Executive chef: Ralph Pausina

From the OpenTable editors: Antoine’s is the county’s oldest continuously operating restaurant and a special-occasion destination for its opulent setting and elegant, French-Creole fare. Sit in one of 14 gilded dining rooms to feast on favorites like oyster Rockefeller and soufflé potatoes, both original to the restaurant. Cap the meal with a classic baked Alaska or the house chicory coffee, laced with cognac and triple sec and flamed tableside—it’s New Orleans, after all.

I try to visit an old school NOLA restaurant each time I visit. This time it was Antoine's and it did not disappoint. Loved the ambience. My food was excellent, with the Baked Alaska being the highlight. It was amazing. Our wait staff was excellent (TJ and Shelby, thank you!)

There was literally nothing good to say about this restaurant. It is very difficult to have a bad meal in New Orleans and this was it. It was loud, freezing cold, and NONE of the food arrived hot, the escargot in a metal dish was lukewarm. Cold puffed potatoes and oysters. Too much topping. The soft shell crab over fried to dryness. Everything was thrown on the plates no care to how it was served. Our old time waiter who appeared to be cute at first was actually rude. There was very little cake in the baked Alaska mostly ice cream. Truly awful.

Quintessential old NOLA experience. Good food, excellent service and amazing ambiance. Make sure to request to sit in the main dining hall since the front area is quite sterile.

This was not my favorite dining experience. The service was very nice but the food was ok in a town with great restaurants for much more reasonable prices. The chairs are hard, the place is loud which I could overlook if the food wasn’t so mediocre.

Apparently the oldest restaurant in New Orleans. Very nice place and good service. The escargot was excellent. The french onion soup was very bland. We love Oyster Rockefeller and Antione's is famous for it. The oysters were smothered in a spinach pate. We had a difficult time eating it. Definitely a different version than what we are used to. We ordered the pompano dish for our entree. Again, lacking flavor and dry. We enjoyed learning the history of the restaurant and they have multiple dining areas they seem to have different vibes.

Terrible experience. The oyster sampler was left to get cold, very disappointing way for it to be served. And the gulf fish was breaded in cornmeal not lightly dusted with flour, and way overcooked—totally inedible. Sadly for me I had to send it back, and after the oysters I just didn’t bother ordering anything else. At least our server removed the oysters and the fish from our check but I left hungry and disappointed—had been looking forward to this one. The place is just too large to manage quality control.
