Not the best value. Our first time eating here after hearing so many good things about this restaurant. Given the price of the food, I would have expected more of it. I do not have a large appetite so I ordered the risotto and my wife ordered pasta. Food service was ridiculously fast. In fact, our food arrived before our glasses of wine. We had to eat slow so that we didn't finish our food prior to the wine arriving. Was disappointed in the serving size. It would be the appropriate size if I had also ordered either a main entree or salad and appetizer. For $24 I would expect enough risotto to satisfy my small appetite. The food tasted great and what I saw of other people's food looked delicious as well. I have a hard time justifying paying that much for a 3 course dinner when there are so many great food options in such close proximity.
We miss the menu from a few years ago. The beet salad is gone but they added a ceasar...the gnooci's aren't even close ... We we're disappointed
Great place. We will definitely eat here again in the future. The steak was a bit salty, other than that, the food was amazing. The service was also top shelf.
Not sure if I want to tell everyone how awesome it was because I want it all to myself!😃
Best meal. Excellent service w Casey and others . Will cancel another reservation to come back before leaving town. Could not make reservation so will have to seat at the bar .
Great food and service... this restaurant gets better with time just like a good red wine! Looking forward to dining there again soon! Thanks!
Excellent in all areas
Great night out!
The food was fantastic. The service was good, but I feel like the waitress was favoring my fiance more. I believe that when you are asking questions, taking orders and serving guess it should always be ladies first.
Always a wonderful experience! The risotto is always different and always delicious!
Alavita is consistently friendly (but not too) and delicious. Their dishes are interesting without being weird, and the quality is guaranteed. The flavors are outstanding.
We have eaten at Alavita several times and never had a bad meal or experience. The food is fresh and delicious. Their waitstaff has very little turnover which says a lot for this restaurant in a very bustling community. Our waiter, Bob, is always superb and works with all our "special" requests. We highly recommend Alavita for great downtown eating!
This is one of our favorite Italian restaurants. The food is fresh and seasonal. The pastas are homemade and it shows. The care of the food preparation shines in presentation and flavors. The staff are kind and professional.
LOVE this place! Came on a recommendation and were thrilled! Tina was our sweetheart of a server and made excellent suggestions. Had the burrata and meatball starters and the buccatini, ravioli and halibut entrees. Loved everything but the halibut was INSANE!
Beautiful bar and nice cocktails with big ice cubes!! The manager was a doll as well. She came over welcomed and thanked us for coming in. They have outdoor seating as well. Will be back!!!
Thank you! We appreciate the kind words.
Good bar including Idaho beers, spirits and wines.
Small, well curated menu and wine cellar.
Best gnocci ever and excellent hand made pastas all around.
Vegetarían and vegan options.
Classic deserts with a few compelling twists.
Loved the waitress.
Small, intimate space that is comfortable and welcoming.
Great food, wonderful pasta in a great atmosphere!
Love this place!
Alavita is my favorite restaurant in Boise. The atmosphere and decor are topnotch, the service is professional and friendly and the food is really good. Everything is fresh and often local-and they make their own pasta! They recently changed their menu and added more appetizers-a good addition.
The first time I ate here, it was great. My most recent experience was not good. The food just wasn't very good. The caesar salad was drenched with dressing that had almost no flavor. The pasta was pretty much just noodles and a few pieces of meat, no sauce, and 4 or 5 tomatoes.
As usual. Everything was excellent. Celebrated my beautiful wife’s birthday. Very special. Thanks to Tina our waitperson.
It was awesome! My favorite waitress! Food was excellent! Just a little noisy but, other than that great!
Wonderful food and service in a warm eclectic atmosphere !
Alavita is always a great place to go for authentic Italian food with local influence. Fresh made pasta is amazing; staff is attentive and take good care of you.
All was amazing! But - need to bring back the pork belly appetizer
Graduation dinner. Food was surprisingly not as good as in past visits. A bit disappointed given this was one of our favorite spots.
food is always top notch, the grilled artichoke appetizer was amazing
Very helpful to change our rable to accommodate a high chair. Thank you!
We celebrated a retirement with dinner at Alavita. Everything was perfect. We will be returning!
We celebrated my daughters 19th birthday at Alavita. We wanted to make her feel special so Alavita was a great choice. The decor is beautiful and the service and food were all excellent.
Alavita is hands down one of Boise's top restaurants. The food is amazing, staff is friendly and inviting.
What can I say? The food is authentic and delicious. Service is prompt, friendly and caring. Cocktails are creative. Prices are in line for the quality. And, to top it off there’s ample parking available. This was our first business but will absolutely not be our last.
Always excellent - the food, the service, the atmosphere, we love everything about Alavita!
This was Mother's Day Brunch, a first for this restaurant that normally just serves dinner. While the staff was a little confused ("How are you this evening?") they were very friendly and service was excellent. The food portions were just right so we didn't feel stuffed, as we would have been doing a big buffet.
Pretty good food but super small portions. Left hungry and went to taco bell
My wife and I went out last Friday, it had been a long week. We are both foodies that lived for a while in Portland, OR where we got to have our fair share of amazing meals. When we moved to Boise, we knew it was the right place for us, but at the same time we kinda missed some of the amazing meals we had enjoyed in Portland. Well, I have to say the meal that had at Alavita was amazing, the presentations, the layers of flavor, the execution, the level of salt were all perfect! We started with the artichoke appetizer and a glass of Arneis, then followed up the two nightly specials; a risotto and the halibut. Then finished with a desert of upside down pound cake and a shared glass of port. It was a perfect evening, in our new hometown of Boise. Thanks Alavita!!
The Wagyu steak was tremendous. The sauce was 6 stars out of 5. So why are they removing it from their menu?
We had a fantastic dinner, once again, at Alavita. The staff is warm and friendly and they make you feel most welcome. Drinks are always great, and our dinners were fantastic. The coullote steak was cooked to perfection and the flavor was excellent. The black ravioli is a favorite and we were not disappointed. Looking forward to our next visit!!
Excellent vibes and great music surround you as you get lost in conversation with your company. The mood was romantic but still inviting as I did notice some guest by themselves at the bar. Beautifully elegant decorations engulf the room making it hard to not notice the beauty.
On a whim we decided to have a date night. My fiance and I are new to Boise from Seattle and this place could go head to head with any of Tom Douglas' joints. Our waiter was Casey, he was perfectly friendly and did a wonderful job offering us the perfect balance of privacy and warmth. The food was delicious, especially the black ravioli. Very reasonably priced for such a nice meal, we were able to have drinks, appetizer, two of the pricier entrees and dessert for under 100 bucks, something practically unheard of in Seattle. The ambiance is intimate and sultry, really great for a date night. Overall I was really shocked that we could get an experience even nicer than one in Seattle in much cozier Boise, yet another reason to add to my ever growing list of reasons I'm glad I moved. We will FOR SURE become repeat customers and are excited to patron Fork as well. Bravo!
Couldn't have been better!!! Highly recommend!
