Purple Palm at the Colony Palms Hotel
Situated in the magnificent courtyard of the Colony Palms Hotel, the restaurant design evokes the glamour of the 1930’s and 40’s when the Colony Palms was “the” place to be seen in Palm Springs. Amazing food, stunning decor, mountain views, and gracious service…what more can be said?

Such a nice location and I like the decor but the noise level is real high. Food was very good. I
We ordered 4 apps & it was perfect. Service was attentive & pleasant. Very attractive space.
Our new favorite spot in the desert!! Great service and interesting and healthy food at a fair price!
We've eaten at the Purple Palms a few times before, and this latest trip revealed that the restaurant wasn't just as good as it had been, but it was even better. We loved sharing the small, creative and tasty plates. The service was attentive and friendly, the decor lovely and sophisticated. I'm sometimes hesitant to eat in a hotel restaurant, but the Purple Palms lives up to the class and sophistication of the Colony Palms. This was my favorite meal on our trip to Palm Springs.
Very loud inside could not hear our guests-
Food was average at best and very very small portions for what they charge.
Better off going to other restaurants in the same price range.
We were impressed by the excellent service, which only made the very tasty meals even more appreciated! One of our party had ordered the Palm Burger well done, and it came out sort of medium... Not only did the waitress apologize right away, but the chef came out and someone else (manager?)...and then a whole new burger was prepared and grilled to our friend's preference. Because this meant that our friend's corrected meal came out long after the rest of us had finished, the waitress took the cost of the late meal off the bill. We found that especially nice...and we otherwise all enjoyed our meals very much. Everything was fresh and well prepared. Will definitely return!
Fantastic. The parmesan fries are to die for!
Family Trip Dining was great even with 2 kids. Amazing service with a smile.
sadly mediocre food, with the kind of dishes where you wonder if the sauce/veggies would much better fit to a completely different type of meat/fish. everything smelled as if it had been fried in the same, bad frying oil. hosts tried their best, atmosphere ok-ish, but really everything felt a bit too cheap for the prices.
Our server was great
We're vegans and the general manager & chef were very accommodating!
Was great..... pricey but overall ok,,,, limited timing with kitchen closing early but overall ok
Went for NYE dinner prefix menu $95.00 - had the celery root/apple soup - delicious and warming, crab fritters were delicious with lots of crab and spice, had the pasta main and was a little disappointed. The meal was overall delicious and the service was outstanding considering how busy the restaurant was.
NYE dinner for two, and we loved it. Thanks!
Yummy and super cute setting!
Having had dinner at the Purple Palm on numerous occasions, we decided to try it for lunch during the holidays. Wonderful choice! The lunch food was equal to the usual great fare at dinner. Good, fresh beet salad, and a chicken wrap. All excellent...in the usual great setting. Thanks.
The cheese platter ❤️❤️❤️
Main course came before appetizers.
Everything is perfect from ambient, food and cocktail !
When we made reservations, there was no indication that we would be forced to sit outside in the cold. We asked to please sit inside but were told there were no tables for two available inside. Throughout our meal and as we were leaving, we saw plenty of empty tables inside where we could have been seated. Terrible customer service!
A fun Palm Spring classic with an unique history.
Fun to people watch. The ceviche was amazing. The Cuban made my boys mouths water.
Severely Limited menu because of Christmas Eve, but no notice of that when reserved
Service spotty although waiter was nice
Meal took forever because kitchen misplaced order
Entrees were poor
Initial wine bottle was corky and returned but it took 15 minutes for a replacement to be delivered
Very bad experience. Only fixed when they comped check
Great food, great service , and great atmosphere with a 1950's vibe. Will definitely go back.
We had Christmas Eve dinner here. The menu was fixed, and the food was excellent. There was only one choice for dessert, pudding that didn’t sound great. They swapped espresso for the pudding for no extra charge. The only reason I didn’t give the experience 5 stars is because of the cocktails. I ordered an old fashioned and a sidecar. Neither was good. The old fashioned had a cinnamon, bitter flavor. The sidecar was too sour and didn’t taste fresh but as if was made with a drink mix.
We had dinner Xmas eve. The food was very good, and we very much enjoyed the ambience. Lovely space.
This is a magical place! We went for Christmas eve and loved their prix fix menu. We sat by the pool and the ambiance was just perfect. We highly recommend this place!
The food was awesome. The Salmon and duck were cooked to perfection. In the case of salmon, undercooked as asked for. The sauces were delicious.
Decent fare with an international flare in a casual setting with a relaxed poolside vibe. Started out well with excellent warm bread and butter. Our table had the: crab fritters (very tasty), scallop dumplings (sauce was very flavorful but overpowered center- could have been anything in there), pumpkin salad (was expecting warm pumpkin but was good nonetheless), curry cauliflower (excellent flavor but would have loved some more crispness to the cauliflower to contrast the dish) and the pork with corn and tomatoes (pork tender, but as I feared, much too late in the season for corn and tomatoes and both were pretty flavorless. For a $30 dish, this was a bit disappointing). We also had the banana chocolate dessert (I’m not sure we’ve ever eaten a dessert so fast-very lovely!) and a couple of cocktails (ok- nothing to write home about). Overall, the food was interesting and flavorful and this may be one of the more solid options in the area- definitely our best meal in a few days here
Uninspired lunch dishes for the price. Cuban sandwich which was highly recommended by waiter was average.
Always a great choice for lunch /dinner..beautiful views..transported for a moment to a very European environ...pool/mountain views spectacular! Service the BEST!!
Not our first visit, and certainly won't be our last!
The Purple Palm hits it out of the ballpark with a creative, yet delicious menu, with something for everyone. I took my two employees + husband for our company Christmas dinner - EVERYTHING was beyond delicious! Honestly, everything, from the salads to starters, and entrees and deserts. The prefect experience... bravo!
Love Love Love this space. Feels like 'CLASSIC old Palm Springs' before they blocked the view w/another modern Orange County-esque hotel & put H & M smack in the middle of our sweet village. Foods ALWAYS interesting & surprising. It's got it all. Including Chef Nick Tall!!!
Great place to have lunch with great food.
Loved it! Peaceful setting and ambiance.
Dined here a number of times, one of our PS favorites - Brunch poolside is wonderful!
Seated for dinner, the menu was a shock - nothing of interest to us, over-worked with weird combos. We looked at each other and said, can you find something to eat?? NOT a good sign...
The waiter assured us the combos were awesome, the flavors unique.
All three dishes came out lukewarm, we DID NOT like the flavors, the lamb unexceptional and the cactus inedible, the short ribs awful. However - the cauliflower dish had wonderful flavor, but it was not hot from the oven and somewhat lukewarm.
The kitchen had no command over the products, nobody knew what they were doing, it was a disaster.
The restaurant kindly comped our entire meal - as they should have. It was a horrible performance.
We will be back - scrutinizing the menu and encouraging this restaurant to get back on the right track again - and SOON!!!
We had lunch the week after thanksgiving so it was quiet but I can imagine it gets really busy here, the food was excellent and the server was great. I have been wanting to stay at this hotel and after seeing how quaint is was will definitely come back again. The fish tacos were excellent!
Good food and very rich! Beautiful surroundings. Great coffee! (Americano with steamed milk!)
We had a lovely evening. Really like the retro setting. The waiter was fabulous - attentive and informative. The food was very good. We will go back for a special dinner.
Very good - beautiful grounds!
