Angler San Francisco
Went the last night before the madness and shutdown. And grimaced a bit when the previously not-unusual spiel was given that all dishes are meant to be shared. The radicchio salad is a standout unique signature dish! Everything tasted and was presented well, though some of the dishes sizing is a letdown. View of the Bay Bridge is wonderful.
Celebrated my BF 40th Birthday here. The exterior and interior were exquisite! Food + Service was really on point! Besides the food, the cocktails and beverages were carefully crafted + super wonderful! I would share this place with everyone and will be back 😉
Incredible hospitality and delicious thoughtful cuisine. If you enjoy putting your dining experience into the hands of others definitely let them cook for you. House made butter is outstanding, wine list extensive and all around one of the more enjoyable meals in recent memory.
Food excellent, service attentive but a little over the top, very expensive
Superb cuisine, beautiful decor and location. Only two things need refining at Angler: the place is very noisy in the evenings, and wait staff interrupted conversation at our table many times.
Fantastic food, imaginative menu, great wine selection...and if you like taxidermy, it's heaven.
The restaurant's menu is designed as shared plates. We thought the food was not outstanding and super expensive for what you get. The cocktails and wine were also very expensive and the pours were not big.
Honestly did not feel that it was worth the money. The music was way too loud and did not fit - 90s rock really?!

Good cavalier, oysters and scallops. Roasted vegetables also hit the spot. Nice burgundy wines to pair. Service is borderline stuffy/pretentious. Great for a warm day when you can sit outside and just grab a glass of wine/appetizer.
Good food & stellar service, but stupidly expensive
The only negative was the 70’s pop music. But the food, cocktails, service were outstanding and unique.

The staff seems overwhelmed by the number of tables. The music is so loud that the backwaiter could not hear and tried multiple times to clear our plates even though we told him we were not finished. The oysters and sea urchin were fantastic but the swordfish and scallops were only fair especially considering the price. The flavor was bland the dishes were served cold and only seared on one side. This restaurant is way overpriced for the quality of the food, service and ambiance. We would definitely not return.
The service is very solid all were friendly and knew their stuff! Food was good the share concept was nice and the portions were fair. A but pricey but I didn't have to pay! LOL!
Overall good, we indicated the occasion was for a birthday. Staff acknowledged the birthday person in the beginning, but in the end we did even get a candle or birthday gesture in the end at all. Felt bad when we left.
The food & service was great, but I ordered The wine and after looking at my bill today I was charged the wrong wine. I ordered The Vincent Pinard Flor at $77 a bottle, the wine apparently brought to me was The Vincent Pinard Chene Marchand at $140! I was brought the wrong wine and over charged $63! Please refund my $63!!!

Beautiful room, attentive service, creative cooking. But some spices and sauces overpowered the food.
The intelligence displayed in the vegetables made us proud. If one restaurant said SF now, this is it. I will go again.
Food was absolutely amazing. Definitely recommend getting the quail, it’s so flavorful and delicious. The whole dining experience is well planned and the family style is amazing since you get to experience more food options. Would come back and would recommend.
Incredible dinner experience
Outstanding service, great food, but...$300 a person for a tasting menu that is mostly vegetables. Like cmon...most of these ingredients you can find at Whole Foods and prepare yourself. Nothing really mind-blowing and I can only imagine this restaurant has INSANE margins given the ingredients. I won’t be returning, rather would spend $300 on an Omakase with luxurious ingredients that leaves me full.
It was very good like usual. I was a little disappointed that they took the New Orlean off the dessert menus and hoping they will put it back on in the future
amazing flavors, good portion size, and very creative. perhaps only one dish fell short, out of many. a bit of an overbooking issue forced us to wait 1/2 hour, followed by a mistake that resulted in our table being given to others, but that made us go to the bar where we had some pretty darn amazing mixed cocktails.

Service was poorly coordinated and not what we would expect for a one Michelin. Food was excellent.
Great space and super concept, everything is cooked over an open flame! Beautiful open kitchen. Service is spot on, gorgeous view.
Good not great. Service was great. Food was good. Dungeness crab was better than the lobster. Have to say that the music was terrible and distracting. Additionally, the stuffed fish around the perimeter walls seem really tacky.
Food was staged and took to long. The food was just ok but the restaurant is very nice. Lobster, did not have much flavor, other dishes were just ok, no wow factor.
Many timing lapses with our waiter. Brought wrong cocktails. Waited 20 minutes for cocktails. Told us of how our sequencing of our meal would arrive and then totally the opposite. Overall a very expensive dinner for good food and mediocre service. With all the service personnel that were there nobody was orchestrating the flow and timing over staffed and under performed
Music way too loud
Wine glass smelled like soap. Please smell test wine glasses before serving them to customers
Food was good and original. Fried quail was a bit of a miss, but it is good that the chef experiments.
Prices a little high
My husband has a severe peanut allergy and we let our server know. He ended up having an allergic reaction. When he called to discuss the matter of possible cross contamination, the manager never called him back.
Great experience overall! Got an excellent view of Bay Bridge as per request. Food is top notch. Fresh and healthy menu items! Service was very attentive.
It was great. Exactly what I wanted. You pay for what you get and Angler is on the more expensive side. But 100% worth it! I would go there weekly if I could.
Was expecting to have a "wow" on each of the dishes, unfortunately several were just "OK". The fire fly squid and blow fish tails did nothing for me. Rather bland and did not make me want another bite. The blow fish tails were tough and dry.
Hen of the forest mushrooms were wonderful, urchin and desserts were well done
Best service I have ever experienced in a restaurant.
Staff very sensitive to my food allergies. But due to them I was unable to have the full food experience.
