The host wasn’t very accommodating about seating arrangements
Great food, service & ambiance. Interesting menu.
The food here is great under the current chef. I especially love the octopus and the baramundi, but even the vegetarian pasta is incredible. You must sit outside - it is pool side and at least one of you will have a great view of the mountain, and it is very pleasant. You can watch the hotel guests at the pool. Inside it is a cacophony!
Friends Sunday night out
The menu was interesting and meals prepared with care; delicious. Our server was very attentive and a delight. The outside dining is picturesque, but it was too warm for the patio
when we arrive. The dining room is rather impersonal and pool goers coming and going a
distraction. The dining room is the only thing we found wanting.
As always U did not disappoint.. Everything was perfect from the presentation of the food; to the food it's self ; & the service was just wonderful.
One of our favorite places to dine out.
i think the chef wants to do something different with the various foods, but it just doesn't make it. salmon was in some kind of sauce that tasted awful and made the fish almost inedible. my daughter's strip steak was good, but everything else, from salad to veggies was just too different for my tastes.
Probably the best restaurant in Palm Springs. Old Movie Colony charm with really creative cuisine.
What a pleasant escape from the heat of the desert. The interior of the Purple Palm is exotic and the brunch choices delightful. Couple that with a very pleasant server and you have a good recipe for a fun meal.
I don’t why I didn’t points for my reservation
2 couples dined at PP last Saturday, celebrating 2 birthdays. Informed PP of birthdays when making reservation and again when seated.
The room was super noisy, even partially full and warm. Over 80 degrees, which the waiter noted was unavoidable having doors open to the pool non-stop. which resulted in damp bathing suit attired folks walking by our table on the way to the restrooms.
We were there during Restaurant Week, so ordered from the limited prix-fix menu. The food was good. The waiter was out-standing, recommending a red wine that we enjoyed. Pricey, but enjoyable. The complimentary hot bread was great.
All in, we spent about $100 / person. There are better options.
Solid food but atrocious, inattentive service - and this was on a slow night for them.
We had a delightful dinner at Purple Palm. The service was very attentive and friendly and we had a majestic view of the mountains to enjoy at sunset. The ciabatta bread service that was offered was very good, crusty and good butter. The ceviche was actually like a spicy curry poke salad - it was excellent and we loved the crispy oversized tortilla bread it was served with. Tasted like a spin on doritos! We also enjoyed the amberjack crudo which was fresh and the flavors of the orange and garnish was perfect following the spicier ceviche. The caeser salad was average, and slightly odd with crumbled boiled egg. The west indian inspired Carrot soup with a coconut croquette was sublime! For our mains we had the qual which was exceptionally prepared, very flavorful - almost like an asian mushroomy flavor, asparagus, and then garnished with black berries for an interesting palate twist. For dessert we shared the cheesecake which was bruleed on top and the plate was dotted with dulce de leche. The base of the cheesecake was some crumbly something that was forgettable. The portion of cheesecake was too large and should be a more delicate size. The hotel property is lovely and surrounded with beautiful plants and greenery. We got to spot some hummingbirds enjoying sips of nectar from the flowering plants and enjoy the sunset off the mountains facing the front of the property. Definitely recommend for a nice intimate dinner.
Eggs Benedict was horrible: overdone eggs and some unidentifiable brown sauce over a stale english muffin served with about 10 over cooked home fries. Denny’s would have been much (!!) better.
Really nice atmosphere. Drinks are tasty. Ask for the kids menu.
The food was great and the atmosphere very nice for brunch. But service was slow and we were ignored for too long.
We had a great time at The Purple Palm. Our server Katherine gave great recommendations and we all enjoyed our food. The service was excellent, and the ambiance was very nice. We will definitely be back.
The food was well prepared. The combinations were unique. For example, I had quail which included blackberries and asparagus in a cream sauce. My only compliant (which isn't the restaurant's fault) was that 4 of the 7 entrees available were prepared with some type of truffle or mushroom which I am allergic to. It limited my choices. I had the Sangria which was nice and light while my husband had a twist on a Mule drink that included peach. We sat outside which was nice. Our server was amazingly kind and very attentive.
this is one of my favorite restaurants in Palm Springs. whether for casual dining or special occasion this is the right place.
Fabulous. Great food - great service. $20 for a glass of champagne - little out of line but over all outstanding.
It’s the start of “slow season” in the desert and that certainly had an impact on our evening ... very good and very gracious service as well as excellent food, so we would recommend to others, but not much fun when there are only two other tables dining.
Images presented by the hotel showed an upscale,Moroccan vibe with tile and lanterns and opulent fixtures... filled with fun folks. We got fussy wallpaper, western styled chandeliers and conference room chairs.
As others warned, don’t think sitting outside is a good option - you are quite literally three feet from the pool
edge - well into the splash zone, if ANYONE is there.
I’m glad we tried it....
Went for my birthday, brought dessert and no candle. Everyone told them when we got there. Little disappointing.
Delicious food and cocktails. Good service. Lovely poolside table.
Great ambiance, romantic, delicious food and cocktails
Great service and food. The cocktails are good. The ambiance was gorgeous and perfect for a date. I'll definitely be back to try more cocktails. The price is also decent so I will definitely be back.
My two friends and I LOVED this place! We mostly came for the fun wallpaper but our meals were amazing as well! We went for brunch on a Monday morning before heading back to LA and we had the place to ourselves. There were hotel guests by the pool outside but it was a nice, quiet, calm, atmosphere. It was perfect!
Everything was outstanding. It has a sophisticated yet unpretentious ambience.
Purple Palm is one of my favorite places to take friends while they’re visiting Palm Springs. Delicious food and cocktails. Excellent service. Gorgeous interior, but nothing’s better than dining poolside, with the dramatic mountain view.
Expected so much more! I don’t know if they were understaffed or this is the norm but such a beautiful ambiance should have better attention to detail. It started as we were escorted to the bar where we choose to dine, which was yet to be cleared from the previous guest. I would think they would have had us wait in the reception area but we watched them clear the area, wipe it with a wet cloth (clean?) but not dry it and reset. Drinks were good but never asked if we wanted a second. Our bottled water was never to be seen again until we were leaving. Now the food...the ceviche was just too spicy for no particular reason. It didn’t enhance it and was almost intolerable. The pasta was dry and bland. The pork shank was tender but lacked flavor. I guess I am being generous giving the food 3 stars.
Great setting and great food. Total class. My favorite fine dining restaurant in Palm Springs.
Put this destination on your list as the service & food are definitely worth it!
Old Hollywood charm seeps through the delightful, surrounding garden.
Enjoyed a very wonderful dinner at The Purple Palm. Shared a duck dumpling appetizer and I had the pumpkin crab soup which was awesome and my spouse loved the beet salad with figs. Our entrees were the scallops and roasted pork that were prepared perfectly and Jose our waiter was exceptional😍
We were staying at the Colony Palms so it was a no-brainer to try the onsite restaurant. Wow - so glad we did! The food is delicious, beaurifully presented, and innovatively prepared. We ate breakfast there all three days, dinner on our anniversary, and had starters and drinks at the bar twice. Exceptional food, beautiful location right off the pool with gorgeous mountain views, and attentive, pleasant staff. Can't say enough good things about this spot.
The food here was very disappointing compared to previous visits. The food used to be special and now it’s just ordinary. Maybe there’s a new chef.
We enjoyed brunch poolside among kids, dogs and couples. It was a lovely atmosphere. Amazing and funny servers. The best bloody Mary I've maybe ever had! I would definitely visit PP again!
We had an early Sunday brunch here. Seated poolside, Purple Palm is quintessentially Palm Springs. The brunch menu was good. Bloody Marys, eggs Benedict and soft-scrambled eggs and avocado on toast. The food and drinks were on point.
I honestly thought when I made the reservation for our Saturday night dinner that based on other reviews, the food would be good, but not great, in a cool atmosphere. I was definitely wrong. It was great food and a great atmosphere. We sat outside by the pool which was lovely and romantic. The food was unique and very good. The green bean starter was my favorite. The only dish I disliked was the caesar salad (way too much anchovy). Our server, Javier, was attentive and excellent. Highly recommend
Outdoor seating is right next to pool. Small tables for 2 not great chairs. Excellent attentive service. Menu interesting. Food good but not great and it is expensive. Drinks likewise pricey.
