   Was surprised how busy on a Monday night after mom’s day the place was .. and it was good but not for the $$ — tried to be upscale and didn’t make it happen .. nice view .. friendly staff though

   We have dined here several times, and they really did a great job with Mother’s Day. There was a three course tasting menu with various options to select. The food was delicious and the portion sizes were generous (we all had leftovers to take home). The views here speak for themselves. Our server was terrific and very personable. The only things I’d mention are there was no vegetarian option for the main course tasting menu, and the management is very creative about maximizing patron in the space available. We have had mixed experiences in the past but tonight was an especially good night , and we will be back again for special occasion meals.

   Everything was absolutely perfect!! The food was mouthwatering with the chefs are out of this world.

   I had a dear old friend and his wife in town. They had never been to the Portland City Grill, and I told them no visit to Portland is complete without a meal at the Portland City Grill. So we had a reservation at 6:45, arrived early so we could have a drink in the bar and wait for a "window table". It was worth the wait! The view was beautiful and the food (as always) was outstanding. My friend said that was the best steak he had ever had! Our server was perfect as well. We asked for the "add-on" crab cake to be served first as an appetizer, and he made it happen. He was also very attentive without be overbearing or "hovering". We ended up spending FIVE hours there, enjoying the food and catching up. Thank you for a GREAT experience! You made me look good!!!!

   Our first visit here. It was a great EXPIERENCE!! Our server was great, food was great. Perfect way to celebrate a special occasion even though it was prom night it was hectic or extremely busy. View was awesome. We will be coming back soon!!! Thank you

   It was noisy and crowded. The food was hit or miss. Some folks loved their meals, others at the table thought it was just ok or over spiced. The calamari was great. Creme brulee was good. The worst thing was the long wait for literally everything. I felt trapped there for over 2 hours waiting for each part of the meal. Gaps of like 20 to 30 minutes. We mostly drank water. It took forever for our bar drinks to arrive. Just so disappointing in almost every way.
