    It took forever to be served and the seemed rather understaffed. Gorgeous venue and beautiful view, but considering the value, poor service, poorly done food ( we received scallops that were underdone and needed to be recooked), forgotten orders, and again, just INCREDIBLY SLOW service on a dinner of salad and shareable small plates, it is not a place I would go to again. It was highly disappointing.

    Came out of town to visit our son and decided to come here. The view was amazing great overview of Portland.  Food was overall decent. However, the soup lobster bisque, and the clam chowder was pretty runny/watery. Service/ staff was amazing

    I took my boyfriend here for a birthday dinner and we both absolutely loved it! Our server Marco was so thorough and kind. The manager came over, greeted us, and wished my bf a happy birthday as well. The food was pleasant and the ambience was exceptional. Will be going back!

    Portland City Grill is a true standout. The food is simply amazing. The service is top-notch, with a friendly and knowledgeable staff. The view was amazing.     The food was outstanding. The service, not so much. Our waiter did not return to our table to check on us, my husband’s chicken was burnt and we needed some lemons for our dinner. I was disappointed in the level of service during this visit. Previously, we have had outstanding service and meals.

    We had a great view of the city. Our service was superb. The meal was delicious. I had the bouillabaisse. One friend had the Mediterranean chicken. The other was still full from Thanksgiving so he had a salad and a bowl of chowder. Dinner ended with strawberry shortcake. All in all a wonderful evening!

    had a reservation for 7:45 on thanksgiving and was not seated for an hour and a half after our reservation. Extremely understaffed and not prepared for the holiday rush. Food was subpar.

    We arrived 5 minutes early for our reservation and were told we’d have to wait an hour for our table. We were very lucky to find a table in the bar but our server was slammed with work. They had nice live music but was too loud to carry on a conversation.

    90 minutes late seating us after telling us we were lucky it wasn’t later. Thanksgiving menu tasted like diner food; okay at best and not worth a quarter of the price. Friendly staff, if tired and overwhelmed after management’s extreme overbooking of the restaurant.

    What a disappointment. We booked Thanksgiving dinner here a few weeks in advance. When we arrived shortly before 7:30 reservation it was clear that the restaurant had been oversold. It was packed with people waiting to be seated, presumably also with a reservation. We ended up waiting an hour and half, 9:00 p.m., to be seated for our 7:30 reservation! We ordered the special turkey dinner and it ended up being a slab of processed turkey and an ice cream scoop of mashed potatoes and a scoop of dressing. And it was $69! The wedge salad that came first was good, the dessert that came last was OK. But the whole experience was a huge disappointment. We weren't able to be seated anywhere near a window. And then to end the evening, we had to pay an additional $8 for parking since we ran over our 2.5 hour free parking limit. We should have just gone to a Denny's Restaurant. The food would have been about the same, 1/4 of the price, probably would have gotten a window seat and would have had a free parking space for as long as we stayed there.

    Excellent Thanksgiving dinner at Portland City Grill. Although we had to wait about 45 minutes for our original reservation (as it was the holiday), the food, hospitality and service were all excellent. We were asked to sit at the bar as we awaiting our table and the evening was lovely -- live music with the pianist/singer (we sat near her so it was a bit loud) but guests were gracious and it was nice to enjoy our cocktails near the piano. Our server was wonderful as was our turkey dinner. Dinner overall was about $120 per person (with drinks) but it was Thanksgiving so a little splurge was in order.

    Imagine you book a 7 o’clock reservation for thanksgiving….you arrive and they tell you you’ll have to wait at least an hour for your table …. Exactly, you will. NEver go back and will NEVER recommend it !

    We waited for one hour and a half even though we had a reservation with them. And they only reimbursed our parking ticket partially and we had to pay the remaining fee which was due to the long waiting time in the beginning.

    1. We (and every other person in the entire place) waited 2 hours after our reservation time to be seated 2. They were out of the beet salad on the very limited menu 3. The turkey plate was $118 for two people. Small portions, wasn’t anything special 4. The Cesar salad was not up to par 5. There was a hair on one of the oysters 6. All 3 desserts were terrible We have been here multiple times for thanksgiving and had a wonderful time. I will never be going back for any holiday or major event. Such a disappointment. Drinks & the bartender Chelsea were great 🥂

    Waited over an hour past the reservation time. By the time the food came and was eaten it was past the two and a half hours on the ticket for the car. The manager took my ticket for the car and returned another ticket to me which did not work at the garage. I had to go back upstairs and ask for help to get my car out of the garage. I had a 6:15 reservation and got home at 10:30! By the way, the attendant on the phone at the garage was RUDE!

    I’ve been here twice and I would say this wasn’t my favorite visit. My sister and I had a 6pm Thanksgiving reservation. We got there at 5:50ish and they were 40 minutes behind schedule. We ended up eating in the lounge area instead and enjoyed the same dinner menu. If it wasn’t for the lounge we would have left. I understand it was a holiday but I hope the next one is more efficient.

    This place got good reviews, so I booked it for Thanksgiving. They ran a 3 course deal for $65 per person. Our reservation was for 5:45 and we didn't get seated until 6:30. The Ceasars salad was ok, but the entrees were not good. My mom and I got the turkey, and it was gross tbh. It didn't even taste like real meat (it was rubbery) and had zero flavor. So bland! The stuffing and mashed potatoes were awful. They both tasted like they were something out of a bad school cafeteria. The dessert was pumkin pie, which tasted like it came from a cheap grocery store. Awful service, awful food, and pretty views. I won't ever be back.

    We had reservations for 5:30 pm and when we arrived it was a mass of people waiting to check in and be seated. We were finally seated at 5:55pm at a nice table and from then on the service was very good. The food was tasty for such s busy evening. The chaotic atmosphere upon arriving was unacceptable for a restaurant of this reputation. It was utter chaos but credit to the gentleman checking people in, he had a great attitude and tried to make people feel welcome. Would never go back on a special holiday occasion.

    The individuals we had contact with were great. They paid attention to our wishes and gave us food and drink accurately and quickly. The food selection was good and the dishes we had were good. We enjoyed our drinks in the bar before dinner. The view is outstanding. Very nice overall.

    Very disappointed! We have dined at Portland City Grill numerous times and always had a good experience. BUT, this time, it was not the case. We had a 4:45pm reservation for Thanksgiving dinner. We arrived on time and when we got there, there were people lined up down the hall in a very crowded fashion. We were told that, even though we had a reservation, the wait would be 30-45 minutes to get a table. We were then told that we could sit in the bar area and order off the same menu, without a wait. We decided to do exactly that and found a table. From there, the disappointments just kept coming. The Cesar salad was anemic with very little dressing. My steak/mashed potato's and tempura ($10 add on for 3 small shrimp) were all very cold, lacked flavor and very disappointing. Then, while eating our entree, our deserts were delivered and sat at our table while we finished our meal. Overall, we were very disappointed with the entire experience.

    We had Thanksgiving dinner and my only criticism is the pumpkin pie was a step above Costco. The crust was commercial quality, the filling uninspiring. It was a disappointment.

    All the food was amazing except the vegetables(broccolini and carrots) that came with the entry - they were overcooked, cold and lacked seasoning. Service was very good and I am sure it would have been excellent if it was not extremely busy.

    The views are sensational and the space is nice. Food was just okay and expensive for the quality. Our service was prompt and courteous. Not a foodie's paradise but a great spot to enjoy a stellar view of Mt. Hood if the weather is clear.

    The meals were to be $69 each for thanksgiving. We added an appetizer for $25 and drinks. The meals were individually charged by course and their individual totals were more than the fixed price. I pointed it out to the waitress but she played dumb and did not make the appropriate adjustment. Feels dishonest and disrespectful.

    The menu was confusing. The Thanksgiving meal should have been at the top. When we read the menu and it said pick an item from all three offerings, we thought that meant a salad or soup, main meal and dessert. To our surprise the salad and soup and dessert were charged separately. Next time we will ask for clarification.
