Artisan Waterfront Restaurant & Tavern offers a unique and innovative dining experience with magnificent views of Lake Michigan. Absolutely hands-down the best experience I have ever had at a restaurant. This was our second year having Thanksgiving at Artisan. The food is amazing and there’s no better waite staff than here. Alex, the manager is a good conversation and knowledgeable. I will be back 🥰

Artisan presented and served an amazing Thanksgiving celebration. The choices on the menu were perfect…after all not everyone loves turkey and dressing. We had a lovely St. Emilion with our Steak au Poivre which was done to perfection along with crispy potato pave and roasted carrots. All was served in a cozy atmosphere with the most caring staff I’ve ever experienced from our hostess, server (s), sommelier, manager, to the lovely people that took away our plates and brought out our food to take home along with a small gift of turkey sliders for later on. How thoughtful! When I mention the staff, they worked seamlessly together and every single person looked as though they loved their job as well as serving us. Did I mention the lovely restaurant itself? We sat next to the beautiful fireplace/wood stove and had an incredible view of the bay. Thank you for making our Thanksgiving so memorable!

The service was incredible from the moment we were seated. To start with, we received a complimentary glass of sparkling wine to celebrate our anniversary. We felt as if we were the only patrons in the restaurant and were given special attention. The food was amazing as well! We will be back!

We were very excited to try Artisan but ended up really disappointed in the experience. Pros- The atmosphere was beautiful. The location is convenient. The menu has potential. Cons- The service was not impressive. Our server did not recommend, sell, or suggest anything. Our appetizer, the farm board, was extremely lame. We love locally sourced, but that shouldn’t mean raw broccoli and cucumber with a sprinkle of salt to accompany 2 pieces or cheese and few slices of meat for $28. We wanted to try the chef tasting menu but were told we couldn’t do it if the whole table didn’t order it. So we ordered our meals and there was no suggestion of starting with soup or salad. No suggestion of wine when our dinner was about to arrive. We felt as if we were not cared for at all. The manger even touched every table except ours. It was strange, overly pretentious, and we will not recommend or return.

Chair and table height didn't match. Table was too high and chairs were too low. We had to ask for a couple of pillows for our chairs, so the table could be at a comfortable height. Ambiance was pretty good, though like most TC restaurants, the music level was too high for good conversation. Menu was varied and attractive. Food was excellent, with novel presentations. The Caesar salad was especially noteworthy, as well as the halibut and scallop dishes. Wine list was impressive, though it would be nice if the alcohol content of various wines were printed on the wine list. Table service was pretty good, though the servicer could have been more agile. (It's not too nice for the server to reach in front of one guest to retrieve the used plate and cutlery from another, risking to drop same in a guest's lap -- which didn't happen, fortunately.) On final payment: bill was accurate with no surcharge for credit card use. I added a tip to the final final amount, but neglected to write it on the server's tip line. Apparently the server didn't receive credit for the tip, so I'll have to reach out to him separately and give him what he is due. Final assessment: another pleasant dinner at this fine restaurant. Wonderful ambiance and food.

Our server was friendly and knowledgeable about the food and its preparation. We had an amazing squash bisque that was almost too pretty to eat.The kitchen willingly split the large servings of soup and Caesar salad into two. The Caesar was extremely fresh with fresh grated Parmesan, and the dressing was delicious. For our main course, my husband chose a homemade pasta with a local mushroom sauce and I chose the local fish blackened —in a sandwich with excellent french fries. It was seriously delicious. And the presentation was exceptional. We would definitely eat here again. It was surprising on many levels. Not the least of which was there was live music on a Sunday night. Great experience.

For health reasons, I recently switched to a vegan diet and at times have challenges finding well made vegan options, when dining with friends who are not vegan and prefer meat options. While visiting Traverse City in October 2023, we stumbled upon this restaurant, Artisan, nestled in the Delamar hotel. Artisan did not disappoint! Although the vegan options were limited, what was available was quite tasty, actually my dish was exceptional. My friends, who ordered meat and shrimp options also raved about their dishes. Our server, Giovanni, was also outstanding! The ambiance was quite lovely (relaxing). We will definitely be returning!

The Artisan is a beautiful place: right on the bay with beautiful views! The staff is professional, attentive and friendly. They are open to meeting expectations and to your having a great time. It’s a lively atmosphere and can be moderately loud, yet still nice for conversation and private celebration.

We did not have a reservation but arrived early enough to sit at the bar for drinks and appetizers. They use the bar tables for reservations. It is a very nice setting. The bartender provided outstanding, attentive service. We had the white sauce pizza and bruschetta. Both were delicious.

We very impressed by the fine dining experience offered at Artisan. We only have two suggestions: it would be helpful if the server would stop to explain the chose of entrees so one is aware of the actual food's presentation....room temperature or hot. Also, it's obvious careful thought when into the details of the room, lighting, decor and it is lovely. The only constructive criticism would be in order to take it to a '10' please add fresh flowers or plant life to the tables rather than silk roses. We will be back.

This was our first time dining at The Artisan and it will definitely not be our last. The service was fantastic, the food was amazing, and the views were very nice, too. We dined in October, so there was no outside seating. I can only imagine how great the views are in the summertime.

All servers were attentive, professional, and respectful. And the food was excellent! Our only issue was the patrons at table next to ours. They carried on a telephone conversation on “speaker” for at least 5 minutes!! The sommelier approached the patrons twice, yet the rude customers continued the phone call.

My wife and I recently celebrated our anniversary dinner on the patio. We couldn't have asked for a better location/view right on the water. Everything about the dinner was exceptional, you won't be disappointed. The food was outstanding and the preparation was excellent. Our server Anna was fantastic, she was top notch and very knowledgeable of the dishes we ordered. I would highly recommend Artisan for a special occasion or a great dinner out.

The four of us were seated on their covered, outdoor patio. Overlooking the calm waters of Traverse Bay. We had a number of the sharable plates. Each one as delicious as that last. Highly recommended dining experience.
