Truly stand-out cuisine. Be open to the experience(s). Best meal we had in a week of fine-dining while in Santa Fe for the opera festival. My only regret: because we were not a large enough party to justify ordering wine by the bottles, we selected from wines by the glass, and it just so happened none of the ones I tasted equalled the food.

This is a pretty good restaurant and not sure why there weren’t many diners eating at the establishment. The food was excellent, wait service was good, noise level was not a problem (probably because we were one of two tables) we shared a house salad (I would call it a Mexican salad) very tasty, then asparagus wrapped with prosciutto and covered with béarnaise sauce, and lastly we split a relleno filled with goodness! I will say the bed of sauce used with the relleno was spicy! Oh yeah, the margaritas were very good too!

Entrees we’re delicious. Crème Brûlée was not so good. Prices were probably a good 8-$10 higher than they should be, but that’s typical for a hotel restaurant. Service was very good.

Agave has an exceptional happy hour. Reduced prices on drinks and several delicious appetizers at a reasonable price are offered. Exquisite atmosphere, with two beautifully appointed rooms. Staff were professional and friendly. The three people in our party all agreed, the experience was wonderful and we will be back!

The brussel sprout app was amazing as was the sea bass. We had excellent service. They were there when someone needed another drink or whatnot but stayed in the background to let us visit with our group. We all really enjoyed the live classical guitar music as well. Would definitely return and recommend.

Wedge salad was very well prepared. The prosciutto and goat cheese flatbread was dry and the only standout flavor was salt from an overly salty prosciutto. The Mexican shrimp cocktail was so-so, it came with one large whole shrimp with smaller pieces in the mixture. It had a taste of cloves which really didn’t help the dish. Enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant just wish that the food kept pace with the ambiance.

Very cold in the restaurant and they would turn off the air conditioning, 40 degree weather outside. Could not accommodate any changes to the menu including asking for the sauce on the side

Staff wasn’t very friendly, some crude conversation. Food was subpar, so we’re the drinks. Definitely would go somewhere else if you’re in Santa Fe

We enjoyed dinner before walking next door for the Tanya Tucker concert at the Lensic. Of course the evening started with margaritas -- one cucumber and one house with anejo (my favorite). My favorite was the green chili cheesebuger with bacon and fries. the burger was tender, juicy and cooked to a perfect medium well. Originally planned to eat in the dining room, but it was a winter evening. So we took the cozy couch by the louge fireplace. My favorite spots in Santa Fe for cocktails all include a fireplace. Service was excellent!

The space is fine, the lounge musician was nice & the price point is good. The food was not quite as described on the menu and presentation was so-so. Had an awkward encounter w/ manager upon paying for the bill, in regards to a take home open bottle of wine. This felt a little heavy handed, and we would probably not choose to dine at the establishment again.

Poor service is understatement. 1 1/2 hr to get food, not cooked as ordered; well done, ordered rare. Staff had No Idea about gluten fee, as designated on question on reservation. We literally had to hunt for waiter and go to the bar to get our own drinks. Obviously very short staffed with inexperienced people. We expected an outstanding Christmas dinner and were very disappointed. Others diners had the same experience.

We dined at Agave for first time on Christmas Day. The prix fee dinner selections were delicious. My husband chose ham dinner and I ordered the sea bass. The portions were very generous and we took home doggie bags! The staff were pleasant and did their best to keep everyone happy.

Never in my 63 years have I seen such a clown show as far as service. Three and a half hours for 3 people with a 4:45 reservation, hoping to eat early and beat the crowd. Yes, it was Christmas, but it was a limited menu and the place is a hotel. You could get a menu, you could get a glass of water. What you couldn't do was place your order or get what you ordered. It took over 20 minutes to order, then 40 minutes to get a cocktail, then two of us got our salads and the third person's salad came out 20 minutes later. One tiny woman was carrying everything one or two plates at a time (trays, anyone?) while a big useless guy wearing a 'manager' name tag literally did NOTHING. He talked to people at one table for 10 minutes while we waited for that cocktail. He walked around carrying a menu and never helped anyone. Another guy ran around the room topping off everyone's (full) water glass and did nothing else. Ridiculous for the price and an embarrassment to the hotel. Never again. I live in this town and have eaten everywhere. This was a first. We bonded with the other diners in our corner of the room and heard their life stories while we all waited. Strong thumbs down, not for the food, but for the dis-service.

Under staffed, no special offerings for Christmas Day. No garnish on plates, no toast with egg and sausage breakfast, no tortillas with Ranchero Eggs or garnish. Mediocre meal, 4 star hotel prices. The staff was stressed just trying to take orders and deliver food. We had reservations and expected top quality, 4 star presentation, and delicious food with a reasonable level of service. Very disappointing for a holiday meal.

We drove all the way from ABQ to have Christmas morning breakfast. Had a reservation and walked in and were told that we needed to leave because they were closed for the day, even though there was a restaurant full of people. The server told us he was the manager and wouldn’t provide any explanation or apology.

It was Thanksgiving evening but we still expected more at a Hilton for the price. The food was far below what we would normally expect for half the price and the service was almost nonexistent. For the price and location the ambience was far below expectations.

We waited at least 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us after we were seated. The restaurant was fairly empty but the bar area was busy. The waitresses were very friendly and nice and the appetizers we ordered were very good.

I booked an 11 am slot and drive one hour from my house to get there only to be told they are closed. I explained to the staff as they were walking around that open table let me book it but they didn't care. They just kept repeating "were closed" not what I'd expect from a quality establishment. Wasted a whole day of my weekend driving out to me punished for their mistake. If you close at 11 am, fix your schedule so your customers don't suffer. Especially ones who travel to get to you

Sorry to say that Agave did not meet our expectations, ordered the Cornish game hen only to be told that even though it’s on the menu they haven’t served it for two months. Our waitress, while nice didn’t make an appearance very often or ask if we would like more drinks. Food was lukewarm and was not worth the price we paid

The service was so poor that I have not in a very long time considered giving less than 20% tip. I could not believe how bad it was AND then the charge of $160.00 for 3 people of which only ONE person had a alcoholic beverage.

This was our first time at this restaurant, and we really like it. It wasn't crowded - a bit quiet, but we love the layout of the restaurant, the food and service were really great, and we'll definitely be back. Their marinated pork chop special was a big hit with the guys.

I would have appreciated a longer menu but the food was delicious and portion sizes good. Service was attentive but not intrusive and the ambience was lovely. Drinks were very good and we weren't disturbed too much during dinner. Attached to the El Dorado hotel where we got to enjoy some piano music as well after dinner.

Highly disorganized. No one knew what to do with our reservation. Four wait staff came by to take our order. Didn’t get details right with food and drink requests (hold onions, bring soft drink). Flavor was good.

Best blue corn quesadillas I've ever eaten. Flat bread was tough and I'd pass on that. Wish the lights dimmed. Happy hour was hoping so quite loud. Loved the decor.

Unfortunately the Dorado Hotel has a staffing shortage issue that is really a problem. When we showed up for our reservation we were told there were no servers and the only person at the restaurant was also doing room service. We didn’t get any service, wasn’t even seated.
