Apolline is a charming little boutique restaurant tucked away on Magazine Street. The food? Excellent. Creative, flavorful, and well-prepared. If your priority is a solid meal and you’re not too concerned with the service, this place might work for you. We called ahead to confirm vegetarian options and made a reservation noting we were celebrating three special occasions. While we were acknowledged when we walked in, that’s where the warmth ended. Our server never mentioned our celebrations and made no real effort to connect or engage with us. The service was blunt and impersonal. One dish had to be returned after just two bites, and we were told we’d have to pay full price for a replacement. The vegetarian option was also charged at the same price as a full omelet—no accommodation or flexibility, just a flat approach. There’s also a 4% kitchen fee tacked onto your bill to "support the kitchen staff." Honestly, I’d rather the meal prices be slightly higher and know the staff is being compensated fairly, instead of feeling like the owners are passing that responsibility onto the diners. Bottom line: If you care more about what’s on the plate than the experience surrounding it—and you’re not price sensitive—give Apolline a try. But if service, attentiveness, or value matter to you, this may not be the best fit.

We came here to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and were totally excited about everything this restaurant had to offer. The flavor and the cooking were enticing and delicious! My husband said it was the best pork chop he had ever had. The service was attentive, and the atmosphere was warm, cozy and inviting. We will definitely rely come back next time we are in NOLA. .

We ordered scallops on maque choux and shrimp with fried green tomatoes. Very tasty dishes. It’s summer so the place was fairly empty…so very quiet (much different from previous occasions at this restaurant). Great meal.

Marc was a personable and attentive server. His recommendations were spot on! It seemed like the restaurant was out of several items while we were there, but I understand that these things are out of their control these days. The restaurant offered alternative recommendations and allowed substitutions due to these issues. The crab gnocchi appetizer was delicious, as was the scallop entree! The ambience is fantastic. Appoline is set in a house on Magazine, and the dining room is warm and welcoming. This restaurant is great for a variety of occasions.

Booked a table for 6 for Father’s Day brunch. Our server was sweet but very clinical in the amount of touches she had at our table. The food was very overpriced for the quality and took quite a long time to get delivered even though the restaurant was only half full. The hash browns were cold to the touch and had clearly been sitting in the window a long time. The burger was the incorrect temperature. The “hollandaise” was a weird broken hybrid of Dijon and Mayo, not actual hollandaise. Our server did not ask why many of us weren’t eating our food and if everything was okay after dropping off the dishes. I had a good brunch here several years ago, so I hope the restaurant recommits to improved service and food quality.

The service was great. And so were the fried green tomatoes. That’s the only nice thing I can say about our experience. That’s where it ends. The wedge salad is not a wedge. It’s three pieces of bib lettuce, three grape tomatoes cut in half, a little bacon and so much dressing. The salmon avocado toast was way too salty. The toast was so hard you couldn’t even cut it with a knife. The corn bisque was so bland. We sent the salad back but then we felt we couldn’t complain about the other parts of the meal. We just sucked up the cost of the inedible food and called it a day. Would not recommend and won’t be back.

I never write reviews because restaurants are rarely so impressively deserving of a review. Apolline deserves a Michelin star. The flavors emit an incredible umami and the creative twists yield unfathomable flavors. You will not regret making a reservation here.
