    Excellent service from hostess to server. Unfortunately the food was disappointing. I had the filet that was perfectly prepared, but only came with two broccoli and about 4 oz of mashed potatoes. I prefer a filet to be a meal, not a small plate for over $50. My +1 had the chicken parmigiana, it was over salted and very thick, over cooked, difficult to cut. We had the meatballs as a starter, which was the best food item we ordered. Wine list contains a small selection and is not of caliber I expected. I will say the ambiance is quite nice in this restaurant, particularly if you are near the fireplace. If staying or arriving from outside Taos Ski Valley, the restaurant entrance is difficult to find and parking is quite a walk, no valet. In my view, the restaurant survives off the convenience of nearby lodging and not recommended to outsiders.

    We love Taos and The Blake. We went out for dinner (2 adults and 2 kids) and did not have the best experience. Our waitress got our order wrong so one of our kids ate after everyone else was done. The food was not great either. 3 out of 4 dishes were disappointing and overcooked (after we asked for medium rare). Everything came out as well done unfortunately. It felt like the kitchen really deteriorated. I understand the scarcity of quality kitchen staff but 192 struggled mightily for us yesterday evening.

    Food was very good but the service and ambience do not warrant the price nor the “fine dining” reputation of this restaurant. They are severely understaffed. We ate at the restaurant twice and both experiences were extremely poor for service. The food did taste good. But the poor service just left a bad taste in our mouth. We are staying at the hotel and are doing whatever we can to not eat here.

    Delicious food, not cheap but well worth the price. Very attentive friendly staff. In addition ,gorgeous fireplace and cozy atmosphere makes this place a 5 star for me!:)

    The Blake is a lovely hotel in Taos Ski Valley. Excellent and responsive staff. For the expense, one would expect a reasonable restaurant. Despite an excellent staff and a good bar, the food was extremely disappointing. Both entrees we had (pasta and halibut)

    Food was really unappetizing. I had zucchini parm with spaghetti squash. The zucchini had no breading as one would expect with parm and it had a slimy texture. The tiramisu had been refrigerated and was more of a cheesecake texture. No light fluffiness at all. The salads were ok and the wine selection was decent. All way overpriced for the quality. The ambiance is nice but that’s about the best thing I can say for 192 unfortunately.

    We had really positive experience couple of years ago when we were visiting Taos so decided to dine there again but it was a mistake. Service was so slow.. we got our appetizers quick, but it took over an hour to get rest of the food!! one salad we ordered finally came and rest of the entrees took another 15 mins!! Place was not even that busy and what was more upsetting was tables sat after us finished their dinners and got their checks!! Food was ok except burger I order came mooing.. and I ordered medium. I sent it back and it took another 20 mins. I ended up canceling the burger since rest of my family finished their meals and I ended up eating left over food from my kids. Server felt bad but no one else really cared.. Never again I will dine here..

    Waitress friendly but the hostess was not. They are short staffed and it showed in the significant lack of service during the meal. While the halibut was good and generous portions, the rest of the food was not good. Having to rate the restaurant with value in mind relative to their prices, it doesn’t measure up well. Probably won’t go back.

    Ski trip with two young adult children, and this was our last night. First, my husband and I stopped in for drinks when it opened at 3p. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Then dinner at 7p was fabulous. The Caesar was fresh and delicious with shaved parm. The halibut, duck ragu and filet were all delicious, as we all tried one another’s entree. And my son said his strawberry sorbet was the best he’s ever had. Our server Sarkis was the best! We met him when we popped in at 3p and were thrilled when he showed up at our table for dinner.

    Slow service. We arrived at 3:00 at our reservation time and the staff did not appear ready. Wait time for first round of drinks was 20 min although there were no other diners. Menu selection was poor despite advertising an “apre ski” menu.

    192 at the Blake is a an awesome restaurant in Taos Ski Valley. It's location is easy to locate when you finish you're ski activity at Ski Valley. The view and the ambience is what I like the most.

    when we got the main course, the fish was soooo bad! burnt /dry/ no flavor at all,already had a couple bites, so i was stuck with it, NO BUENO! then my GF got the pasta, one bite that was it! pasta with some kind of gravy on it...NO BUENO!... NEVER AGAIN! was going to be a special night..x-mas eve..then they just gave us a bill$$$$ worst dinner i had in TAOS..

    Staying at the Blake. Hotel is amazing too bad that the restaurant is terrible. Menu is so random. We are in new Mexico hoping to get some green chili and rather than menu is random Italian and steak. I can get Italian and steak anywhere but chili not so much. I also asked for a glass of Pinot noir and was told that they were out of glasses but I could order a bottle. Wth? Also in the ski village they have a local distillery so my husband wanted to try a martini with the local alcohol. They don't have local. Again wth? Just random. And breakfast is another fiasco. Stay at the Blake but avoid 192.

    The service was excellent, although the bar was a little slow in getting our glass of wine and glass of scotch to us. We were disappointed you were out of pizza, but the burger was excellent. The presentation of the bread plate was very nice. I wished you had some additional spaghetti sauces. Maybe spaghetti and meatballs together. Men like beef. The cannolis were delicious. Robin Ricks

    I never leave bad reviews, but this stands out as an impressively rough experience and I wish I’d paid more attention to the reviews before dining here. We ate dinner at 192 in early October (very much the off-season for the resort/valley) and basically had the restaurant entirely to ourselves. It’s a beautiful and clean space, and extremely convenient when you’re staying at the Blake in the off-season as very few places in town are open.*(See end of review) Our server was awkward, but very kind, and he was definitely the highlight of the experience. Someone at my table ordered the margarita and then the mule to drink and both were truly horrible. If you are a vegetarian, your only dinner option is Tempeh, so if you hate a nutty flavor like I do, you’re going to have to go hungry unless there’s a special. One of the “specials” that evening was minestrone soup, so I ended up having that for dinner while my husband had the trout. The trout was flavorless and mediocre, at best, and the whole menu is ludicrously priced. My $18 minestrone (I’m laughing as I type this…unbelievable) was a cold and watery marinara sauce full of a startling amount of chickpeas, a few potatoes(??), some celery, and a small handful of macaroni noodles. For desert, we had a peanut butter pie that had clearly been in the freezer, pre-sliced, for several months and the outside of the slice edge was noticeably dried out and crusty. It’s such a lovely resort, but I will never eat at their restaurant again. (*the Ale House in TSV was fabulous the same week, so it’s not as though the whole area is horrible for dining in the off-season - just 192)

    Not very well staffed - no bussers and looked like only 1 waiter. We were seated for 20 minutes before anyone even came to see if we had a server. We asked for bread but that only came when our appetizers finally came. Filet mignon was really good but should be for $60/plate. Chicken main dish was very over cooked/dry. Also shared a salad (ok/pretty good) and fried artichoke hearts (pretty good). Wine menu only listed red wines that they didn’t have but we found one they did have that was yummy enough.

    We had dinner and breakfast. The dinner menu was simple but had varied choices. One of us had the trout and one had the filet. Both were were prepared and presented. Breakfast was a buffet. It was standard breakfast buffet fare typical of high end hotels. The service at both meals was professional. The earlier reviews were quite critical but the restaurant has upped its game.

    A great option for those living in the ski valley! I have several recommendations: 1) improve the quality of background music. After several visits, I understand that the ambiance changes daily. One song I remember from last night was “Oh Johnnie Boy”. The music made us feel much older than we are and did nothing to create comfortable energy. 2) With a $24-25. hamburger, standard mustard should be readily available in bottle or an individual serving. Dijon mustard comes in a small cup ; standard mustard comes in plastic packets that you tear open individually / much like a Sonic drive-in. 3) our table was structurally unstable and had to be secured with your foot to assure it not “wabbling”. Wait staff/bar tender were great. The greeter and cooking staff personalities seemed untrained and unconcerned. “All” staff should have a certain level of training to be on the same page. Decor and ambiance were great (other than the background music). Thank you, Mike/Debbie Houx ; 127 Twining. PS : We’ll be back! Parking crew is consistently great!

    We enjoyed an early, quiet dinner at 191. The trout was cooked to perfection:: moist and tender. We felt the burrata salad was good but seemed over-priced at $19.00. Our server was attentive, friendly and professional.
