Appeared to have a number of servers/wait staff, yet we waited an unusually long time for our food. The wait was even longer to get our bill and even longer for some one to take our bill. Will really have to beg my husband to go again.
Really hard to heard each other and our table for four was even on the small side.
This was a lovely dinner
Todo muy rico pero nada fuera del otro mundo...
The oyster appetizer was delicious. The shrimp n grits appetizer was very good but too large. The square 4 tops with 1 person on each of 4 sides are very uncomfortable for 4 people of average size. I am a male 5'9" and by mid-meal 1 of my legs is cramping. he 4 tops with 2 people per side look more comfortable
One of the best meals in a city of amazing food! A must try when in NOLA
My friend came to visit and it was our first meal together after we haven’t seen each other for a year. The service was so welcoming, outgoing, and considerate. The cocktail was surprisingly good! Definitely have made some good memories there with my dearest girl friend!
Had heard Apolline is good and driven by it many times. Glad we went and will return! Liked the Brie, shrimp and grits and drum. Mac and cheese with crabmeat is tasty but rich.
Food was cold. Service was great but slow. Only one other table for lunch, but service was very slow.
The food was delicious and the atmosphere was charming. Our server did a great job. Enjoyed the meal.
Susan the bartender was the best person ever.
A top restaurant in New Orleans. Exceptional talent from: GM, Chef to the entire team. All are accommodating. A culinary treat.
Dip the warm bread into the bisque. The drum with risotto melts in your mouth. Baked oysters, everything is so good. Service is top notch. We love the chef. We always leave happy.
A quaint place in uptown away from the crowds of the Quarter. Well worth the $10 Uber to get there. I had the broiled oysters to start. Not the common preparation at so many places these days. More like a Rockefeller but without the spinach. That and the main course--grilled black drum over crab-laced risotto--were both excellent. Some creative cocktails from the bar and timely and friendly service made for a fun experience. It was my first time there. I will definitely come back again.
As always, one of my favorite dinner spots. The food was superb, but the noise inside was pretty bad - really my only complaint! Will definitely go again.
Love love loved all of the food that I tried here. Cannot go wrong with the scallops!
Excellent food , friendly staff and wonderful service
Elegant dining experience in a welcoming environment. The interior decor is subdued and sophisticated, impeccably clean and bright, and welcoming. It is also easy to converse.
We were a party of six and did a very extensive cross-tasting of many dishes on the menu. The charbroiled oysters were perfectly done and succulent, and was a fine precusor to the very well conceived and balanced mains. The pork chop was juicy and full of flavor, as was the lamb ragu. Save room for the bread pudding and the chocolate cake. A happy palate and a fine evening together.
Got together with another couple and had dinner at Appoline. The wine selection was good, the food was awesome, and the waitstaff very attentive. We will definitely go there again and recommend it to friends.
My girlfriend and I dined at Apolline last Friday (Feb. 23) and everything was wonderful as far as the food, service, and atmosphere goes. We started with the Shrimp & Grits. Excellent. For dinner my girlfriend got the Baby Drum and I had the Braised Lamb Ragu. Again, both were fantastic. Then we finished it off with the Brioche Bread Pudding. Like everything else, it was wonderful. Service was top-notch as well. However, my reasoning for not being able to give this restaurant a 5 star review is the fact that my girlfriend and I were sat between 2 large groups of women (an 8 top & a 6 top). The 8 top of women were drinking and just enjoying themselves but they were extremely loud and then once the 6 top of women was sat, it pretty much became impossible for us to have a conversation and enjoy our date night out. I won't necessarily say it ruined our evening but it did make it a little less enjoyable. A 2 top should never be put in-between 2 large parties. I would absolutely still return to Apolline but will make sure I request a table away from any large groups.
Anniversary
Enjoyed a great Valentine's Day dinner. Good good and wine oairing. The service was outstanding. Everyone treated us well.
This is one of my family's go to spots for special occasions. We are never disappointed. Keith and his Team are first class. The pork chop is the best I have ever had.
We went to be in a prime position to watch Mardi Gras parades. As in years past, the staff was wonderful, being gracious about our hopping up and running onto the front porch to watch parades, timing courses to arrive between parades, and still getting the food out hot.
Lots of locals were there. It made for a lovely evening.
Excellent restaurant. Food is always good and very consistent. Nice place with good service.
We go to Apolline frequently for brunch. We need to go there for dinner more often. Our food and service was wonderful as it always is there. I love the chef. Everyone is friendly and on their game. The food is delicious in this charming spot on Magazine street.
Our last 2 times in NOLA the food & service was 5 * . This time not so much. The duck confet at brunch was way too salty. I informed the waitress and no concern was given to us with our disappointment. it seemed as if they just wanted us to pay the bill and get out and so we did and there you are. What a slap in the face. Will not return
The restaurant was so beautiful, and everything on the menu sounded absolutely delicious. Great service as well! Would love to come back.
Celebrated our 1 year anniversary here in our visit to NOLA. Loved it! The Crab Mac and cheese was amazing! The ambiance is perfect for any event. Will be definitely coming back when we visit again.
Great food nice atmosphere
What's not to love about Apolline? It has a wonderful, warm, romantic atmosphere. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The drinks were outstanding. And the food was amazing! Will definitely return.
We went to Apolline for a pre fixe NYE dinner. That day, I got a very rude e-mail from the manager saying that if I did not confirm my reservation, it would be cancelled because there was a wait list. Extremely unprofessional.
Our reservations were at 8:30. We stood by the door in a 10 x 10 space with about 15 other people until 9:15 when we were finally seated. We were not offered champagne while we stood there waiting and getting blasted with 20 degree cold wind every time the door opened. We didn’t get out of there until 11:30 - and that was only because we skipped dessert. Food was mediocre at best but the bigger problem was that I only saw 4 employees there all night, including the manager. Service was scarce and extremely slow - most of our glasses were empty throughout the meal. HUGE waste of $900. I’d hate to see this restaurant on a night when the menu was not already pre-determined...
We had a really great time at this cozy easily accessible restaurant on Magazine. The service by Adam was exceptional, the food was tasty and fresh. For starters, the boudin pork balls were nothing short of excellent, although I should warn that they’re very unexpectedly hot and I just about scorched the roof of my mouth, but other than that, it had me yearning for more. For mains, the pork chop with sweet potatoes complemented each other nicely, while my partner enjoyed the black drum with risotto, garnished with arugula. For dessert, we ended the night with the very rich chocolate flavored flourless chocolate cake that swam in a shallow custard sauce. All things considered we can definitely see ourselves returning. The food came out in a timely manner, the layout felt quite spacious with the high ceilings, and full width wall mirror. And once again, the service was very warm and welcoming. I do recommend this place as a solid date night spot and even for a small group of friends, 4-6.
The crabmeat mac and cheese was delicious!!! The quail was also good. The scallops were okay, but it was my first time eating scallops and I’m just not a fan I don’t think it was the cooking. However, the shrimp and the corn dish that came with the scallops were really good. This place also has the freshest hot bread.
Delicious appetizers including the boudin balls and the carpaccio. The scallops, drum and quail are the best bets on the menu, along with a side of the wedge fries, which are spectacular. The pork chop was tasty but tough, despite the promo of it being brined. The people next to us got the burger, which looked really good.
Early dinner and we had the place to ourselves for a while. Blaine was our server and he was great. Oysters, steak and scallops were awesome. Didn’t much like the quail it was a little tough. Shrimp and grits was really good, as well.
Really enjoyed our first visit and plan to come back soon. Pic of my hubby and stepdaughter with me photo bombing shows the restaurant vibe. Fun night for us!
Delicious meal with excellent service! Will definitely return.
Ambiance is good and service is nice and quick, but a major downside is that the food is bland
Christmas Eve was my 2nd time eating at Apolline w/in a 3 week period. The food and service was as great the second time around as the first. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Christmas Eve
Rachel, our waiter, was great!
