From the OpenTable editors: Antoine’s is the county’s oldest continuously operating restaurant and a special-occasion destination for its opulent setting and elegant, French-Creole fare. Sit in one of 14 gilded dining rooms to feast on favorites like oyster Rockefeller and soufflé potatoes, both original to the restaurant. Cap the meal with a classic baked Alaska or the house chicory coffee, laced with cognac and triple sec and flamed tableside—it’s New Orleans, after all.

We came for the Mother’s Day Brunch, and we were very excited. The history, the reviews, and it was a special event for Mother’s Day. The servers were super attentive for the first 15 minutes, and then we hardly saw them. A different person came to drop the food off. The coffee was cold and two of the three meals were cold. The baked Alaska dessert was melted and really just milk and cookie. The best part was the Lemon Beignet that was a punch of lemony goodness. When I mentioned that our food was cold, I was dismissed. We loved the Trio who came to play us a song. That was the highlight. I HATE leaving negative reviews, but this was just not a good experience.

We were served by Darla and her brother (I'm sorry, I can't remember his name). They were excellent, kind, and attentive. They made great recommendations, and Darla went out of her way to accommodate my mother. The restaurant and the food were great, but I wanted to shout those two out specifically. Excellent service!

Some dishes were great others were just ok. Gumbo was particularly noteworthy. The service was excellent. We had a few miscues that management at the behest of our waiter made right comings on a few items much to their credit.

Kind of disappointed as I was looking forward dinner here. The room we were seated in was loud and noisy and the seats were very hard and uncomfortable. Our waiter must have been new as he got our first drink order wrong and was pretty much non existent thru most of the evening. Someone dropped off a loaf of bread and said they’d return with butter, they never did. Luckily a very kind near by waiter took pity on us and was very kind to go and get us some. We ordered the crabmeat appetizer and while plentiful with crabmeat the sauce was bland and there were no herbs etc in sight. Our entrees were better the fish pompano and chicken were quite nice. This place was well below what our expectations were

There’s a reason this restaurant has been in business for almost 200 years. It’s a total class act. I have wanted to dine here for decades, and finally did so. It exceeded my expectations. Oysters Rockefeller is completely deserving of its reputation as the world’s greatest oyster recipe. I intend to eat here again, hopefully before too long. Thank you, Antoine’s.

What a disappointment. I had dined here years ago and remembered it as an old school fine dining experience. It has changed. My wine glass was dirty, when I pointed it out, the server took it away and poured the same wine into another glass. No apology or offer for a replacement. The food came out lukewarm and seemed like it had been sitting under a warmer. The quality was average. Antoines has history, but there are better places to eat for the money.

Awesome place to celebrate our daughters graduation. The service was excellent and our server went above and beyond to make our evening memorable. The flaming Baked Alaska was the highlight of our night. I would definitely recommend.
