Anthony's at the Old Mill District - Bend
Good food. Oyster fest was going on. Three pies in a jar a worthwhile dessert.
Great happy hour cocktails and food. Also excellent weeknight 3 course meal Specials
So bummed. Usually go to Anthony’s anytime we travel around the NW. This experience was poor. The people are very nice. Service was good. The restaurant needs a bit of a “refresh” - looking worn.
Sadly, the bread was the best part of the meal. A big disappointment when you’re paying $38 for dinner. My crab cakes were “eh”. Pretty sure it was canned crab meat. My husband had steak oscar. Steak was supposed to be a filet but certainly was not the quality a person would expect. Veggies were overcooked and potatoes were gummy. My husband said “This tastes like we’re at Applebee’s, two for $20”. Staff were all nice, food just needs work, especially for the price.
I ordered the halibut dish. The halibut was as bland as could be. The mashed potatoes were ice cold. The only good thing on the plate were the sauteed vegetables. The service was okay. Price was obnoxious, $39 for the halibut. I won't go back. Too expensive for sub-par food and service.
Great value. Steak was cooked perfectly. Salad was loaded with bleu cheese. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive with a great sense of humor. Chocolate mousse dessert topped off a delicious meal. The roasted potatoes side dish didn't seem fresh (the only negative about the meal).
Great location on Old Mill district steps from REI. Excellent seafood with attentive helpful service.
Everything was delicious, but I especially enjoyed the steamed clam appetizer. The broth had an amazing taste and texture, perfect for dipping the warm bred slice brought to our table.
It was a great experience, it was our 3rd time there and we enjoyed
We went for our anniversary dinner during the lobster dinner promotion. The lobster was fresh and tender. We've had defrosted lobster. The Bend, OR location is magnificent. And the large spacious interior diffuses the noise. The service was just perfect. And what a value!
Server smelled of cigarettes...must have just come in to work if from a break. The actual service was fine, but the cigarette smell was off putting. The lobster was a little dry,
We made a reservation so we would get a good table instead we were seated right next to the kitchen and dish washing station very loud and unpleasant also for $30 a plate you would hope to get a side salad or soup or something not just rice that I didn’t even care for
Our waiter was great. We came to try the 3 course meal.
My partner’s fish was tasteless, I enjoyed my salmon.
As a former owner of a restaurant I understand portion control. Having said that the key lime pie in a tiny little dish was extremely disappointing and cheapened the experience.
Our experience was excellent as always. I highly recommend Anthonys!
The the food was perfectly prepared. I had items island due and my fish was moist and tasty! We also asked for the tempura asparagus and it was so delicious...thank you for making our date night wonderful
All good -- great server and food value was outstanding.
We had an amazing server! He made our evening very relaxed. We were celebrating our friends 40th Wedding Anniversary. Food was great!
The food was excellent the service was excellent but we came in at 4 o’clock for dinner and I don’t understand why you cannot be sit by a window seat they were three out of the five were open the whole time we were there and we had to sit back towards the back of the restaurant. I would think if they were open he would put people there first.
The service was excellent. Our waiter was super nice and everything we ordered came exceptionally fast. Was nice since we had a toddler with us.
Over priced for average food.
I’m new to Bend and my kids bought me a gift card to Anthony’s, do it was my first time visiting there. It was outstanding, the ambiance the food and the service great!
Very disappointing experience the other night. The service was incredibly poor and the food wasn’t well prepared or delivered correctly. It felt like an entirely new crew or perhaps the manager hadn’t planned the staffing correctly. We have always relied on Anthonys for a consistent good meal but this one missed the mark in a myriad of ways. I really hope it was just an off night but we will take it out of our rotation for a month or so and see if it straightens out after the holidays.
The bad - My shrimp was overcooked, they were out of crab, my husband's cioppino had very little fish, yet was $27.00 for basically a bowl of soup.
The good - beautiful location overlooking the river, friendly service, easy reservation app. and my steak was delicious and cooked perfectly.
Excellent food large portions. Server was excellent. Cocktails were fabulous
I would recommend to a friend but more training is required of the wait staff. Ordered two items and were told they did not have them only to find out later they had both and she did not apply herself to find out if they did or did not have two items. Sad situation. Service was also very slow and it might be because of the holidays and also some tables needed to be bused and the dining room needed some help. The fish and chips were a very small portion for the $$.
The environment is nice and great windows for a view, but service and food did not meet the mark this time around.
With all the great food options in Bend, I would avoid this spot. Seafood Olive Garden— higher price point
We’ve eaten at Anthony’s many times and this time the experience was very poor. Our service was extremely slow from beginning to end. The food was luke warm when arriving to our table. The steak was undercooked. We sent it back and still wasn’t cooked correctly, but we ate it anyway. The portions were smaller than usually, meaning the sides that accompanied the protein. I understand it was a holiday, but we showed up early before it was extremely busy and our expectations were high due to the fact we have dined there before (even a previous Christmas dinner). I wish it was like it use to be.
Great service and food. It was a pleasant night with my family.
Adrian was our server and he was excellent, knowledgeable and friendly. My wife ordered the crab fettuccine and Adrian graciously let her substitute spinach in place of zucchini. However, for a crab fettuccine there was very little crab. I ordered a steak medium well, with just a little pink. I got a very thin end cut and it was very well done, tough, and no pink. I ate "most" of it and left the center. Adrian offered to bring me another, but by then I didn't want another one. He graciously "comped" our appetizer and gave us a dessert to share, he did the best he could. I doubt that we will be back though. We were perfectly happy & willing to spend over $100 for dinner, which we did, including the wine. I doubt we will be back though.
Incredibly cold seated next to windows. And despite restaurant being only half-full, service was atrocious.
The food was very good, location is beautiful and service was good. However I was disappointed because I specifically went there to have one of their crab dishes and was told they weren’t available because the crab was being saved for the Steak Oscar special. I was able to have a seafood salad with extra shrimp substituted for the crab which was very good but I felt that since it is largely a seafood restaurant the seafood dishes shouldn’t be sacrificed for a steak dish. The interior of the restaurant was very nice but it was a bit noisy for easy conversation.
I wasnt impressed. The food was just ok and the portions were not great either. We more than likely wont return.
Always outstanding. Our favorite place. Many fine restaurants in Bend, but Anthony's is our go to place when we're looking for something special.
Waitress pleasant. Arrived for 5pm dinner. Place not busy. Ordered 3 dinner salads and 1 scallops dinner. Restaurant began to get busy. Dinners delivered promptly. Scallops dinner was very cool with sautéed vegetables cold and rice pilaf cold. Both lacking any taste. Had asked for more bread with food. Not delivered Had to leave table to find waitress. Found clearer who went looking. Waitress was clear across restaurant serving in bar. Waited several minutes for her to appear. Complained and she took plate from table and said she was getting manager. Then brought a cup of chowder I asked for while others were eating. 19-15 minutes later the manager came with replacement scallops dinner. Said she personally had overseen cooking. Again though rice and vegetables were only warm not hot though scallops now cooked through. Was offered a free dessert for my troubles. Thought the dinner should have been comped. Ate dinner there 2 weeks before. Had crab cakes dinner. Food was only fair. When you go to a seafood restaurant you expect the seafood would be great. Have had dinner at Anthony’s. In Seattle. Great 👍 bend disappointing.
The food at this Anthony's location was okay but not as good at other Anthony's Restaurants we have tried -- acceptable but rather ordinary preparation and presentation. Service was spotty -- when we needed more ketchup, our waiter was nowhere to be found and my husband had to get up from the table and ask for it.
I had a bowl of the crab and corn chowder for lunch and it was really really good!
Main course linguine with lobster was overly rich tasting ( too much cream? ) with pieces of thin tough asparagus and dry ( oversteamed? ) lobster.
Great service and food
Loved the lobster specials - only available in Nov. Ari, our server, was awesome, albeit really really busy. Always love this place.
Food was good. We would like to see tempura asparagus again. Reasonable prices.
Over all was pretty good, however the Dungeness Crab Salad had only 1 piece of crab was pathetic.
