We wanted to enjoy it but it wasn't busy, our food took over 45 minutes to get out, a lot of it was wrong and we just weren't impressed.
It was my first time going to Acova! It used to be Patsy’s, one of Denver’s oldest restaurant. We were greeted by the owner who was extremely nice. We were seated promptly. Our waitress, Katie, was really friendly and knew the menu to suggest some nice dishes.
We all ordered many appetizers and share of them. I’ve had mussels all my life but I must say these were some of the best mussels I’ve had! Totally different then the garlic-wine based or with marinara sauce. The pierogis were creamy and full of flavor! The sauce was rich and complimented them very well! We all enjoyed the pork street tacos and cauliflower ! The only dish that we did enjoy but would recommend more cheese and salsa or pico! They were tasty but really needed more of the toppings.
I’d go back there and would bring others.
The restaurant is in a cool old part of North Denver (the Highlands). The interior was cool with a modern flair and open air/street side bar.
Unfortunately the food was extremely mediocre at best. Our app which was recommended by the server, was some pretzel bites with a super bland watery cheese sauce. My Entrée was another super bland Bee Sting Chicken with ice cold mashed potatoes and sausage gravy.
Overall, the service was very good, the venue cool, and the neighborhood funky and growing. That said, the food was so mediocre I would likely never dine here again.
It was Restaurant week and we had awesome food in this trendy restaurant with a lively vibe. We will absolutely be returning!
Date night on the last night of restaurant week. I like that they opened up almost the entire menu to us. Everything we had was very well prepared and quite delicious. Service was very good.
We really enjoyed the food - we had a mix of brunch and items off of the regular lunch/dinner menu. Our daughter is picky but loved the kids' pasta with red sauce (and the ice cream scoop that comes with it). My only complaint is that the seating we had was wooden and not very comfortable (at least for me). There are some other tables that looked to be upholstered and I would hold out for one of those the next time we go (which we will).
We went for Restaurant Week and everything was phenomenal. My husband and I sometimes rush through dinner, but our server was SO great about letting us take our time and even wait on our dessert so we could just sit and relax. Food was amazing and our server was absolutely fantastic!
Went here with my partner for restaurant week. The value during this time could have been better, but overall the food was very good. The design of the restaurant and the drinks were also notable and very enjoyable. Would come again!
Great food and Awesome service. A perfectly wonderful experience for Restaurant Week!
Wonderful food and great service!
Jessie was awesome. Food was fantastic!
Everything we had was delicious! Had crab cakes and lobster mac and cheese and it was phenomenal. Drinks were fantastic too. Will definitely be back again!
Great choice for restaurant week. Staff and menu were both terrific. Server was very helpful with selections. The manager checked in several times to assure all was well. We have found a new favorite!
Best restaurant week deal of all ! And the food and service was excellent as well. Basically, 3 courses from pretty much the full menu for $35 or less - over $35 was no harm/no foul; under $35 and you paid what it was. In my case, full mussel appetizer, short rib and chocolate torte. In normal times, they also have great happy hour deals. Great restaurant in the neighborhood & reasonable prices all the time.
The server was prompt and friendly. The food came out quickly and was fantastic! Overall, we had a wonderful experience and will be returning info soon.
We stopped in for Denver restaurant week. It was AWESOME! First time here and I can’t wait to return. The ambiance was great, I really loved the interior, the spacing between tables, the noise level, & can’t wait to check out the patio area once it’s warmer out. The menu was wonderful as well, with so many awesome choices. My favorites were the perogies, and the bread pudding for dessert. Our server (I believe his name was Aaron) was so great to us. Even though it was completely packed in there, he was so attentive to us and friendly. What a nice guy. The manager came over and greeted us as well. We could see a bit into the kitchen as well and everything looked so clean and smoothly run. Well done, by their entire team. What a great spot. Thanks folks!
We had a great time celebrating Restaurant Week... All the food was delicious and great vibes all in all, thank you!!
We were able to order other than the menu for Restaurant Week and were so appreciative that when we requested a table that isn’t as loud, we got it. Great place for food-service, but the noise drives us crazy! Can’t wait for the outdoor area to open.
Amazing food and staff. I would recommend this place to anyone and will definitely be going back to try other items on the menu! I had the calamari, blacken salmon and apple donuts (all were amazing). Ended up taking home food as portions sizes for apps, entrees and desserts are fairly big.
Get the bread pudding for dessert, it was delicious 😋
We received great service & the food was delicious. We visited for restaurant week and will definitely be back.
It was an excellent choice for dinner with old friends.
Wonderful experience. Food was great and service was prompt and friendly. We will return.
The restaurant is beautifully decorated. The staff were very helpful, friendly, and attentive. Most imporatantly, the food was excellent.
We came here for restaurant week and it was a great experience. We got all different appetizers and we loved them all. It was great to try so many different things. We had three of the entrees. The short ribs and the scallops were amazing, I didn’t get to try the chicken but the person that got that was happy with it. I would recommend this place and will for sure be back.
We were impressed with the quality and flavor of the food and the friendliness and patience of the wait staff during peak brunch crowd! Too cold for the patio, but it looked like an awesome place to hang out in the summer.
Great selection, service and food! Great value for Restaurant Week - good options for anyone. We love everything. A great find - we will be back.
All the dishes that we had were the bomb 😍😍😍 definitely coming back for more specially for the green chili pozole
The food was delicious! We did appetizers, entrees and dessert. The desert was my favorite part. They also have a very reasonable brunch that we want to check out. The ambiance is great in a great location as well.
Two for lunch in a booth. Lovely server.
Great server, food was excellent, great warm vibe in the restaurant.
Great and reasonable food in the neighborhood. Great service as well. Recommend elote and short rib especially !
This is our new favorite restaurant, the creativity of the craft cocktails is amazing. Without exception, our servers have been spot on, and only enhanced our evening.
Great food, love the atmosphere!!
Love this place, just not what I ordered, the veggie frittata. I think it’s more that I should have chosen something else rather than the frittata being bad. I will definitely go back and order other things.
A great place for an intimate Valentine's Day dinner. The food was so tasty!!!
Nice surprise to find Acova across from the Bug Theater! Cauliflower and elote apps were very good, and a great deal at happy hour ($3 off). Mussels were delicious, though a bit overcooked. The Acova burger made my dining companion very happy too.
We loved it and plan to return. I’ve already recommended it to a colleague of mine.
Acova was a great experience. Very lively, good food and energy. The staff was very helpful and super attentive to a sensitive diet!!
We went to Acova for a girls night and were not disappointed. Food was amazing, and really appropriately priced - did not break the bank. The service was great, and the manager even came over to check on us. Will DEFINITELY be returning to Acova.
