The wait staff was attentive, accurate and pleasant; our server, Sean, was a joy to speak with. Hequite obviously enjoyes his work. He kept our water glasses full which didn't happen at other "5 star" Denver places.
My wife and I ordered some vino, and as a home vinter I tend to be radically disappointed in wine from restaurants. Not that restaurants carry bad wine but there really is no comparison to fermenting something in your own cellar to getting it in a nice place. I was wrong, the vino was deep, clean, perfect for steak or steaky food, in fact the match was so good that the complimentary flavours of wine and beef were enough to set my palate alive, it wasn't a pushing match it was a sense of peace that my tastebuds have longed for outside of my own steak and vino at home.
Appetizer - beef fritters. Salt! Holy cow, the salt was perfectly balanced, the cilantro/cream dipping sauce was outstanding. The outside was a puff pastry so good that a licensed Pâtissièr would have been jealous; the beef was tender and surrounded by the deepest & richest beef gravy/au jus I've ever had.
Main dish, meat loaf made from the remnant cuts of filet mignon. It was equisite, tender, flavourful and just the right amount of salt and garlic and it was not OVER ground beef; it melted in your mouth. It was covered in a tomato "jam" and browned to perfection. The veggies are delicious, perfectly cooked.
My wifeshad ordered the filet, perfect! It was the tenderest cut I'd had in a long time. The sauce astounding. I asked for sauce for the meat loaf, if possible, and he immediately brought out a small dish of it. WOW, it was thick, deeply rich, filled with complete beef flavour and of course..... salted to perfection. This was a meal fit for very few kings.
We are grateful, GRATEFUL to have such an amazing 5 star restaurant that isn't just some local tooting their own horn, these guys don't need the horn..... their food is just better!
We'll see you again soon.
