Executive chef: Ralph Pausina

From the OpenTable editors: Antoine’s is the county’s oldest continuously operating restaurant and a special-occasion destination for its opulent setting and elegant, French-Creole fare. Sit in one of 14 gilded dining rooms to feast on favorites like oyster Rockefeller and soufflé potatoes, both original to the restaurant. Cap the meal with a classic baked Alaska or the house chicory coffee, laced with cognac and triple sec and flamed tableside—it’s New Orleans, after all.

There’s a reason this restaurant has been in business for almost 200 years. It’s a total class act. I have wanted to dine here for decades, and finally did so. It exceeded my expectations. Oysters Rockefeller is completely deserving of its reputation as the world’s greatest oyster recipe. I intend to eat here again, hopefully before too long. Thank you, Antoine’s.

What a disappointment. I had dined here years ago and remembered it as an old school fine dining experience. It has changed. My wine glass was dirty, when I pointed it out, the server took it away and poured the same wine into another glass. No apology or offer for a replacement. The food came out lukewarm and seemed like it had been sitting under a warmer. The quality was average. Antoines has history, but there are better places to eat for the money.

A wonderful experience! Our server went out of his way to help us enjoy our anniversary. He recommended dishes for us to try, encouraged us to tour the building and wine cellar, and even had a special dessert put together for us. I couldn’t recommend Antoine’s enough!

not worth the price. the dining room is so loud it’s hard to talk to your own table or even hear the waiter. the bread is closer to a hamburger bun than a baguette. the puffed potatoes tasted like they were fried in old oil, the salad was barely even a side salad, and the crème brûlée was completely unremarkable other than having a very thick custard. on top of this, the waiters didn’t come by often or recognize that the food was sitting uneaten on the table. so disappointing.

Food is what you would expect, but not great. Service was rushed for no reason given the restaurant wasn’t busy. Our entrees arrived 5 minutes after we placed our orders. Really disappointing experience. We were in and out in 45 minutes - not by our choice. Wouldn’t recommend. We had much better food and service in other French Quarter restaurants.

This is my second time at Antoine’s and both times I haven’t been overly impressed. We were sat in the front room which is not the best for ambiance along with our server wasn’t super attentive. Appetizers were the best part of the meal we got oysters and Brussels. Dinners were good but nothing to write home about. The baked Alaska is overly sweet and expensive
    Antoine'sResponded 2 days ago
Hi Mihkayla, thank you for your feedback. We're glad you enjoyed our oysters and Brussels, but sorry to hear that the service and ambiance did not meet your expectations this time. We value your input and will use it to improve. We hope you'll give us another chance to impress you.
