I was kept waiting for some time before a waitstaff attended to me. The food was okay. Wonderful ambience and convenient for shopping.
I selected this venue to celebrate my birthday with friends, and I had an incredible experience. The live music was an absolutely perfect accompaniment to a delightful brunch. The food was amazing and the service was memorable. I highly recommend 51 Fifteen and I will definitely return soon.
It was a nice first time experience. Great ambiance, friendly staff. Quiet Monday night, food was good but the rice was a little salty. Will be back.
Good and Service Outstanding. Ambiance beautiful. Every thing was 1st class.
Nice food, nice atmosphere
The food here was wonderful. The service, not so much. We came for Houston Restaurant Week. The hostess only gave us the regular menu. It took about 10 minutes for our waiter to even come over to the table. Once he did, we asked for the HSW menu. It took another 5 minutes before he brought those to the table. The restaurant was not crowded. The entire meal took almost 2 hours. We had the brunch. Steak and eggs were exceptional. The chef cooked the steak as requested. I also enjoyed their portobello soup. It had a slight kick to it which was delicious. We had to catch someone walking by both times we needed iced tea refills. We never saw our waiter the entire time we were eating, not even to see if we liked the food. I would return but only if I had a few hours for eating.
Excellent food. Great service. Pleasant atmosphere
Excellent ambiance. Excellent service. Good music.
My friends and I were very excited to try out this restaurant. We were welcomed in with such a great energy and from the bar - the music, the lighting, and the ambience were a great combination that makes you want to stay and dine and drink and have a great girl time.
We were seated a few minutes after we checked in. We asked for HRW and drinks menus. The waiter came back with glasses of water and the menus and we asked for a moment for we to decide. It takes the waiter 40 minutes to take our order and pour us a second glass of water. He was quick to come and quick to leave. We didn't even get to order our drinks. Needless to say, he didn't come with any recommendations.
The bread only comes after the first course was served. The food was absolutely delicious. My lobster bisque is Rich with seafood taste, the lamb is perfect to my liking, and the chocolate cake is moist and semi sweet.
After we were done with dessert, they cleaned up our table and immediately handed us our check. We then realized that we didn't get to order our drinks and was not asked if we would want some coffee or tea after dinner with our desserts.
In summary, I had a good time with my friends, good vibes, and good food but the service is absolutely far from what I was expecting from this restaurant.
I loved the food but our waiter was rude and impatient. Which made it an uncomfortable first time there.
Great place. Bar effectiveness was not great but enjoyed the spot.
Great environment, great pianist playing during lunch
Enjoyed our lunch there. Food was good and the service
My colleagues and I went for the HRW lunch. We ordered the poblano bisque soup, sliced wedge salad, mahi mahi tacos, sliced Manhattan NY strip (my colleague said that steak should not have sauce on it), fresh blackened salmon risotto, and chocolate mousse. All of the food was okay. The staff was very attentive. The decor is beautiful, especially the flower lights.
The unique thing about the restaurant is the model that walks through the restaurant, modeling clothes most likely from Saks. Also, there was a pianist playing songs and taking song requests.
Great Restaurant Weeks Menu
Great place to bring a date. Went with my wife to eat for HRW and everything was great as always. Food and service is impeccable. Music and ambience is great.
Great three course lunch choice for Houston Restaurant Weeks.
The restaurant itself was so beautiful. Loved the "blue and white" interior and the curved booths. So nice to have Michaelangelo play the baby grand while we enjoyed lunch. Thanks for the special request Rachmaninoff piece for my SIL's birthday. Easy to make a reservation on Open Table. Our service was excellent. Food came out warm and well timed.
For starters, the poblano soup and wedge salads were fairly standard. The Blackened Salmon and Risotto was delicious and so fresh for the main course. The Mahi Mahi Tacos were also a great choice. The warm cheese bread and spreads were also a nice touch.
The white chocolate bread pudding with vanilla bean ice cream and hot tea was a great ending to a special birthday lunch.
Parking is always a challenge at the Galleria, but valet is available. The restaurant is located in Saks on the second floor. Perfect choice for a weekday afternoon meal.
I had a catch up dinner with a friend I hadn’t seen in a while. We decided to take advantage of Houston Restaurant Weeks, and it did not disappoint. The ambiance was elegant, yet inviting. We had such a great time that we forgot about time and ended up staying until closing time. The food and service were fantastic.
Although the atmosphere was nice, the food was not impressive enough to make me want to go back or recommend this restaurant to friends and family.
The hostess were very unprofessional. I was very upset that I had to wait 1 hour to be seated after being told 30 minutes.
Family brunch using the Houston Restaurants Weeks menu. Very good service from front desk and wait staff! Thank you for participating in the HRW fundraiser for our area food banks.
Excellent meal, attentive staff.
Very much enjoyed the evening! Staff made sure we we had everything we needed/wanted. Definitely plan on visiting again. Highly recommend!
The service was excellent! First time here and won’t be our last. The food was incredible! Our waiter was very knowledgeable on everything from cocktails to wine pairings to entrees. The ambiance is beautiful especially as the sun sets and the main glow comes from the city lights shining in through the big window overlooking buildings in the Galleria area. Even the valet guys made our evening super special!
I participated in the Houston Restaurant Weeks program. I had not even heard of this restaurant before because I leave in West Houston. The food, service, atmosphere and piano player were wonderful! It maybe a little too expensive for me, if I had not participated in the Houston Restaurant Week. I highly recommend the white chocolate bread pudding!
Swanky and fun. Drinks were great, food was mediocre. If you’re coming for a fun experience that works but if you’re looking for great food, go somewhere else.
Great service and food. Noise level was loud in the bar area which made it hard to have convo since we were seated close by. Definitely not a deal breaker for my table, but may be for others or if I come on a date night
We had a team lunch and the service was fantastic. We also did a "surprise" happy birthday to a team member and our waiter arranged a candle AND for the piano player to play happy birthday!
Nice ambiance and will return even after HRW. The server was on point with menu and we never had to ask for refill on bread or tea. Dishes were nicely prepared in both the temperature and appearance.
We ate at 51 Fifteen last year during restaurant week and it was 4.5 stars. This year, it was o.k., but not as good. The food was average and the service wasn't very good. The two of us were seated in a booth for 6 and it was very uncomfortable. We would have much preferred a table. I really like the restaurant, and I love the piano music and the pianist. I will go back again, and hope that we just hit it on a bad day.
My older sister was in town, so my younger sister and I wanted to take her to brunch. We made reservations for 12:15pm on August 11th for 3 people. We arrived early only to be told it was going to be another 15-20 minutes before our table would be ready. My sisters got drinks at the bar and were quite pleased with their orders. After 20 minutes of waiting at the bar, we were finally seated, but for another 10 minutes, no one came to wait on us. I flagged down a gentleman wearing a suit (manager maybe?) and asked if we could get glasses of water. He came back and set 3 glasses on the table, 1 of which was dirty. My sister asked for a new glass and he told her that the glass was stained like that and it wasn’t going to come off. We waited probably another 30 minutes for a waiter to finally come take our order. We did the HRW menu and every single course came out with a mistake. They brought out something we didn’t order for the appetizers. For the second course, they brought out tacos when I ordered a salmon omelette with avocado toast and my sister’s eggs Benedict were way over cooked, as was her steak. She asked for her steak to be cooked medium and it came out well done. At that point we didn’t send it back because we had already been there an hour and were pretty hungry. I’m assuming we were being served by the bartender, as I saw the gentleman who brought out the tacos run over to the bar to ask him what happened. For the dessert, they ran out of sorbet and so my sister had to order either chocolate mousse or bread pudding. She chose the mousse and she chose wrong... oops. So 2 of us had mousse while one of us had bread pudding. The mousse just looked very unappetizing. One had a single white grape on it and the other had an grape and pieces of other fruit on it (cantaloupe or pineapple maybe). My younger sister had to run to the ladies room for the 2nd time because she drank so much water while waiting for our waiter. They had run out of TP
Although service was great, the food was not. The lamb chop was really good but the macaroni came out warm and therefore were cold and powdery within minutes.
My better half got shrimp and shishito peppers. He wasn’t very happy with his dish. The chocolate Godiva cake was NOT fresh.
We sat in the bar area for about 15 min before being acknowledged.
Conversations are very noisy....definitely a chatty bunch the day we visited.
Everything was perfect. Treated my young son very well.
The waiter was not attentive.
We decided to try 51fifteen on HRW mainly because they advertised "slow roasted prime rib" on the menu. When the food arrived, it was clear that it was not prime rib. We were served a ribeye that was not at all tasty and that we could not eat. When confronted, the manager admitted the meat was cooked in a salamander...definitely not slow roasted. To their credit, the manager credited our check for the three "prime rib dinners."
I celebrated my birthday with friends at 51fifteen. It was the most pleasurable dining experience I’ve had in a long time! Our server, Stephanie, was very pleasant and attentive. The food was delicious..the ambiance, beautiful....and the piano player provided nice background entertainment.
I’ll be back!
Much better! Went during HRW for brunch and it was amazing! The open face steak sandwich (sliced NY strip and eggs) the steak and egg was cook to well (there were a few over cooked pieces) but the fruit plate was fresh and the White chocolate pudding with the vanilla bean ice cream was amazing. They even brought out little warm blueberry muffins with butter. Yes please!
Went for HRW brunch. The wedge salad was a little lack luster. The steak & egg was very good. First bite of the salmon omelette was a little fishy, but the rest was fine. Both the white chocolate bread pudding and the chocolate mousse were very good. Overall great menu/value for HRW.
It was me and my husband’s first visit and had a wonderful time. Food and service was great and want to visit again!
Very nice place! Was not to busy, great cocktails. Staff was great, they took care of us for our anniversary. Will be back for the happy hour. Had a good happy hour menu!
