This is the second or third visit of mine to Andina. Always a great restaurant to go to with delicious options
First cabin! Food awesome. Staff awesome. Cleanest restaurant in Portland!
Wonderful restaurant, amazing food and nice vibe. Prices are very fair. Staff was extremely kind. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great restaurant in Portland.
Thank you very much! We appreciate the kind words, and I hope you have a great night.
Excellent food as always, with superb service! A great place to celebrate, to share important moments, or just enjoy great food with someone important to you!
Thank you! So glad to hear that you enjoyed everything. We hope to see you again soon!
Great ambience, seafood was outstanding, non-seafood was just ok. I would recognise the variety of ceviches and quality was really interesting. Not very into fried yuca, we ordered chicken too, wasn’t anything exceptional. I liked the place and service was great.
The food and service are top-notch. It's a bit noisy, but not so much that you can't have a conversation at a regular volume. We go back time after time to celebrate family birthdays and for special occasions. Andina is one of our favorite restaurants.
Thank you, Shannon! It's nice knowing that we can play a part in giving a family a great experience. We look forward to giving you more of those moments!
Fantastic food and service! Loved it and will be back.
Thank you, Shawn! Glad to hear that you enjoyed everything. See you next time!
food and service were amazing! Highly recommended!
Thank you! Glad to hear that you enjoyed everything. Hopefully you'll visit again soon!
A Portland must. Staff, food, atmosphere can’t be beat.
Thank you, Andrew! A very nice compliment, considering all that Portland has to offer. We hope to see you again soon!
No complaints. However, my daughter's boyfriend states Andina has the best food in Portland,
and he's been all over the world. So there.
Thank you, and thank your daughters boyfriend! A very nice compliment from someone who may know a thing or two. We hope to see you again soon, Joe!
Always dependable food.
We were first seated next to a large and noisy table but were immediately moved when I complained.
Lovely decor, nice waiters.
Great to hear that our host team could accommodate you! Sometimes things can get loud (this is a pretty common problem for lots of restaurants), however it helps us immensely when someone lets us know that they would prefer something a little more quiet. Hopefully we may see you again soon!
Our lunch was a great experience. From the moment we walked in, we were struck by the lovely ambiance -- nice decor and soft Peruvian music.
I started with a pisco sour and my wife chose a dry Chilean white.
Then, we opted to try four tapas -- empanadas stuffed with meat, avocado stuffed with crab and shrimp, stuffed fried yucca and chicken chunks on skewers. All were very well made. We took a Peruvian cookie home for dessert.
Our server, Mollie, was attentive and well-versed in Peruvian culture. She knew a lot about the dishes and made some nice recommendations
All in all, a great visit. We will be back for dinner.
So nice to hear this! Mollie has been doing extremely well since she has started serving here, and we will make sure to let her know that her guests feel the same way. Have a great night, and we hope to see you again!
Always good food and excellent service! I always try to bring friends here when they’re visiting PDX.
Thank you for the kind words, and for bringing your friends here too! We'll see you the next time they're in town.
Reservation was in the main dining room. Food and service is ALWAYS great. I just don’t remember that many tables so closely packed in. We got a booth, which was comfortable for the four of us, however, getting to the table was awkward. I felt like I was interrupting other patrons meals while walking to our table or getting in and out to the washroom. Tables nearby were too close to each other and it was impossible to walk between tables without bumping into chairs, coats and purses hanging from the backs of chairs. I’m not sure if they have a place to hang coats. Many of the chairs from one table were bumping into the chairs from adjacent tables. If you have a table for two, your table is too close to the wall and you will be bumping into the art on the wall. I heard people request another table because they felt like they were too close to other tables. If you like a cozy vibrant atmosphere, this is it. If you want a romantic quiet place to visit, you may need to ask where that would be located in the restaurant.
Hello! Sorry to hear about your seating. If you find yourself here again (hopefully), please let us know where your ideal table would be, and we will try our best to get you there. Have a good night, and maybe we will see then!
We enjoyed our evening at Andina. Service and food preparation was superb.
Thank you Nancy! So glad that you enjoyed everything. See you next time!
Food was a little pricey, but was absolutely amazing! I lived in Peru for 2 years, and Andina had the best alfajores I’ve had in my life. The anticuchos were by far my favorite plate, but everything else was delicious as well. They even had Cusqueña! The waitress was super friendly as well. Honestly was an overall great experience! If they’re looking to add things to the menu, I would have loved to see some chicharrón con mote or pollo a la brasa!
Hello Emma! Thank you for the suggestions, I know those are very classic dishes. We are so pleased that you enjoyed everything, especially knowing that you've had food in Peru and you know what it should be like. Hopefully we may see you again!
Happy Birthday! Thank you for celebrating it with us.
Outstanding recommendations from my server! Every course was a delightful flavor!
Good food and I liked the little birthday treat :)
Happy Birthday! Thank you for spending it with us.
Great food cute place. Service excellent
Thank you! Hopefully we may see you again.
Very sad experience. This is the 5th time I go to your place. I normally take a friend for his or her birthday and this time food was not good because it was super cold. I felt very bad with my friend. I wanted to return her dish but she was too ashamed to do it. All dishes we ordered were cold. I highly talk about your place and feel proud taking friends there but unfortunately will no longer do it.
Andina is one of my favorite restaurants in Portland. The owner stopped by and told us many details about her homeland of Peru and recommendations for travel. She is such an amazing person and I will always remember our conversation with her. The atmosphere is lively, the food was delicious, and the waitress was wonderful. We will be back many times on our future visits to Portland.
Absolutely fantastic. Enough said.
One of the best seafood experiences we've had. While noisy, my partner and I could still hear each other relatively easily. Staff are really pleasant.
Thank you! Honored to be ranking so high on your list of seafood experiences. See you next time!
Amazing! Our favorite place to take out of town guests...
We are honored to be the spot you bring your guests! Thank you.
This was their New Year's Eve prixe fixe meal. The selections were quite extensive. They advertised a four course meal but the first course was a tiny appetizer which tasted good but not a course. The food was solid but not as good as their regular dining days.
Thank you for spending New Years with us! Sorry to hear about the food not being the same as it usually is. Hopefully this wont deter you from stopping by again so we can have a second chance!
We were there for New Year’s Eve dinner and even with all of extra hoopla and business we had a wonderful meal with excellent service. Andina’s is truly exceptional in providing a great, memorable dining experience.
Thank you for spending New Years Eve with us! It was certainly a night full of "hoopla", so I'm glad that you thoroughly enjoyed yourself in the midst of all of it. Have a great night and happy new year!
The food and the ambiance was great, but our server April was the best!
Thank you, Celeste! I will make sure to pass this on to April.
Had an excellent New Year's prix fixe menu. The restaurant was crazy, in a good way, lots of energy, excitement, live music and waiters somehow not crashing into each other while providing excellent service. We will return!
Thank you, Mike! It is always nice to hear good feedback after putting in a lot of hard work. Almost as good as knowing that our guests went home happy! Have a great night and a happy new year.
The 4 course menu is great for most, but I was hoping for different choices. Still, the food and service were outstanding
Thank you, Will! Sorry about the choices, we will try to do better next year. Hopefully we will see you then!
Great Portland restaurant that actually takes reservations! Can't go wrong and has lots of GF options.
Thank you, Dwight! It is a pleasure to be able to accommodate you and other people who may have dietary preferences or restrictions. See you next time!
We had the New Years eve dinner and it could not have been any better.
So glad to hear that you enjoyed everything! Have a nice night, and a Happy New Year.
Went out to Andina for New Year’s Eve! They had a 4 course menu for the night. Incredible! Awesome night! Reminded me of why it’s one of my favorite restaurants!
Thank you very much! It was a busy night for all of us, so it's always nice to know that we hit our mark and sent guests home happy. Hopefully we see you next NYE as well!
We had an enjoyable time but the offerings for NYE varied greatly. The Mahi-Mahi dish was flavorless and over cooked and the side rice was cold. We ate abt 5:30 so early seaters. The beef was very good- large in comparison to fish dish and was better. The paella like dish was very good. Dessert offerings were good. For the price 80$ pp plus 20% tip at least a glass of wine or simple drink would have been nice! I’ve eaten at Andina a lot on different occasions- sadly NYE did not live up to past experiences.... but still a fan, just would not come for NYE again.
Hello Chris! Sorry to hear about your recent experience on NYE with us. I hope we were able to fix that Mahi dish for you! See you next time, even if it is not New Years.
Happy Birthday, and thank you for spending it with us!
For its price and reputation, Andina failed to deliver. Appetizers dull. Greens were less than fresh, thrown carelessly in a pile. Mahi Mahi for the fish entree, really? The only element rising above were the desserts, incredibly good. Service was stoic, unengaged.
It’s always great going back to Andina. They changed the menu a little bit since our last visit. I really liked the new additions and I also appreciated that they have kept some of the old favorites like Lomo Saltado. Overall another great experience
So glad to hear that you enjoyed the new menu! Change is always a little difficult, but we sincerely appreciate some positive feedback. Thank you, and have a great night!
Check-in process/seating was in a timely manner. We ordered beverages and we were told that the bar ran out of an ingredient for one of their featured non-alcoholic beverages. Instead of the server recommending a different beverage, I had to ask for a suggestion, which he finally recommended a plain lemonade/limeade (nothing extraordinary about it; I ended up getting a Sprite instead of a refill). We ordered appetizers and our main course at the same time; it took 40 minutes from when our finished appetizer plates were collected for our main courses to arrive. Appetizers (scallops and fried yuca) were tasty. The broth of the seasonal fish (mahi mahi) was bland. Yellow tuna was average. For dessert, we ordered a churro-like offering and then were told that they had run out of the pastry earlier in the evening. Server did not bother recommending another dessert. Word of caution, online menu is not accurate to what is being served in the restaurant. There are plenty of other options in Portland to choose from to enjoy. If you decide to make a reservation, try to go early; we had an 830pm reservation and as you can tell, it was not amazing.
We've enjoyed Andina for a number of special occasions, most recently an engagement. our foursome were treated beautifully, as ever; service was excellent and our meals well prepared, with ample portion sizes. we were seated in the lower level - which is actually quieter than the main level, and more our preference. Portland has no lack of good restaurants, and we believe Andina will remain in the top handful. We will be back.
Thank you for the five star review Sophocles.
Two words describe Andina’s: Portland’s Best”.
A place for foodies. If you never had Peruvian food this is the place to experience and enjoy it. 3 floors and always full says it all.
