   First time at Allora. Wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and they had personalized menus for us and they greeted us with “Happy Anniversary”. They also gave us a glass of Prosecco and a nice nonalcoholic raspberry drink to celebrate. The service was outstanding! Nick was our server and he did an amazing job at describing the dishes. We opted for the 4 course meal. The presentation for every meal was lovely. They all tasted fresh and delicious. All the other servers were very attentive and polite. The ambiance was great. Such a lovely experience.

   Having recently dined at one of the two single star restaurants in Sacramento it came as a shock that Allora was not considered to be added to this list. The staff is exemplary, the venue comfortable and immaculate and the food - perfection. Highly recommend the 5 course for the full experience!

    Grilled octopus with balsamic glaze, Calabria chili, fennel, and potato gnocchi; Fettuccine with lobster, prawns, pancetta, preserved lemon, and tomato parma rosa; Porchetta with a spicey paste of cured pork and roasted peppers, grilled smashed potatoes, nettle pesto, wild leeks, and natural jus; Chocolate bomboloni: Ricotta doughnuts, honeycomb, chocolate Gelato, and local Becker bee pollen.     This place has always taken care of us. This the place for proper service. New silverware between each course, clean table at all times. They are extremely friendly and are great at walking you through the service. The wine list is great and the cocktails are amazing.

    Made resys months prior to experience this place. Super cute interior ( ( but our view was of Folsom Ave and an automotive place complete with pacing homeless folk). Our server ( and all staff we dealt with) were super versed in the menu and drinks and all of the ingredients. If anything, this was the selling point. Food portions started small and got bigger. We did the 5 course and left very full. I’m not a dessert person and luckily one of the fist comment was that we could sub something. A crudo or antipasto for dessert. For $10. Super menial charge but after spending over $500 for dinner for two, you’d think they’d let that slide. The food was good. Nothing life changing….. and I’ll say it : we both agreed it didn’t have the complex flavor profiles that we enjoyed at Localis. The menu was less imaginative. Dont get me wrong, it was delicious and fun. But our tiny table was up against a mirror and the main dining area was small and not very personable or fun. Next time I’d sit in the garden patio which seemed to have great ambiance and personality. Service was impeccable. Nearby diners in jeans and flip flops.

    We had the fixed price menu at Allora for Mother's Day. The food was very good, but I wasn't blown away (admittedly we frequent Michelin-rated restaurants). The service was however impeccable - from the hostess to the wait staff to the sommelier and even the bus staff, everyone was polite, friendly, and helpful. The restaurant is in a cute neighborhood in East Sacramento. Parking is a bit constrained) street parking, but we found a spot within a 1 block walk. Noise level was a little higher than expected, but not loud. Portion sizes are smaller than one would expect with the restaurant not having a Michelin star. As far as the dishes themselves (those that I had and those that my wife had) - the oysters were great - the ahi crudo wasn't great - the fettucine was delicious - the asparagus salad wasn't great - the chicken entree was good, but not great - the short ribs entree was good, but not great - both desserts (ice cream with espresso, bomboloni I believe was the other one) were both great Wine pairings were very good, all from regions in Italy. I'm not a big fan of Italian wine, but took a chance, and the sommelier did a fantastic job of choosing delicious wines. Will we go back? Maybe. We're a bit spoiled having come from the bay area and spending a lot of time in the Napa valley. Would I recommend it? Yes, 100%.

    This was our first time at Allora. We were expecting a 'fine dining' experience but fell just short of that expectation, The service was outstanding and deserve a shout out. We chose the four course menu. Nothing was spectacular. The food was fine, but nothing jumped out. For me the scallops were great. The Duck Pate is one of my favorites. In this case, the Pate was covered with strawberries, gelatin topping and other toppings which took away from the pate. Fettuccine was ok. Desert was simple , basically ice cream with entourage. Table setting had no tablecloth. I mentioned the above because we paid $500 for two people with very little to taste. Portions are very small, too small even for this 'fine dining'. The desert menu was larger than the other main dish items. My wife and I have experienced fine cuisine, so we were critical and compared. Also had wine pairing of sorts. the wines provided were not complimentary to the food. Not good wine selections, definitely tasted better...... huge disappointment. Sommelier has long way to go at this restaurant. Having stated the above, I think Allero has the means to adjust. I have dined in fine restaurants whereby you tasted the food item and had to say "Wow", it is so tasty. I think Allero could get there, but not with the line up they have now. And, just slightly increase portion, same approach but a meaningful sampling.

    The food choices were on point & explained in detail by our waiter. We chose the 4 course dinner with wine pairing. The explanations we received for our wine choices were detailed in regard to grapes, regions, flavors, etc. Overall, it was a perfect dinner choice for Mothers Day.     I am torn between wanting this amazing gem to remain hidden and wanting their popularity to explode. In all ways is Allora superior to anywhere I have ever been with care and thought abundant on every detail, including non-alcoholic beverages, vegetarian fare, allergy considerations, and dietary restrictions. It is an experience beyond even some of the most popular establishments in Northern California including those with "reputation" as described by certain guides and at superior value.

    Honestly, I’ve been to a lot of high end restaurants and this one is up there! I wish the steak was a bit bigger in size portion but other than that. I was genuinely impressed. The staff knows their menus inside and out and the wine pairings couldn’t have been better. Worth every penny.

    I will certainly return. Never rushed. Food was excellent. I especially like the ability to select from 4-5 options for each course. Most resturaunts which offer fix couse meals have a preset menu.

    This was our first time at Allora. The service was excellent so I have no complaints there. I ordered 5 courses. Some were good, some were meh, nothing was out of this world amazing. The pasta and short ribs were my favorite. I felt that the carne crude lacked flavor. The octopus anti pasti was good but some of the octopus was a little tough. Dessert was a pass, I had the bomboloni. All in all it was a nice night. I’m not sure it was worth the price and it had me wishing I had gotten off the wait list for The Kitchen.

    Always good, this visit was for two birthdays with a couple that have never been to Allora. The birthday boys enjoyed their celebration and the other couple was grateful to have experienced Allora. More visits to come!!!!! Allora is always a treat.
