Peruvian
Andina draws inspiration from the native culinary traditions of Peru, as well as from the contemporary cooking by some of Peru’s leading chefs. Owner Doris Rodriguez de Platt, collaborates with Andina’s kitchen team to develop a menu that celebrates her family’s Andean roots, interweaving the ideas and techniques of both Criollo and Novo-Andean cuisines. The kitchen sources native and local ingredients to create dishes at once traditionally rooted and personally inspired. Founded in 2003, Andina emerged as one of the region’s leading Peruvian restaurants and continues to generate wide appeal within the food communities in and around Portland, and much further afield.

We have dined at Andina multiple times as a couple and this time brought friends. They enjoyed it as much as we have. The server was very knowledgeable of the complete menu, shared a few tips, and made the experience even more enjoyable. As usual, the food was excellent also.

The food was remarkable. The seafood was fresh and expertly prepared. The beef was rich and luscious. The wines were well suited for the meal and the service was attentive and pleasant without intrusive. One of the great dining experiences we've had.

I had a wonderful meal with suggestions from my server, as my eyes are bigger than my stomach, and I would have ordered too much food because it all sounded so good. As I was walking back to my hotel they called to let me know that I had left my book on the table. I hadn't even realized it and they allowed me to pick it up the next morning. Great customer service!

Wonderful restaurant, wonderful food - the entire experience was sublime. Three of us shared 5 small plates + 2 full sized entrees. It would have been a bit much, but one of the diners in our party is a young very athletic man, and he eats for two! Cocktails were great, comprehensive wine list. You can't go wrong w/ the flan for dessert. Highly recommnd this restaurant - it was perfect.

The food was incredible. I was there with my mom and we had two of the small plates, and shared an entree. The staff were easy to talk with and had very good recommendations. I want to come back and take my partner!

This restaurant is filled with wonderful energy and of course fabulous food. Everything was cooked perfectly, and we loved the stuffed avocado appetizer! My husband's dish, the tuna, was incredibly flavorful. Hats off to our wonderful waiter who understood our issues with fragile wine glasses! Inside joke.

Food is always superb. A bit noisy and very hard to get a table same day on a Saturday. Book at least a week in advance for a good time slot on the weekend. Otherwise fantastic as usual.

We had a 5:30 reservation but were not seated in the main dining room ..but placed downstairs in an open courtyard type area where we could hear a lot of kitchen noise.

The restaurant is amazing and this has never happened before but it was very disappointing , since we had specifically made early reservations and there were still tables for two open in the main restaurant dining area. ?????

We came to Andina two years ago. It was a beautiful experience. Our server was so sweet and courteous. I think he made the food taste even better than it was. I have been waiting to go back since. Last week I finally got my chance. My wife and her Niece and I had dinner at Andina (my choice). When I made the reservation, I requested to sit in the main dining room, as there was a warning of sorts on the Opentable page about potentially being sat somewhere different if it was busy. The Manager of the restaurant communicated with me and told me we were all set. The dining room is very nice. White linen. Bustling with energy. It is a good experience. The service this time around was accurate, but felt rushed and impersonal. The food was good and interesting, but not what I remembered from before. The Peruvian potato-two cheese timbale was everyone's favorite and I would go back JUST FOR THAT. And the food was pretty good, but something was missing from the experience of our previous visit. We each had two cocktails, and we felt all six were weak. Very weak in fact. Sadly, I do not have the same desire to return to Andina as I did before. With all the great restaurants in Portland, it was possibly my last last time.

Food was awesome and served quickly. Andina has a great variety of dishes that excite the senses. The only drawback is the noise level. It is hard to talk especially if you are at a larger table.

A waiter spilled water all over my Louis Vuitton. Their way of apologizing was taking $20 off the bill. That’s a slap in the face for messing up my $1500 purse.

The food was mediocre at best. Way too expensive for the simple food I could have made at home. The chicken entree was dry as was the duck. Our appetizer dishes were boing and not exceptional. We won’t be coming back.

We told the server about a shell fish and nut allergy. However, after eating some food my boyfriend started to have a reaction. When we called to ask if there could have been cross contamination with anything (that way we knew what he was reacting to) and they wouldn’t say that it happened. Food was food just wish they would’ve been more careful.

Make sure that silverware and appetizer plates are there before the food. We had to wait for silverware and small plates after our food was delivered to our table.

I had never been to Andina before, and went there because a friend gave us a gift card as a wedding gift. I had read online about the high quality dining experience, and also received encouragement from a Peruvian friend that the food was excellent. When i dine i am also cognizant of the ambiance - the lighting, the noise level, and the tone of the waiters. And I was not disappointed! We had the seafood Causa and beef empanadas for appetizers and then shared the pepper encrusted ahi tuna main dish. Well prepared and garnished with onions, and surrounded by tiny red peppers in a lightly sweet sauce. Our waiter, Manuel, was quite helpful in selecting dishes, and very attentive to our needs. Such an enjoyable evening. We will definitely be back!

Amazing dining experience. My wife and I sat at the bar and we were lucky enough to be served by one of your tenured bartender that was there over a decade. (I'm sorry I forgot his name) Food was amazing and delicious. They had a lot of options for my wife that has a gluten allergy. I wish we had the stomach to eat more that night. We'll definitely be back.
