La cocina abre temprano. Casi todos los días abre a las 6:00 en punto y los domingos, incluso antes. En 1 hora el pan está fermentando, las manzanas están rebanadas, los pays de nuez pecana se sacan del horno y se dejan enfriar y se bate el helado en la máquina. En la mesa de preparación humean tazas de café, la del pastelero con restos de chocolate que han dejado sus dedos. A media mañana se comienza a ahumar lentamente la paletilla de cerdo, macerada en especias desde el día anterior. Se llenan recipientes blancos de cebolla en rodajas, se pela el elote y el caldo, que lleva toda la noche cocinándose, se aparta del fuego y se cuela. Llegan camarones frescos en antiguas bolsas de tienda de alimentación. Los meseros van llegando por grupos, con sus camisas y corbatas en perchas. A esa hora, ya están ocupados todos los fogones de la cocina, se están picando las hierbas y se limpian los ostiones. El horno ya alcanza los 500 grados. Se prueban todas las salsas. Los bármanes abrillantan las cocteleras, se deja lista la cubertería de plata y se limpian todas las superficies. Música. Luces. Se abren las puertas. Hora de la cena. En Acme. Siete noches a la semana. La comida local jamás estuvo tan deliciosa.

Service was impeccable. Menu was broad and interesting to the point it was difficult to decide what to order. We ordered the barbecued pork and all found it to be so full of red pepper flakes that it was difficult to taste the pork. Pity. The corn bread, slaw, and mac and cheese were outstanding. Even though we didn't care for the barbecue we will go back to try other menu items.

I have never had bad service until this week. We ordered two steak frites and the salmon. Only one of our steak frites was brought to the table. The waiter who brought the food to the table said only one order was put in. The waiter who took the order lied and said “Oh, they ran out of steak so it’s going to take another 3 minutes.” We ended up splitting the one steak frites because it wasn’t worth the wait. I was in food service for several years and you know you shouldn’t deliver the food to the table unless all the plates were ready. I just wish he didn’t lie about it. It’s going to be awhile before we come back.

Well I would have to say as a 1st time visit I would definitely recommend as well as go back again. I had heard some much talk about the fried cornbread dish which we ordered was wonderful the oysters sliders was the other appetizer we had ( just add little bit more sauce with shredded lettuce and pickle) but again nice dish. For dinner my girlfriend had The BLT bento box a very unique presentation (creative outside the box concept) and I had the Catfish and both dishes I would have again. The service was gracious we didn't feel rushed our server constantly checked to make sure we was ok. Now the selling point for me was the consistency of my drinks (Bourbon Brown Sugar) omg.. tasted the same both times I ordered them. Now that is certainly something that doesn't happen all the time. Wonderful Evening out with my lady Thank you Phil Ivey. DH

We love Acme. The food and cocktails are outstanding; the service is great! We drive from almost an hour away to eat here for special occasions. Delicious, consistent and worth every penny!

We love Acme, we always have and always will! We are really enjoying now bringing our children to the restaurant after it being the home of many pre-marriage and children dates there starting 17 yrs ago. My only wish is that there was more variety and amount of gluten free dishes available. We like to eat there frequently but tend not to given the same GF dishes that always seem to populate the menu.

Terrific brunch.-so happy to have been there for Heirloom Tomato Week! The brunch menu is extensive, with many options in both the breakfast and lunch categories. The space in Acme is a bit tight, and the noise level a bit high, but neither factor is enough to be distracting. No one in my party had been to Acme in years, but all agreed that we will be back soon.

We love Acme and keep coming back for both Tuesdays other days as well as brunch. Nice surprise yesterday we were presented with a slice of the coffee cake (as a gift) and it was GREAT, as well as the tomato omelette and the crab one. Both delicious and also really good coffee. Kevin has not lost his touch but they do need a sign on the new entry that says open or an arrow pointing you to the entrance. we almost drove away thinking you were closed.

Love Acme. Having been going for 10 years. Unfortunately, this experience was not up to par for them. The hostess was rude and dismissive, despite us being early for our reservation. Then, we seemed to be forgotten outside and seated 15 minutes after our reservation despite multiple outdoor tables being open. As a results, the dish I wanted for dinner was gone. Maybe next time it will be back up to the level expected.
