Food was good but ambience was lacking. Sitting poolside while guests were romping and splashing around in the pool leaves little to be desired. Also hostess sat an extremely smelly man right next to our table which completely ruined our meal and sensory palate. The odor/smell was so bad we had to leave. With all the empty tables there, to sit an obviously repugnant smell right on top of us, was completely uncaring, distasteful and lacking in awareness.
Probably the worst food I’ve had in 12 years of visiting Palm Springs.
We loved everything we tried at the Purple Palm! Our favorite meal in Palm Springs! We went on a really quiet night and had a memorable experience.
Steak was well flavored but full of fat.
Sunday brunch was terrific. We had friends in from out of town. The outdoor seating is poolside and makes for excellent ambience and the real feel of a vacation in the desert...a completely laid back vibe of a life you wished you could live everyday. The menu was perfect...a little something for everyone but not too extensive that it was impossible to decide. There were plenty of breakfast and lunch items as well as healthy choices. The 4 of us had a variety including, traditional eggs, the cheeseburger, Caesar salad, and the egg sandwich on a croissant. Everyone was very pleased. We will definitely be back.
Great atmosphere and the food and staff were amazing.
Lovely atmosphere. Apps better than the entrees. Salmon was flavorless and forgettable.
Breakfast date with daughter pool side was fabulous
The ambience .. the food .. the service . Everything was absolutely amazing . It was recommended to us by a local and I was so impressed and happy that we got the chance to try it while we were visiting . I would highly recommend it .
Love the place. Great for casual dining with a touch of elegance. Food was superb and staff was exceptional.
Perfection. Thank you So much. Great service, food, and ambience,
This little gem has a very unusual esoteric menu. The food flavors are unique and sometimes compete with each other. Be sure to ask the waiter to describe the dishes that catch you interest. All in all, a veery nice treat.
Beautiful space both inside and out. Great servers. Menu quite good and excellent bar and wine list.
Always a great meal, unless they get full to capacity.
Good. I didn’t get my points for this reservation again ..: Not happy
The location of the hotel and restaurant is right in the heart of Palm Springs. This charming Spanish style location is relaxing and quiet. The restaurant is very nice and the service is excellent. Patricia took great care of us.
We ordered the chicken & bacon wrap sandwich and the House-Smoked Vietnamese sausage sandwich. Both were really delicious. We shared the caramelized banana chocolate hazelnut cake with salted caramel gelato for dessert. Excellent!
It was a memorable meal.
The food was good, steak was awesome..pork shank was good, rich! Loved the beet salad w/burrata.. The greeter was awesome!
Loved it, beautiful location, wonderful wait staff, excellent food.
Chef special menu, amazing food, service and excellent bourbon drink specials...
The Purple Palm is top of the list when entertaining people from out of town. It exudes the quintessential vintage Palm Springs vibe. Beautiful mountain views serve as the backdrop of the classic hotel and the pool with surrounding gardens.
On this occasion everyone in our party were completely satisfied with the inventive cocktails (Doll Squad is great!) and the delicious food - Grilled Octopus, Strozzapreti Pasta and Grilled Barramundi to mention just a few favorites.
All of this is brought together with professional, attentive, friendly service.
Looking forward to next time!
Cozy, hip dining room with outdoor seating overlooking the pool. Outstanding contemporary cuisine with very friendly, professional service. A hidden gem for casual upscale dining.
The host wasn’t very accommodating about seating arrangements
Great food, service & ambiance. Interesting menu.
The food here is great under the current chef. I especially love the octopus and the baramundi, but even the vegetarian pasta is incredible. You must sit outside - it is pool side and at least one of you will have a great view of the mountain, and it is very pleasant. You can watch the hotel guests at the pool. Inside it is a cacophony!
Friends Sunday night out
The menu was interesting and meals prepared with care; delicious. Our server was very attentive and a delight. The outside dining is picturesque, but it was too warm for the patio
when we arrive. The dining room is rather impersonal and pool goers coming and going a
distraction. The dining room is the only thing we found wanting.
As always U did not disappoint.. Everything was perfect from the presentation of the food; to the food it's self ; & the service was just wonderful.
One of our favorite places to dine out.
i think the chef wants to do something different with the various foods, but it just doesn't make it. salmon was in some kind of sauce that tasted awful and made the fish almost inedible. my daughter's strip steak was good, but everything else, from salad to veggies was just too different for my tastes.
Probably the best restaurant in Palm Springs. Old Movie Colony charm with really creative cuisine.
What a pleasant escape from the heat of the desert. The interior of the Purple Palm is exotic and the brunch choices delightful. Couple that with a very pleasant server and you have a good recipe for a fun meal.
I don’t why I didn’t points for my reservation
2 couples dined at PP last Saturday, celebrating 2 birthdays. Informed PP of birthdays when making reservation and again when seated.
The room was super noisy, even partially full and warm. Over 80 degrees, which the waiter noted was unavoidable having doors open to the pool non-stop. which resulted in damp bathing suit attired folks walking by our table on the way to the restrooms.
We were there during Restaurant Week, so ordered from the limited prix-fix menu. The food was good. The waiter was out-standing, recommending a red wine that we enjoyed. Pricey, but enjoyable. The complimentary hot bread was great.
All in, we spent about $100 / person. There are better options.
Solid food but atrocious, inattentive service - and this was on a slow night for them.
We had a delightful dinner at Purple Palm. The service was very attentive and friendly and we had a majestic view of the mountains to enjoy at sunset. The ciabatta bread service that was offered was very good, crusty and good butter. The ceviche was actually like a spicy curry poke salad - it was excellent and we loved the crispy oversized tortilla bread it was served with. Tasted like a spin on doritos! We also enjoyed the amberjack crudo which was fresh and the flavors of the orange and garnish was perfect following the spicier ceviche. The caeser salad was average, and slightly odd with crumbled boiled egg. The west indian inspired Carrot soup with a coconut croquette was sublime! For our mains we had the qual which was exceptionally prepared, very flavorful - almost like an asian mushroomy flavor, asparagus, and then garnished with black berries for an interesting palate twist. For dessert we shared the cheesecake which was bruleed on top and the plate was dotted with dulce de leche. The base of the cheesecake was some crumbly something that was forgettable. The portion of cheesecake was too large and should be a more delicate size. The hotel property is lovely and surrounded with beautiful plants and greenery. We got to spot some hummingbirds enjoying sips of nectar from the flowering plants and enjoy the sunset off the mountains facing the front of the property. Definitely recommend for a nice intimate dinner.
Eggs Benedict was horrible: overdone eggs and some unidentifiable brown sauce over a stale english muffin served with about 10 over cooked home fries. Denny’s would have been much (!!) better.
Really nice atmosphere. Drinks are tasty. Ask for the kids menu.
The food was great and the atmosphere very nice for brunch. But service was slow and we were ignored for too long.
We had a great time at The Purple Palm. Our server Katherine gave great recommendations and we all enjoyed our food. The service was excellent, and the ambiance was very nice. We will definitely be back.
The food was well prepared. The combinations were unique. For example, I had quail which included blackberries and asparagus in a cream sauce. My only compliant (which isn't the restaurant's fault) was that 4 of the 7 entrees available were prepared with some type of truffle or mushroom which I am allergic to. It limited my choices. I had the Sangria which was nice and light while my husband had a twist on a Mule drink that included peach. We sat outside which was nice. Our server was amazingly kind and very attentive.
