Very romantic setting for my date and I. Friendly service. Food was amazing and delicious dessert to end the night. Thank you so much!
Out of ribs was bad and other meat dish was chewy. Other entries good
One of my favorite restaurants. Always great food and service.
Andina never disappoint us. Its a must checkbox for us whenever we visited Portland!
Great atmosphere with amazing food. The waitress was helpful in her suggestions for the amount of food we should get and providing her top recommendations. Everything we ordered was excellent.
We had an excellent meal at Andina. Ordered two small plates, two entrees and dessert and were not disjointed by any of it.
amazing. If you've not tried Andina you should! love it!
I am peruvian so I feel myself confident to give my opinion about Andina. Andina is a very nice place to introduce yourself to peruvian gastronomy. Good atmosphere, very kind service, a green "behind the scene" management. There are some small details to adjust in taste to make but very good level to start (for a peruvian eating peruvian food). It is very high recomendable place. Thanks for your kind experience!.
Everything was fabulous from the services to the spices. So flavorful & fun. The only thing we were missing is I think there was live music playing somewhere in the restaurant but we couldn’t hear it.
We have been to Andina several times over the years that it has been open. It’s still quite excellent. The food is creative with a strong Peruvian component. The dining room is lively and elegant.
We had an outstanding server. The Sangria was delicious
Had a great time for our anniversary. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and friendly. Helped us pick out the right amount of food and the best tastes for what we wanted.
Our server was nothing short of phanominal The food too was fantastic. “Flavor dance”.
Even with all the great choices, this is a must do for Portland!
Always love Andina, for lunch or dinner. We went to Peru last year and love Andina's authentic cuisine. Perfection!
The sommelier helped us choose an excellent wine, and the waitstaff was very attentive.
Recently visited for our anniversary and everything was delightful! Our server was knowledgeable of the cuisine and loved that she recommended speaking with their sommelier - wine expert. If we find ourselves in Portland again we will definitely make another stop here.
For two of us, we ordered six tapas plates, each from a different menu section, plus a cocktail and a dessert. The food is perfectly fine, but neither executed well enough nor interesting enough to match the prices. There are so many great options in Portland that Andina did not impress us much by comparison. This was our first time at eating here but it felt like the kind of restaurant that was probably at the top of the heap over a decade ago and has not evolved much, coasting on reputation, location and maybe tourism. The wait staff was excellent, but the host staff was not especially attentive - we arrived 10 minutes before our reservation, and were seated 10 minutes AFTER our reservation. Meh plus.
Wonderful food, excellent staff!
Great place, I would recommend it to others!
Over all good restaurant. Very welcoming. The mother of the owner stops to welcome and greet you. A little bit pricy for the food portions and quality. I love Peruvian food and always have high expectations. We tried the cebiche, la paella de mariscos and flan. All was good, but I tried better in NY.
The wine was a bit overpriced but overall a good time
I would rate it outstanding if it wasn't for those mushy under cooked tamales that should have been removed from the table after we couldn't bring ourselves to eat them ---and the bill! Everything else was absolutely phenomenal! We ordered a couple of wonderful cocktails and four small plates to share as a couple. We were blown away by the quality and creativeness in each dish until the tamales. Such a simple item, but if not done well, or even okay, ends up being disastrous. Ours came last, which shouldn't have happened anyways--you save the BEST for last, and then they were mushy past the first bite and lacked any complexity. In fact they were not even cooked through! We ended the meal SO disappointed, especially when we did not eat them, pointed it out to the server who brushed it aside with "people either love 'em or don't", and still paid for them. We only fly into Portland once a year or so, and this was our only dinner spot planned for the quick trip. Sad times, Andina! We didn't even stay for dessert this time since they couldn't offer to remove the uneaten luke-warm tamale mush from our bill. We may give it another go in a few years, but never will we order those awful tamales again. We highly recommend the yukon potatoes with crab salad and spicy tuna. Best eats on our annual Portland trip by far! ---aside from those tamales.
My wife and I ate at Andina during an overnight getaway to Portland, on the recommendation of a friend. Upon arrival, we were promptly seated, and the service was impeccable throughout the meal. The restaurant is three levels, but the staffing was outstanding, and everyone from the host that seated us, the waiter that served us, and even the between course bus service ran like a Swiss watch. SUPERB service can make or break an experience, and Andina nails it.
And the food - absolutely authentic Peruvian dishes, delicious. Their Pisco Sours are the real deal - you must start with a Pisco Sour.
We loved our experience and we will be back.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere . Always enjoying a meal here and never stopped loving this special
I have been to Andina MANY times and this was by far the worst experience I have had on the Portland dining scene not to mention, it was the place I had chosen to celebrate our wedding and my husband's 65th birthday. Not only did we have to wait for a booth, but the service that followed was incredibly slow and it was not until the check was delivered that the server apologized citing a large party that had backed up the kitchen. The wrong drinks were brought and one of the managers delivered our entrees one at a time. The noise level was outrageous and overall, everything was just 'off'.
Outstanding, a culinary adventure with a bit of New World, Latin and Continental flair
Absolutely loved our experience in the restaurant. Food and service was wonderful! Be careful what you leave in view in your car. Ours was broken into in the KEEN lot across the street from the restaurant. They broke the window and took all of our bags.
Always an adventure when dining at Andina. The luncheon menu had some incredible dishes. Service was excellent. Can't wait for my next visit.
First time and it was lovely with creative dishes and seasonings. We will return!
The food is incredible, great ambiance and the staff is quite friendly!
nice place with large see through windows. It's not just asthetic. The room has a lots of toxin clearing plants which clean up naturally. On the menu Saltados was pretty gooda and the desserts were great too
The tapas were wonderful. But the quinoa risotto I had was awful. No flavor. No creativity. It’s like something I could have gotten as a frozen meal from Whole Foods. Really bad. All the other food was fabulous but the quinoa ruined it all. Not sure we want to return.
We enjoyed our meal there. I would say the lamb shank scored higher than the pork chop which was asked to be cooked moist and came dry. The lamb shank had a yummy sauce and they traded out the beans for potatoes for me. I would say that the service was great. Apologies when the wait for a dish was too long and some bread and sauces as an atonement gesture. Our server Alice was very knowledgeable about everything that was served.
Next time I plan on trying the paella which everyone said was great.
Wine list is huge but very expensive (even by California standards) and corkage is $25 if you bring our own....
The food was great but the service was disjointed. We were in the first seating of the evening but it did not seem as though the waitstaff was quite organized.
Excellent food and service. The restaurant is very loud.
Excellent food. I wish they would put acoustic tiles in or something so it was not so noisy.
Things were poor and strange from the moment we were seated. We were seated with the menus. Server walked by several times and never made contact. The hostess came and asked if we wanted something to drink. I assumed she might also be a server. So we ordered the sparkling water. She came back and served it like if it was a grand cru. We each got half an inch of water in our glasses. I informed her we were ready to place the order. She marched off. The server finally came and said he heard we were ready to order. No greeting. We ordered. The ceviche was decent but there were more onions than fish. The yuka side was not a side but served all alone, overly salted and not very crispy. Dull. My mom ordered Combinado del mar however the vegetarian version was brought. I had to go fetch the server to explain the issue. Her dish was taken and soon replaced. Dull and tasteless best described my dishes Yuca rellena + Humitas de queso. Doggy bag for the dogs. Dessert. Sublime con lucuma. Dull and tasteless. Never had such boring mousse. Didn't finish. The check. As dessert was served we were given 2 little Alfajores for 'the mix up'. When it came time to pay the server informed us that a manager was needed to clear that up from the bill. Are you kidding? Why would you add that to the bill in the first place? (please dont say inventory). As we were waiting for the bill a server was setting up a table for dinner. His method? Toss forks + knifes roughly in the area were they should end up for later arrangement. So the review card comes with the initial detailed bill. No pen so can't fill that out. Send the cc for payment. Booklet comes back with signature receipts but no review card. Now that I have a pen I can't even use it for anything but pay $90 for the most overrated experience I have ever had in Portland. Yes I could have asked for it but I didn't because we were done with this place. The local food truck did a better job at providing flavor. Never Again
The food was tasty and the server was very knowledgeable about the menu and recommend some delicious great dishes being our first time there. We also went for our 5th wedding anniversary which they surprise us with dessert on the house!
