I hate to rain on the positivity parade associated with this restaurant, and the owner, but my experience was so far from what most people have shared that I feel compelled. Arriving to an empty restaurant on a Saturday night on this popular strip caused me pause, but the waitress was kind, so I overrode my gut feeling that something was clearly off despite Alana’s inclusion on Eater’s Best Of list. Literally every other restaurant on that strip was packed… We had four or five small plates, including beef and veggie tacos. The non taco dishes were OK, nothing special, and overpriced. The tacos were the greasiest tacos I’ve ever had, and I’ve had loads of tacos. Swimming in grease. Drowning. Not waving. Despite this, the beef had some flavor (coming mostly from the sauce on the side), but the veggies tasted of absolutely nothing. They were composed mostly of onion, sautéed in way too much oil, with a dollop of mole that didn’t add any flavor at all. The overriding takeaway was: wet. Despite being super sweet, the waitress was astonishingly inattentive, given that we were one of only four or five people in the whole place. Empty drinks went unnoticed for a long, long time. Which is a pity, because the drinks are the star of the show at Alana. We had several and all were really good, though why the style & ambiance feels oddly corporate. Que lastima.

Alana was great! The cocktails were creative and well presented. Similarly the tapas were innovative and very tasty. Our server was attentive and pleasant without being intrusive. We would definitely recommend the restaurant

Beautiful tapas, inventive and happily surprising cocktails, delightful bartenders, unobtrusively perfect service. Such a sophisticated and fun oasis right in the heart of PS!

First time visit. Amazing and interesting cocktails. Food was only average though. Service from Haley (sp) was excellent and friendly. Will return for drinks but likely not for dinner…
