Our family really enjoyed cooking on the hat! Our teens loved the authentic Austrian experience.
Best restaurant in Vail. Authentic Tyrol cuisine beautifully prepared and served in restaurant brimming in ambience of the region. The wine list reinforces the menu with unusual and delicious Tyrol selections. Dont miss it.
Delicious authentic German meal. Warm hospitality. Loved the decor. Perfect meal after a day of skiing in Vail.
Great restaurant with great ambiance.
Fair price point for Vail.
Fantastic food and service! Very neat atmosphere. Highly recommend trying it.
Great ambiance and food! We felt as though we were back in Germany!
Loved the food and atmosphere, outstanding selection of Herman and Austrian beer! Definitely recommend!
Amazing food and atmosphere, felt like being in the Alps. Our server was great, friendly and fun. Will be back next year for sure !!
Food is of poor quality.
Excellent service and sumptuous meals.
A bit noisy.
Very very cute! Definitely different fare and atmosphere. Food was excellent and service great. Tables just aren’t super private, but it’s cozy.
We dined at several places during our 7 day stay. This was by far our favorite. Overall experience was great. Food was exceptional. Ambiance: Beautifully decorated modern rustic with a European flair. Staff were friendly, professional and courteous. Really a fabulous place to eat and spend a couple of hours.
Our favorite place in Vail!!! The food, service and ambiance are all amazing especially in a ski town.
So good all around!!
Our favorite meal of our family vacation! Everything that we ate was excellent!
We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of food and the presentation. You definitely should go.
We loved our Almresi experience. Didn't really know what to expect when we booked the reservation, but my wife and I thought the food and service were both outstanding. It was easily the most pleasant dining surprise of our entire trip to Vail. Would book their again without hesitation and recommend friends to do so as well.
Grown son and nephew visiting for first time. Husband and I had been in fall. Loved it then. This is the winter, busy ski season. Very sorry to say the service was pretty poor. Very nice guy, but inexperienced. Had to flag people down for many things. Table not cleared before next course, asking for flatware, many times no one was to be found. I had to get up to ask for things. It was a Saturday night! Would’ve expected top service in Vail, peak season, and at a nice restaurant. Of course, the bill has to be paid no matter and it was expensive! Expensive is fine as long as you receive quality service and food. We did not convey to our guests, but we were disappointed. We will be going back to Pepi’s again (competitor in Vail) with future guests. Always consistent there.
Everything was great, except we felt rushed to drink, eat, and leave. In and out in 45 minutes ~ main course arrived right on top of appetizers ~ not as relaxed as we like.
Expectations were high given wonderful reviews at TripAdvisor, but we found Almresi just a bit underwhelming. The layout of the dining area was less than desirable. One side of the table had comfy chairs, the other side had a hard wooden bench, on which you had to really lean forward to eat properly at the table. The middle of the dining area was set for large group dining and the group was *loud* partly because the attendees were spaced too far apart from each other across the large table to adequately hear each other without shouting. (Add wine and spirits, and you get the idea.) Our table and others were located around the periphery, but not conducive to a romantic dining experience with quiet conversation. Service was satisfactory provided by people who had happy faces, but did not look like they really enjoyed their jobs. On a more positive note, the pork shank entree was great!
Loved every moment of it.
We always make a point to reserve a table at Almresi, and love the food. The only reason I withheld a star is I wish they would expand the wine list. Austria has numerous great producers - especially in Wachau - that offer great values but I think there was only one Riesling on the menu. A small point in otherwise wonderful experience.
Always the highlight of our trip to Vail. Great ambience and friendly , professional staff. Good is always delicious .
We had a terrific dinner. Wonderful quality of food, great service and beautiful presentation.
Absolutely fantastic from start to finish !!!
The authentic cuisine, the ambiance, the attentive service!!! I cannot imagine a visit to Vail without at least one meal here. Thank you for everything.
What a beautiful and unique restaurant. Really great atmosphere, food, and service. We really enjoyed it.
Everything was excellent from the decor and ambiance, to the service, to the drinks, and the food. I highly recommend this place.
We managed to get a reservation at Almresi at a reasonable time (5:30 pm for dinner) about two weeks in advance. We knew Almresi was very popular, and we were looking forward to our first visit. While we had a perfectly acceptable dining experience, we left feeling that this restaurant is overrated, overpriced, and a bit too much of a theme park. Some of the food items were delicious, like the spaetzle, the pasta, the cheese fondue, and the chocolate fondue. Some of the other food items such as the salads, the schnitzel, and the carrots and celery that came with the cheese fondue were decidedly underwhelming. Also, with both fondues, there was plenty of cheese and chocolate, but insufficient dipping items... we had to ask for more on both occasions. The few wines they offered were very expensive, the least expensive bottle being $65. I doubt we will return, as there are plenty of other fine restaurant options in and around Vail that serve consistently delicious meals (and wines) at better prices, and don't require a minimum of a two week advance reservation.
Foods are nice, all stuff is great. Only negative point was waitless forgot our drink order to bring its soon. We waited more than 5 minites for our beers.
Pretty much the coziest space to relax after a day on the slopes. The portions are huge, the food is hearty and delicious, and the attention to detail In decor and presentation is amazing.
We overall enjoyed the experience. Great atmosphere and service. The meal was somewhat mixed. Cheese fondue app was good, so was salad and the salmon/potato dish. Schnitzel was disappointing [seemed premade and heated up]. I grew up skiing in Europe so I know what it is supposed to taste like. Would return now that we know what to order/what not to order.
Fun atmosphere and great wait staff! We “ate our hat” and you should too, if you’re in the mood for a tasty beef dish.
Excellent as usual !
Authentic German-Austrian food served in detailed and original wooden Ambiente. Definitely recommend this place. Being from Bavaria we had high expectations that were definitely met!
The chairs in the "cow section" are very uncomfortable and need to be replaced. The chairs are too low and provide no back support unless you want to lean way back and not be involved in conversation.
The food. And atmosphere was just as fabulous as we remembered from our last visit. We definitely will return again in the future.
Very cute ambiance, really helpful wait staff, great value
Great experience at Almresi! Food was great, ambiance fabulous and service excellent! Don’t miss this place when visiting Vail!
Staff had a hard time keeping up with a large party leaving them short handed to manage our group. Salad came same time as entrees. Our table was in a corner where it was very hot. Overall very disappointing experience.
Lovely, unique atmosphere. Great quiet place. The food was delicious!
