   The new incarnation of the magical kingdom of chef Curiel is a great addition to the cherry creek dining scene. Food is complex and delicious. We did not like the push to “order everything at once” and this doesn’t fit a menu as diverse as Alteno. Also frustrating that so many dishes including vegetarian offerings use their “black spice “ which has fish ingredients. With a seafood allergy this severely limits the number of menu possibilities. Still the dishes we had were phenomenal.

   Fabulous food and great service. It can be noisy so plan accordingly but worth it to eat that food

   My fiancé and I LOVE Alma Fonda Fina, so of course we had to try Alteño! And just like Alma Fonda Fina, we LOVED Alteño. The story behind Alteño is so meaningful and it you can really feel that throughout the restaurant. From the decor to the food. We order the scallop, carne Apache, cornbread, stuffed mushroom, al pastor and the roasted chicken. All that was the perfect amount of food for two people! The flavors are amazing and cooked and prepared to perfection. HIGHLY recommend!

   We had the best time here. The food was amazing! Our server took time and care to explain every dish we were considering. At one point my napkin fell from my lap, by the time I picked up off the floor our server was already handing me a new one. We left satisfied and excited to return soon!

   Phenomenal, truly. I was dancin’ in my seat with every bite. Our server was impeccable (Kevin, if I remember correctly)! Passionate, knowledgeable, thoughtful, but not overbearing. My husband and I don’t drink alcohol anymore and they surprised us with NA bubbles in champagne flutes. A small but very sweet gesture that sets a restaurant apart. And let me tell you - that sweet potato!!! It’s one of those dishes where you close your eyes to savor every ounce of it. Just, wow. Can’t wait to return!!

   Wow! The food was great. Some highlights for us were the bluefin tuna dish, the cornbread and the striped bass. Our waiter, Kevin, was phenomenal as well. So passionate about the dishes and our experience. It was truly the cherry on top. Overall we highly recommend and will be back!!

    We enjoyed the hibiscus margarita, the kanpachi and uni crudo (wow), the blue crab stuffed mushroom, the cornbread, chile relleno and roasted chicken. Every dish had a few extra layers and accompaniments to make it exceptional. Megan was a superb ambassador for Alteño. So many other dishes we would like to try. The only frustration was with Open Table’s notification system.
