My group of girlfriends treated ourselves to a fun day in the city before the Saints game. Be sure to ask for ACE, best service ever. He took care of us - all that we ask for and more. Great time and yummy food. Get the mini baked Alaska for sure.

Enjoyed the 3 course lunch special, beautiful salad, soft shell crab with rice (needed a vegetable side)......bread pudding for dessert.......all delicious.....service impeccable as always......they have discontinued their 25 cent cocktails but offered bottomless champagne for $16........worth having a wonderful meal experience in one of New Orleans classic restaurants.

What a lovely Sunday lunch experience at Antoines. Our server, Zyjuan, was very personable with his big smile and also knowledgeable regarding the menu and food preparation. We will come back often.

We were hungry but it just didn’t deliver. First we were sat with tourists. The server talked our ear off while we just wanted to eat. Oysters Rockefeller disappointed. Overcooked the oysters. They brought the wrong wine for me. We went elsewhere for dessert.

Food was average and underwhelming for what Antoine’s professes to be. Wait staff was not very attentive and the entrees took long to arrive. Dress code was not enforced. We ordered one of the three available Sauv Blancs. Eventually the waiter came back and said that bottle was out, but the “Sommelier recommends these two”. Wow, the other two on the list. And he did not bring the wine list with him to see the prices on the two bottles or to select something else.

As a New Orleans native, I was looking forward to showing my friends this iconic restaurant, however, the wait staff never missed an opportunity to interrupt our conversation - to push additional cocktails - and the entire meal felt rushed.
For lunch we decided to try the three course holiday dining experience. The soft shell crab was a pretty presentation with a flower tucked into it, but tasted quite bland. It was also the smallest soft shell crab I have seen.
I wish I had been able to feel proud of showing off the restaurant to my out of town guests, but I think they probably left hungry. How could that happen at a New Orleans restaurant?

Food was mediocre. Oysters Rockefeller (the specialty of the house) were virtually inedible. Service ok but not up to standard. Had to remind waiter several times of things he already said he was bringing i.e. bread water etc. Waiter auctioned the food “who had the chicken etc”. Menu was very limited. Place is clearly just relying on its long history and once outstanding food and service.

The waitstaff were wonderful and offered great recommendations. The Escargot Bourguignon was very good, as was the Pompano Pontchartrain. The pompano was light, flaky, and cooked to perfection.

We went to Antoines based on its reputation and a recommendation. We were unfortunately seated in the back room which had less atmosphere. We had good food - not great - but the weak part was the service. Our server was uninterested and unattentive. A pity - as it should have been a great evening.

After many years, still an outstanding establishment. The pandemic has had an impact with a less formal operation but still a class place. Of the four days eating my way thru New Orleans, this was the best stop.

Unfortunately, they appear to be surviving on their reputation. I had taken the time to share, in advance, a birthday celebration asking for a nice table and hoping for nothing more than a donut with a candle to celebrate the occasion. We arrived on time with plenty of open tables in the room adjacent to the street (including a window table) but were ushered to the back room and seated next to a large family gathering with loud voices and crying infants. We requested a different table as did three parties following ours that were escorted to the same table - all asked to be moved shortly after being seated. It took 20 minutes (truthfully 18 minutes) to order a cocktail. Fish dish was good but over priced and steak was overcooked. Waited when our dinner plates were cleared hoping for the donut and candle to no avail and eventually requested the check and left. If this is what you expect, accept and tolerate for a $200 meal then go for it. But knowing Nola dining venues, there are countless options that will be more attentive serving a decidedly better meal. Perhaps this is why there were an abundance of open tables when we arrived and equally as many tables (including the one adjacent to the loud family and crying infants) when we left.

In a word "disappointing."

Our party of four was very much looking forward to having a wonderful time. Our server said we would have exceptional food and impeccable service. Neither was the case. The vaunted Oysters Rockefeller were starters. Being from the Chesapeake Bay area and hosting oyster roasts, we know broiled oysters. Theirs were covered with a gray-green sludge that totally masked the brinely flavor of oysters. The entrees were late in arriving and mixed up. That would have been acceptable had they been creative and delicious, however, that didn't happen. The server was largely absent. Not absent, however, was a noise level that apparently required diners to speak at the top of their voices. Consequently, we felt as though our ears were under assault. Appreciating upscale dining in the New Orleans tradition, we were sadly disappointed in our overall experience.

Antoine's clearly has the legacy, style, and allure of an old New Orleans standard. I'm glad they survived Katrina and the downturn. Now they need a little pep in the kitchen and more practice for their waitstaff. The menu was strong, but the flavor lackluster. I did the prix fixe menu, but was underwhelmed. The wine pairings didn't match what was listed on the menu as they were "out" of everything advertised. Servers had a hard time keeping plates and orders straight. All of these issues are fixable, and hopefully they return to their old glory soon.

Overall good experience since it was our first time. My husband ordered the tasting menu with wine pairing. Each course called for a white wine but was served red. They fixed it but we had to keep pointing out that a “Chablis” isn’t a red wine. I think they were trying but staff needs more training I would say. Baked Alaska was good.
