Chef Curiel makes his solo restaurant debut with Alma Fonda Fina, a restaurant dedicated to sharing the integrity, tradition and culturally rich experiences that defined his culinary journey and create a transportive dining experience that embodies the beauty of Mexico.     This restaurant absolutely blew us away. Every dish was bold, vibrant, and beautifully executed—contemporary Mexican cuisine at its finest. The ambiance was stylish and inviting, and the service struck the perfect balance of warm and professional. It’s exciting to see Denver’s culinary scene reaching new heights. We’re so lucky to have a place like this right here in town. Can’t wait to come back!

    We were able to book a 3pm table the day before and three of us shared a total of six dishes: Sweet Potatoes with Whipped Ricotta Smoked Tuna Tostada Maine Diver Scallops Short Rib Barbacoa Taco Lamb Shank Pacific Halibut All were exceptional from Entradas to Para Compartir. Both the pineapple and the avocado cocktails were enjoyed as mocktails as well as a crisp rosé and a classic marg. We were celebrating two Birthdays and were treated to two sparkling pineapple and a bubbly toast. We thoroughly enjoyed every sip and morsel and our server, Emily, was a welcoming and attentive guide.

    We sat at the chefs counter and it was amazing! William took care of us and was a wonderful experience. The frijoles and tostado de atun are a must! They change the menu slightly every 2 months and everything on the menu is great. Reason to go back!

    Found Alma Fonda Fina while in town on business. Wanted something more modern and refined. Looked up James Beard Award restaurants in Colorado. Restaurant did not disappoint. The Tostada de Atun was probably the best thing I have ever ate in my life. If you like Crudo or Raw Tuna, this is absolutely a must. We arrived right before happy hour ended (4:45pm), so we had the privilege of ordering a round of Tacos De Asada and Classic Margaritas at a great price. Also ordered tacos de Barbacoa and Tacos de Carintas. Both were good but between the 3 tacos, carnitas were slightly better because the short ribs were slightly under seasoned. As I write this, I can still remember how amazing the Tostada de Atun was. Service was very efficient and professional. Changed out my utensils after each round of dishes. The servers were very knowledgeable of each dish by describing each dish as they were delivered at our table. Definitely a great spot for a meal or an elegant dinner.

    The food was amazing ! The Frijoles Puercos was simply delicious and so was the Birria de Borrego ! Avocado Marg was just perfect ! Will see you guys soon.

    I can’t stop thinking about our meal. From the avocado margarita to the sweet potato with whipped ricotta with chili crunch, this place knocked my socks off. Can’t wait to go back.

    Everything about this restaurant was outstanding. The service was definitely top notch, friendly experience staff, all very attentive and knowledgeable about each dish. We ordered almost every item on the menu, intending to sample everything but are every last bit of each dish. Everything was my favorite, extremely fresh, nothing was overbearing with too much flavor, extremely well balanced and very reasonably priced. Definitely a must try, worth the wait in making reservations. You won’t regret it. Fantastic dining experience.

    Wow, what an exceptional experience. The food, service and atmosphere was incredible. For a Michelin star restaurant the casual atmosphere was refreshing with a nice background soundtrack that allowed easy conversation with pleasant undertones. Now onto the most important topic, THE FOOD. I've been to several Michelin restaurants (my Favorite indulgence) and none have been so affordable. Yes a little pricey for a normal restaurant but this place is anything but normal. We had the Tostada De Atun (Applewood Smoked Tuna / Smashed Avocado / Chicatana Mayonnaise / Salsa Macha) it was a triumph , it paired with fresh Tuna that tasted like it was caught minutes earlier (not possible in Colorado) the Salsa macha was to die for and we thought it can't get any better than this! We were WRONG , as we also ordered the Callo De Hacha Al Horno (Maine Diver Scallops / Serrano Ponzu / Tomato Butter / Chives). I'll be dreaming about the flavor profile in each exquisite small spoon bite I enjoyed. The combination of flavors was masterful and if you only get one thing when visiting, THIS is it. It deserves a Michelin star by itself and likely is the reason this place earned one. We also ordered the Camote Asado, we both thought it was tasty but compared to the other items I would pass next time. Next we had the Enmoladas De Pollo which was very tasty, if I had only tried this I would still recommend this place however after having the previous item, it brought us down to earth to an amazing dish that couldn't outshine the former. Lastly, we finished the night with Birria de Borrego, one of my favorite dishes and although my partner doesn't like lamb, she admitted this was very tasty as well. I can't wait to come back and plan to make Alma Fonda an indulgence whenever our wallets allow such a treat. Without drinks we would have departed for less than $130 but we had drinks without regret so our tab was about $175 before tip. As a foodie, worth every penny!
