   Alavita is by far my favorite place to dine in Boise. The food is excellent, and the use of local products where possible is another draw for me. On this visit, the service was off just a tad. Not as friendly as the past, and time from order to delivery of food items was a bit long. I will surely return as we have had many wonderful meals and service, but management should always be aware of slipping from the high standard of quality food and service.

   we have been going to Alavita for years and usually love our dinner, but this time was a total disappointment. We ordered a couple appetizers and each had an entree. The only things we enjoyed were the wine IAlbarino) and the calamari. It was our anniversary and needless to say, it was not a great celebration.

   Accommodated our early arrival. Server spoke very rapidly in accented English. Had to ask him to slow down. One of our guests actually thought he was speaking g a foreign language. As the restaurant filled up it got very noisy which would have made things worse. Server also seemed unable or unwilling to explain dishes. Food was good.

   Wonderful late evening (930) seating. Our table was waiting for us, and service was prompt and attentive without hovering. We didn't feel rushed, even though we were the next to last seating. Our server, Philip, was personable, friendly, and informative. There was music in the background, but it included a lot of classic crooners and set a nice vibe. And best of all, we could talk without having to talk over the music. The two of us shared several small plates (antipasti) and some cocktails, and had a wonderful dining experience - we'll be back!

   Our first time visiting was for a recent anniversary dinner. I was surprised by the need for a credit card to make a reservation and the potential no show fee (through Open Table, at least), but I guess I can understand the need. It wasn't a big deal for us since we were making plans for the same evening. The location was about 80% full when we arrived and the noise level was pretty high, especially at the at the host station near the door and bar. However when they seated us at a two person "booth" in the corner the sound dropped quite a bit. Neat trick - I don't know if it was the corner, or the high booth seat backs, but either way we didn't have any issues hearing each other or the server. We both had a couple of cocktails which were delicious and unique. (I recommend the "Velvet Cowboy" and something I think was called a "Corpse Reviver 2". Our meals were delicious as well! I had the Rigatoni and loved the whiffs of truffle from the truffle butter. My husband had a seasonal Risotto special which was to die for! Generous portions meant we went home with delicious leftovers. We'll be back!

   Great dining experience from the beginning. The hostess was friendly and effective, seated right away, and our server Chad struck a nice balance of being attentive but not overbearing or intrusive. Chad knew the menu well and helped navigate a couple food allergies, which I appreciate. The meat and cheese board was great, fennel and arugula salad exceptional, and my salmon was served hot off the grill. Other entrees that were excellent at our table were the beef bolognese and risotto with shrimp added. The manager (owner?) stopped by a couple times to make sure everything was just right and also helped me hide and deliver a surprise gift. Excellent dinner, thank you, we will be back.

    Alavita never disappoints!! We love everything about it! Service is ALWAYS top notch - Justin was phenomenal! And the food was AMAZING!!
