The experience was nice. The menu had something for all of us. However there was no kids menu for our young son.
Food, service and the ambiance and decoration were very good, the beer list could be vastly improved and you should serve breakfast until 11, 11:30 or noon.
My Father’s Day (solo) luncheon at The Blake was a disappointment. I am in the Taos Ski Valley alone on business, and had looked forward to enjoying good food in a lovely environment. The hotel itself makes a very nice picture...lovely appointments, paintings, art work, lighting, etc. The restaurant is casual, and equally lovely. I am sure that the guest rooms are well above average.
There was one waitperson and one cook on duty, and a only a couple of other tables with a total of 12 diners. The time of my waiting was somewhat understandably long. Nonetheless, I did find it to be frustrating.
The menu is not particularly well-designed for dining for one. My pizza (the only logical option) and glass of wine cost almost $40. I am accustomed to paying significant prices for fine dining, so it is really not the $40 that bothered me. It just didn’t feel or taste “right”.
Based on 3 visits we recommend the food. However, the service is extremely slow. 20 minutes to pull a bottle of wine in a half-full restaurant. On one visit the three flatbreads for the adults were delivered after a long wait. The fourth arrived after all three of the others were finished. Beautiful setting in the ski valley, interesting menu, but be prepared for a long visit.
We were staying at the Blake and requested that a cake be made for our son's birthday. The cake was great and the staff brought it out with 7 candles and then helped serve it to all of his friends. Adrian was particularly helpful in getting all of this arranged.
Ribeye was ordered "medium" and delivered "rare"; sent back and returned the same. It was also cold, as was the asparagus. The brussels sprout were very good as were the truffle fries.
We were seated next to a party room that had a lot of kids running in and around the restaurant. Probably not 192's fault, but it did ruin atmosphere.
Our original waitress was replaced by someone else who was replaced by someone else, so the consistency of service was lacking (but not friendliness).
Overall really enjoyed 192. Stayed at the hotel for 4 days and ate multiple meals here. Found the ambiance very comfortable and food taste and quality consistent. Service was also friendly but not overbearing.
Breakfast - buffet was good value, if you want to eat a lot. Selection was a 7/10 since it lacked some fresher ingredients like fruit - can't blame that on them though since we're in the mountains.
Lunch/Afternoon/Dinner - same menu all day as far as we could tell. Thought the prices were actually very reasonable considering the hotel and location it's in. Shared plates and pizzas were good (lamb, pizza, brussel sprouts, black bean hummus).
Fantastic dining experience. Food was excellent, and especially enjoyed the sharable plate concept. Service was also great and the place has an interesting cocktail menu. Highly recommend!
192 at The Blake is a top choice for dining while in taos ski valley. The small plates are very good especially the tuna. We shared pizza and our family enjoyed it. The place is cozy and comfortable.
Reservation was for 10AM for Sunday Brunch... however Breakfast ends at 10AM!! Why....?
Situated in the middle of the ski area, it's great for people watching and viewing the ski area. The food and the service were great. Loved the decor.
My wife and I booked a massage at the Blake followed by dinner at 192 on Thanksgiving evening. The meal was perfect, and the service outstanding. It was a great way to spend an evening on a holiday in a beautiful setting. The meal was a traditional Thanksgiving serving, so not the normal 192 menu. The staff made us feel welcome and the atmosphere was perfect for a couple's night out on a holiday.
Our 10-yr anniversary dinner at 192 was quite pleasant. Waitstaff were still learning the menu but very eager to make sure our questions were answered.
Great food, very relaxed atmosphere. Not too expensive. Will be especially cozy in the winter with the lodge atmosphere and cozy fireplace.
Has a lot of potential, but not there yet. Food was fairly good, although I'd like to see more variety on the menu. No one there, had to wait to be greeted. Only one other diner, 2 dirty tables, the rest of the tables unset at 5:30 pm. Had reservations (although they weren't needed) - yet had to wait 10 min for them to set a table - odd, seemed like no one in charge. Sweet server, but seemed to have zero experience. Was up for an event, won't go there again for quite a while - hopefully they're new and not up to speed yet, (although open 5-6 months?).
192 at the Blake is a welcome addition to Taos Ski Valley. It is still new and has a few kinks to work out but overall a nice place for lunch or dinner.
Great food, not crowded. Atmosphere is hard to beat being at Taos Ski Valley
192 is relatively new and is going great guns up at the Taos Ski Valley. The food is very good & the atmosphere one of the best around. Looking forward to its' expanded menu.
As always, we appreciate the great service. Michael made the evening memorable.
Food was good and the drinks were exemplary. We've been to many restaurants around the world and the creativity regarding the drinks was bar none. We always enjoy our stays at The Blake and 192 helps in that process. Just go and ask for the Georgia O'Keefe.
Overall, very good food. Timing could be improved as we received our entree with our salad. *Need to update menu as we chose restaurant by the fish options on menu. * Trout has been taken off menu. Nice quiet atmosphere with beautiful views of the mountain. Staff was friendly and engaging.
Outstanding! Just what Taos ski valley needed. Everything was fabulous-192 will not disappoint. If you want a fine meal, this is your spot.
