The food was delicious and it was a great value for the portions they gave. The rainbow trout was cooked to perfection with yummy sides. The service was fantastic. I was surprised this place wasn't packed. Overall a great experience for a nice night out while on vacation
It was COLD inside the restaurant. Our waiter was not all there either.
Very nice service and awesome food! Couldn’t have asked for a better night of food and celebration!
We had a very nice dinner at Post Oak Grill. Service from the valet to the waiters to the bus staff was top notch. The ambiance was on the quiet side, and we know the place would normally be rocking with Christmas parties if not for COVID. The crab cake appetizer, wedge salad, and lollipop lamb were all exceptional. The surf and turf, and our three layer chocolate cake dessert were average. Post Oak Grill has always been a classy place, and our first time back in many years did not disappoint. All in all it was a very nice meal, and we look forward to coming back.
They could have used a few more waiters.
Thanksgiving here was delightful. We had a tasty meal, complete with all the usual fare, plus great selection of other entrees. The flounder was done to perfection. Enough variety for everyone. Desserts were just awesome. Service was attentive and prompt. Highly recommend it! Plan to make this one of my go to places.
Everything was fine except the Ribeye steak. Wanted medium rare and 1st one was closer to medium well. 2nd one wasn't much better unfortunately.
Post Oak Grill always hits a homerun! I invited some friends that had never been to the POG and they loved it! Chef Polo always provides great off menu specials! 5 Stars!
Their food is always delicious and different than anywhere else! Service is outstanding.
Vicente was great went for Houston restaurant week and food was presentable and tasty
service was slow but due to the events of the world--I understand. Keep up the good work
Our large group dined during restaurant week and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The food and service were excellent. Arrive early to enjoy a drink in the bar area before your meal!
Our waiter was excellent and the food was fantastic. Had the crab crusted flounder. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for foodies.
Food was good but took too long to get. Waiter was terrible. No ambiance whatsoever. Wouldn’t go back...
The service was amazing and the food was really good. I enjoyed my dinner immensely. Every server greeted me and that was so nice .
Superb food and outstanding service in a relaxed setting.
We went for the Houston Restaurant weeks menu and really enjoyed our evening!
Our server was so accommodating and really took care of us. I had the surf and turf and it was cooked to perfection. We will certainly return to the Post Oak Grill !!!
I would love to give this restaurant 5 stars because the food was excellent. However, the service was lacking. It took a while for the waiter to take our cocktail order. The Tanqueray martini I ordered consisted of crushed ice and water. It tasted as though no gin was in the drink. Many of the wines shown on the wine list were not available. The bottle of wine that we did order was not poured into our glasses after the first glass was poured. We had to pour our own wine until the bottle was finished. The food, however, was excellent!
Fabulous food and service
Food was great! Tasted awesome and proportion Was very well balanced.
The food here is always excellent, and the service outstanding.
Nice place. Great location! Service was wonderful!
POG is an excellent location for a business discussion, complimented by excellent food and service. Compliments to Polo and his staff.
The new menu includes several wonderful salads. Excellent!!
Great job as always. Excellent food and service. I will definitely visit again!
The staff was helpful and attentive to our needs . The food was excellent
Food was really good. Service was dependable. Restaurant is a little dated, but comfortable. I noted on our OT reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary, but that was not acknowledged at all. Not a biggie, but it would have been nice.
Hostess did not have anybody’s reservation. Server came late to our table. Got seated without a menu or silverware. Reservation were at 9pm, food was served at 10:50pm. Multiple people asked for the manger but the owner/manger never came out of the back office. First and last time dining at this restaurant.
Worst service and wait time was super long. They overbooked and could not keep up with anything. Worst experience ever!
On Valentine's it was awful. The service was slow and the waiter was unfriendly. There was one pre-set menu for that day and he failed to bring us a course and was planning on skipping the dessert until we reminded him. When asked about the skipped second course, he sounded annoyed and tried to demean the item, saying "it's just a small order of sorbet, do you want it?" I replied, 'well I'm already paying for it aren't I?" He brought us the wrong item still.
Then when he brought me the wrong dessert, I let him know and because he was in a rush, he tried to 'fix' the issue by giving us a to-go order of ANOTHER wrong dessert. Felt like he didn't want to give us our preferred options. I used to love this place, but it left such a bad taste in my mouth, my husband and I will likely never return, and I'll encourage others to pass on it as well.
When we arrived for our reservation there were 6 people waiting to be seated and we waited for 35 mins then we were told they didn’t have any additional seating for our reservation. People were walking out because they were not being served. I understand that it was Valentine’s Day but for them to ruin valentines for us and not even have the courtesy to call or at least let us know when we arrived that there will be no seats for us it is not acceptable and I will never return to this place.
I don't like to give bad reviews but, I was asked to give one so here goes. When I booked the reservation for Valentine's dinner 2020 I read the reviews and found most were low due to poor service. I took the reviews lightly as not everyone views service the same. However; I was stunned at how poor the service was. After flagging down a waiter we were told with a frown that they were very busy. I can appreciate that but, should the customer suffer for being short staffed or over booked? Especially for a special event like Valentine's Day.
Service took forever.
Had it set up with too many tables in the main room! Food was good, however the service was poor! Waiters had too many tables assigned to them! Last time for our group of six to go there!
We arrived around 7:30 PM. Even tho, we selected Bar Dinner on our reservation; they seated us in the restaurant area. Luckily, we had friends there who reserve a table in Bar area for us by surprised. We were seated buy 7:45 PM; but didn't get our drinks taken till 9 PM and shortly food order after. Drinks came at 9:30 pm and no server came by until we track them down for drinks refilled. The First course was the either appetizer/salad/soup which came out at 10:20 PM, then the Main course at 10:30 PM. Finally, last course desert (size of a mini desert) came out at 10:50 PM. Restaurant close at 11 PM.
They only had Valentine Menu to choose from that cost $55 per person. The 3-Course meal was tiny portion and not worth $55/person. However, the food was very tasty; but not sure if its truly tasty or we were so hungry. They were almost full and was under staff on hand. On normal day, they are over staff because restaurant is usually pretty empty except for Bar area when there a live band. I was very disappointed and taking my friends and it was their first time and probably last for them.
You would think, with a limited menu to choose from, they would have things pretty ready to go and not take almost 2 hours to get food in our tummy.
Restaurant appeared to be understaffed and overwhelmed by Valentine's day fixed menu dinner crowd.
Service was poor to terrible. We had to beg for a wine list! Then they completely skipped one of the courses. We assume that somehow they had run out, until the party next to us who were seated after us, got theirs.
Reserved two weeks ahead of time for Valentine’s dinner. No word ahead of time on a pre fixed menus. Seated in back corner of their small private room, completely removed from main dining room. Probably worst seat isn house. Non regular waiter served us. Took three hours to be served three course meal. Would never do it again. Never saw anyone checking on our waiter. Had to ask for him several times. Brought incorrect swine orders. Sad!
Great place for a business meeting. Great food, reasonably priced, not too loud so easy to discuss business.
Visiting from Atlanta. Very good service and delicious food.
