you are able to sit on the patio and catch a sunset, I highly recommend taking the opportunity.

Artisan has been my favorite restaurant for the last couple of years. The service is still excellent, the views are incredible, a comfortable and quiet atmosphere but the food was a huge disappointment this time around. We expect to pay more for this amazing location but it was worth it when the food was also amazing. Now it's expensive with mediocre food. :-(

The service was over the top with the server checking in with us every 55 to 10 mins. The food was excellent with wonderful spices. The presentations were also excellent. We especially liked the zucchini and summer squash served like melon balls and seasoned to perfection.

It was our 10 year’s Anniversary. They took to the patio table which was kind of their private beach and the view was amazing. In addition they served free deserts for three of us. I liked the cheese cake very much! We will definitely go back there!

We had another great experience at Artisan on May 20. Food and service were perfect and the view of the bay is beautiful. Our request for seating is always honored and reservations are well managed. This has become one of our favorite restaurants in Traverse City, and with a menu that changes monthly, there is always something new to try. Highly recommended.

Another great meal at Artisan - don't be fooled that since it's in a hotel that it's not a top-quality restaurant, because it is! We went on Mother's Day dinner and it was obvious they had been busy for lunch because it was "all-hands-on-deck" during dinner service. Despite that, the staff was professional and friendly, and it was clear everyone was chipping in to make the experience perfect. The meal was exceptional, with specific shout-outs for the Salmon entree with zucchini and the fluffy cheesecake. While the room can get a little busy and like most good restaurants these days it is a little pricey, the outside deck should open shortly and the view is amazing. Enjoy your time in TC and definitely put the Artisan on your dinner plans.

Food was quite good overall except the crab corn soup was a bit disappointing in flavor. It would have been nice to have a view of the water from the restaurant itself, but the lounge area has a nice view. The cane chairs were uncomfortable but most of the seating had cushions. The service was great.

We should have known better than to book dinner on Mothers' Day. The limited price fixed menu was a red flag as was the slower than normal service. The food was very good although the pricing was very, very high. The wine pairing was disappointing because the serving size was very small. We've been to The Artisan twice before and really enjoyed it but I'm not sure we'll return the next time we're in Traverse City.

I went to Artisan’s Mother’s Day dinner with two other women who no longer had their mothers and whose children were not in the area. We were seated at a table with a beautiful view of the bay. Felicia was our primary waitstaff and she did an incredible job of getting our food out at exactly the right time; we never felt rushed nor did we feel like we were waiting for anything. Our food was delicious and the presentation was appealing. The restaurant manager inquired about our experience a couple of times and presented each of us with a beautiful red rose toward the end of our meal. We all agreed it was a wonderful experience and we will return.

We went for Mother’s Day. We were greeted with kindness that continued throughout the entire day visit. There was a prefixed menu with lots of this delicious options, including wine pairings; everything we had was cooked to perfection. I keep telling everyone how generous the portion of lobster was on my lobster Benedict. I was also impressed by the respect that the servers and staff gave to my young daughter. My mother-in-law has not been there since the renovation and was floored by how elegant everything is now the whole day was topped off by each mother at the tables, getting a beautiful rose. It was a great experience, and we will return.

Artisan prepares food at a level above the vast majority of restaurants, even other supposedly fine dining establishments. The chef knows what he is doing. My wife and I have gone twice in seven days and every bite of every item ordered is unassailable in terms of flavor and execution.
