They were wierdly closed . We had to find another restaurant . They did not answer their phone . We went to a lot of trouble to arrange this meal . Very disappointed .
We made a reservation on Open Table and when we got there they were closed!!
When we arrived for our reservation, the restaurant was completely dark and closed. No sign of anyone there. Someone at a nearby shop said no one knew what was going on, but they hadn’t opened for the past 3 days.
Brunch Review: What kind of place doesn't make pancakes on their Sunday brunch menu? This place, which left two of us very, very disappointed. So they had French toast that was, well, bizarre: Flavored with Cap'n Crunch cereal. The lobster roll was quite good, the avocado toast quite unimaginative – toast and avocado (with a poached egg as a tip-o-the-hat to brunch). So the problem is that it's quite lunchy and not adequately brunchy.
And, shouldn't La Jolla restaurants have espresso machines? I think so.
Really lovely outdoor seating area. The food was excellent. Great place to have dinner before seeing a show at The Comedy Store.
Food wasn't that great. Mac and cheese could use some work!
A great local spot. Very gracious manager. Good food with a small but varied menu
Great ambiance, food and service. Very limited indoor and handicapped seating but otherwise excellent!
Disappointed. Came from Scottsdale, good Yelp reviews and eh. Only 2 tables inside, all others are outside. Also, no bar. VERY LIMITED on drinks. Was made very clear that the Sprite we ordered comes in a bottle and NO REFILLS. Lobster Roll, average- served without lemon wedge...weird. The kicker, no bathrooms!!!! you're given a paper coupon to walk outside and down a flight of stairs to use a communal bathroom. How tacky. Sorry, can't recommend this place. I'm sure La Jolla has lots better to offer. Hard pass.
Very enjoyable evening here as always. We come every year from the East coast and never disappointed. I ordered the pasta and my husband ordered the fish tacos. Both were satisfying and delicious. I would have liked bread with my pasta and don't recall being asked.
Danny was our server and he was attentive and polite. We will definitely return.
As usual, the food was delicious and our server Danny made great suggestions as to what we would enjoy. Thanks again!
Had a great time with a friend.
Loved our waiter Danny!!! We enjoyed talking with him and he was very attentive and nice
The bolenesge was great! Definitely would order it again!
I had the fish tacos.
The fish was over cooked and dry.
Our server Danny was good.
Overall it seemed like the "top notch" crew had taken the night off and the staff that was leftover either didn't have the experience or attention to detail that would be considered "business as usual".
I've had wonderful experiences at prep kitchen in the past. I was sad that our New Years Eve dinner was different.
comfortable spot. some great dishes to share--brussel sprouts, Mac n cheese, loaded tater tots. Kyle was at our beck and call, very attentive.
No vegan options for date
The whole dinner experience was fantastic. Great location, great service and a fabulous meal. We started with bacon wrapped dates stuffed with parmesan. OMG. So good. My wife had fish tacos that were really good. I had the short ribs with horseradish mashed potatoes that was as good as it gets. highly recommended!
Food was fresh and cooked well, just a little bland. The service was excellent! Waiter was hilarious!
They don’t have a liquor license and the food options are strictly limited. The little Italy location is way better!!!
The Brussel sprouts were delicious and the service was great. The ambiance was nice, but less formal than we expected from the website when we booked.
The menu was surprisingly small compared to the one shown online, but the food we ordered tasted good. There are too many lights on the patio. The ambiance from the lighting was more like what one would find in a big box store, white and bright. The lighting needs to be warmer and less bright to be inviting.
Exceptionally wonderful; Danny as a waiter did a great job after being greeted by Kyle. Their trademark Brussels sprouts continued to be excellent; with the lobster roll and special lemon chicken dinners just wonderful. They pride themselves on a small menu to ensure that everything is prepared fresh and served in exemplary style; they met this expectation. A must stop when in the area!
Limited menu, small portions, good but nothing special. Felt like they wanted to close up and go home at 7:15 PM.
PrepKitchen La Jolla is one of my favorite places to dine in La Jolla! It's quiet with a very pleasant outdoor setting. The food is varied and always very good. The service is excellent.
The food was delicious - great flavors! And the service was very friendly. We sat outside - nice atmosphere on the patio on a quiet Friday night.
Awesome! Great service, food and fun. We can't wait to come back. Just a beautiful part of the world.
Had some family in from out of town and took them here. Fantastic experience. Food was amazing and the vibe was exactly what I was looking for
Highly recommend this spot for a lovely brunch experience. Great service and food.
It was so good! Everything is done simply well and our server was very pleasant!
Waitstaff was lovely and knowledgeable about the menu. Food was tasty. Service was prompt.
So great - all the staff were awesome!
It was amazing!!
Service was slow and the server was not attentive. We almost got up and left die to sitting at the table for 10 mins without being greated. The most exciting part was the Brussel sprouts. So good.
The food was excellent, they catered to vegetarian and gluten-free members of our party, and the service was on point. Will definitely be back!
Great find. We were visiting from the East coast. We had three separate meaningful conversations with tables nearby. Always a plus for us to sit in a restaurant with great food and service AND find happy, positive people that start up conversations.
The fact I could get a Sunday brunch reservation was amazing! We had 7 of us at 1:00pm - met friends visiting from NYC. Such a perfect location, right in town. And the setting was great - under some trees, and a blue, blue sky.
Our server was very attentive, drinks came out quickly (yummy bloody mary!)
Food was great - chilaquillas were delicious (not spicy - that's up to you!) 2 of our friends were very happy with their lobster roles. Overall, great experience. Highly recommend!
Highly recommend! Great salmon dish and a nice outdoor patio. Very good and friendly servers in a quiet casual setting.
Great meal, enjoyed space on the shaded patio. Food was good, however limited vegan options for one member of our group. Presentation great!
Lovely, quiet dinner. Great food, accommodating staff.
