Pulehu, an Italian Grill

Every entree was incredibly presented. Taste bud popping for the entire palate! Service was very attentive without being intrusive. This is our second visit and the quinine is top notch. Value score only 4 due to overall price but we don’t want to overemphasize that aspect. We’d be back!!
Second time, both times sensational. Thoroughly recommended.
Good food; great service
Just a resort hotel restaurant. Convenient for our stay. Have been here before with our kids.
Great Italian food will go again. Kinda of out of the way so I was not aware of it glad we found it
Lovely environment. Delicious food and very well catered to our gluten and dairy free diets. Our waiter, Jimmy, even brought out gluten free bread.
Very good Italian food overlooking Koi Pond at the Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas. There is focus on curating fine wines to go with Italian Cuisine that we found well executed with assortment of Italian, California and other wines. House made pasta, traditional pasta dishes and fresh fish are all executed well with limited menu that helps the kitchen. Portions are smaller than we are used to on East Coast but we actually liked that small plate feature.
View is gorgeous. However, the food did not meet expectations. Rao’s canned spaghetti sauce is more flavorful, the meatballs were dense, the coffee crème brûlée was soupy, and the biscottis were grainy.
Further, the information on Open Table doesn’t match reality: the sunset menu is only available from 5:00 to 5:30, and the menu is wrong or outdated. I was looking forward to the budino shown on the Open Table menu but it was not available.
Our server was not very attentive and didn’t seem to care whether our meal was great or not.
One of our favorite restaurants on Maui.
We had reservations and were seated promptly next to the koi pond. A great setting for dinner! After we ordered drinks we ordered an appetizer of Brussels sprouts, flash fried then topped with bacon lards and goat cheese. That's the way to start a meal!
Each of the four in our party ordered different entrees and each were great. Ordered were lasagne, spaghettini and meatballs, catch of the day and seared ahi. Pulehu has a great wine list and we are always able to find something to our liking. Desserts of sorbet finished the meal and throughout we had flawless service from Jimmy.
When on the island we tend to eat at Pulehu three times over a two-week period.
We eat here every time on Maui, and recommend it often
We had a great dinner and wonderful service. Love the atmosphere there.
Love Pulehu and Jimmy was excellent
This is a very good restaurant in our timeshare resort, the Westin KOV North. The food is excellent. The wine list is well stocked with reasonably priced wine and the service is always very good.
The risotto fish and a bottle of wine was amazing! Come at sunset when the tiki torch guy comes around for a lighting ceremony and enjoy the sunset
Not what it used to be.
Salads great. Macho guy prepared and tastes wonderful as was his chocolate almond olive oil cake w cherry gelato. But nobody seemed to know where the balsamic vinegar was and finally brought out a ramekin if it and not the bottle. New help and well trained
Great experience, great food! We are usually hesitant to try a hotel restaurant, but this is the exception. Our fish was fresh, prepared to perfection, the vegetables were crisp and fresh, and the service was friendly and attentive. The koi pond views are lovely, though of course an ocean view would be preferred . The wine list is extensive and impressive. We'll return!
What a great find! We were looking for a new place- part of the Marriott family- and stumbled upon this “gem”. Great view of the Westin Koi pond along with tiki torches to add to the ambiance. Our server was fantastic!! And Claudia the MOD - took such great care of us - really everything was “above and beyond”. The app’s, lasagna and fresh fish were so delicious- we will certainly be back. Thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality!! 😀
Decoration was very nice, staff very friendly but food is boarder line. A/C was weak. For the price they asking, food quality is not acceptable. Pasta has no taste, chicken taste old steak is so so. They even manage to screw up my root beer float which looks like melted ice cream and watered down root beer. Too bad if food was better, this would be a very romantic place to dine.
We had the most fabulous server but I can’t remember her name!!! She was so accommodating with all our switches and really attentive while taking care of many tables. Food was good and plentiful. Would definitely go back!
This is a lovely setting for dinner especially if your table is near the water. In the past the service has been perfect but this year our wait staff was abrupt and not very friendly.
Attended wine course and it was very enjoyable. Service was excellent, and food was terrific.
Somewhat overpriced on the food, but that’s what you get for a Resort restaurant, the pasta had a strange texture, I couldn’t tell if it was under cooked or what, but it was very firm. The taste was ok though, my spouse’s dish was the fettuccine with shrimp and vegetables, just run of the mill nothing special. Would probably not return.
the food was cooked perfectly, well seasoned, local fish. excellent service.
I loved our waitress! She was adorable and we had such a good time with her. Ursula was her name. The food was excellent.
Good Italian food and innovative fish dishes....the ambiance is great...no ocean view but some of the restaurant is outdoor dining. We were there during the nightly torch lighting throughout the Westin property. Fun to watch.
Hands down best food and service!!!! Thank you everyone for making my birthday a special one!!!
Excellent service! Excellent food! Excellent drinks!
Outstanding. The risotto crusted fish is the best I've had on Maui in 10 years. Amazing wine list with some real hidden gems, like Amuse Bouche - Coup de Foudre. Fantastic service too - Jim, Nick, Corey, and Claudia made our night extra special. Thank you, all.
I'm not a fish lover but LOVE your grilled fish over spinach salad w/peppers and chickpeas presentation. Thank you for for having a lighter fare on the menu. Also, my guests and hubby loved their risotto crusted fish. That's always a winner and extra moist/perfectly cooked that evening. 'course, the Brussel sprouts are always awesome as well.
Waitress was excellent, treated us very generously on our anniversary!!!
For the overall experience of this restaurant, I'd skip it and go somewhere else.
Came in with a reservation and got seated pretty promptly which was nice. They never did take into accounts our special occasion or request but that’s okay it was still a decent dinner
Good food and great service! Atmosphere was very nice.
Excellent service and food!
The most amazing lasagna and you can't beat the beautiful setting.
Staff was great. Food was good but unremarkable. Choices were very limited on menu. It was extremely hot and humid, which I know is to be expected for Hawaii but there should have been ceiling fans to move the air at least, I was very uncomfortable for most of the meal. Prices were typical Maui, on the high side but I’ve been to much more high-end restaurants on Maui and have never been charged $19 for a vodka martini. This is a restaurant in a Westin time share, not the Ritz Carlton or Four Seasons.
Jimmy was our waiter and he was fabulous! He knew just how much to interact and when to pull back. His service made the experience even more special. Thanks Jimmy!
Restaurant was pretty empty, it’s inside the Westin residences.
Waited 10 min before someone came to our table and only after another waiter checked with the manager to say we hadn’t been waited on yet. Servers were attentive after that but seemed very young and inexperienced.
My ahi was very very good, but my wife’s Mong Chong was waaayyyyy over cooked. I’ve had Mong Chong before and it can be tough to cook, small margin of error getting it right, but figured if you’re paying $40 for fish it’d be done correctly.
Given the competition in Ka’anapali, I’d say Pulehu was only average.
Great dinner. Great waitress.
