Artisan Waterfront Restaurant & Tavern offers a unique and innovative dining experience with magnificent views of Lake Michigan. Our Great Lakes-inspired, New American cuisine has an emphasis on farm-fresh fare from local and regional farms, celebrating the theme of craftsmanship and sustainability.
With booking a table in Artisan please advise your table will be reserved for 2 hours starting at the time of your reservation.
PLEASE NOTE THAT OUTSIDE TABLES ARE RESERVED UPON REQUEST BUT CANNOT BE GUARANTEED.

Had an incredible time primarily due to Justin. He did a great job being punctual and attending to our ever needy needs. I would highly recommend him for server as his attitude and knowledge of the menu was superior. Justin is the best!

The food was excellent. The service was erratic. We arrived a little early and were offered a seat in the bar area, where we could have a pre-dinner drink. But nobody came to take our order until just before we were brought to our table. We took our drinks to our table, ordered the bread (for which they charge, an new and annoying development we've observed in several restaurants recently) and it took half an hour to arrive. But we got an apology and they took it off the bill. While the bread was being delivered they brought the entrées. I asked them to take them back, and called over the maître d' and complained and he apologized and promised he'd get them restarted and delivered at the appropriate time. He did, and they were excellent. We ordered dessert too, which we normally skip, and it was great. And when the bill came it was for a couple of drinks--they had comped most of the meal. Poor service compensated for by excellent recovery. We'd still go back.

What a treat! Farm-to-table menu offers outstanding selections: our table enjoyed the mushroom soup, clam chowder, dry aged rib eye and scallops. Save room for the strawberry cream puff — topped off a beautiful meal!

The restaurant was beautiful and the staff were friendly. Food was excellent. Our server frequently brought the wrong items to the table and pretty much only spoke to my fiancé vs me, but that won’t deter me from going again.

Made a trip up north from Chicago and came across Artisan restaurant as a farm to table restaurant in Traverse City. It checked all the boxes: great food reviews,On the water,great ambiance’s. We travel a lot and have been to plenty of upscale restaurants. I would say this was better than I expected. Our waitress Melissa. Knew the menu and provided great service. The Delaware hotel which I was not familiar with was also a great looking hotel on the water with great outdoor dinning. The variety on the menu was great. I would strongly recommend this restaurant. Only critique was I had left a couple messages on their voicemail and did not receive a call back.

I have not been to the Artisan in a couple of years and decided to go again. Not disappointed! Everything was exceptional. Starting with the people: the manager, servers, receptionist were extremely friendly and welcoming. We had let them know in advance it was our wedding anniversary and they had put a congratulatory notice on our table. Multiple employees came by to congratulate us. Ambiance was great: views of the water, not too noisy, and comfortable seating. Food was superb although I did have one issue: my walleye was slightly dry. They immediately replaced it and I was very happy with the result. I have always believed that a negative can be turned into a positive--and this was the result. Credit the server for this. When she asked how we liked our food, my wife was enthusiastic but I said nothing so she continued her questioning to me at which point I confessed the fish was dry. She immediately took charge to fix this. Very impressive! And they we received a tasty gnouche desert for no charge. Also, and I really appreciate this, we were never rushed by receiving our food too quickly. We had ample time to relax and chat without being hurried. I think we spent a couple hours over the course of dinner. My hats off to Artisan, I will be back!
