Fabulous Sunday brunch. We both ordered the crab cake Eggs Benedict. Yummy
We had a great server who gave good suggestions. Food was unique and very good. Would certainly recommend and return!
Food was average at best - but to be fair it was Raleigh Restaraunt week, so probably not the usual attention to quality they normally have.
Given that we book this reservation weeks ago prior to knowing it was restaurant week, our service was outstanding! We were nervous that it would be very busy and that potentially service would be subpar. Boy were we wrong! We had excellent service, the food was outstanding, and we will absolutely be back! Highly recommend the brussels sprouts and the arugula and fig salad with cured salmon.
Did not honor triangle restaurant week participation. Although many of the items for that were on their brunch menu, they clearly just wanted to charge more by only offering their brunch menu. We also watched as a table next to us received complimentary aperitifs but we were not offered any such.
The food was very good.
Apologies, but we did not advertise the Restaurant Week Brunch menu as being available Saturday and Sunday. All promotion and menus clearly stated this menu and pricing were available Tue-Fri. It has nothing to do with charging more. We tried to offer this in the past and learned that we simply don't have the kitchen capacity to run a multi-course menu for weekend brunch considering the volume of business that we handle. We hope that you understand and will consider revisiting us in the future.
Service was prompt, polite and gracious. We went for the Restaurant Week specials, but branched out a bit. The Shrimp and Grits were spicy and delicious! Good selection on beverages - a very nice evening!
Thanks for the kind words Frank! We're happy to hear you branched out with your selections. Our menu changes quite frequently, so we hope you visit us again next time you're feeling that same adventurous spirit. Cheers, Justin Gallus Owner
Came in for brunch and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Had an excellent selection on the menu and the service was outstanding.
The crab cake Eggs Benedict was exceptional. The shrimp and grits was also exceptional. We have a new favorite brunch location.
Great food as always. Nice selection for vegetarians and carnivores. Best brussell sprouts I have had!
We had a great experience here. The drinks were unique and delicious. The deviled eggs and perogies were our favorites. Figgy pudding and a fizzy lifting drink were the perfect pairing for dessert. We can't wait to go back.
Nice spot. Went for New Year's day brunch. I ordered the The Classic with cheddar grits. Everything was great. Free parking in the rear lot was a plus.
Wonderful spot. Had two kids with us and they were more than accommodating. Prompt, kind service team with amazing food. Highly recommend.
We have been going for several years on Christmas Day. Warm, friendly restaurant with excellent food and service. Steve, Justin, David, Chris and Stephanie were engaging and great hosts. We are regulars at this restaurant and have always enjoyed the menu options. We had the Flounder entree and the Lamb Osso Buco with an order of roasted brussel sprouts. For desert we had the apple cobbler with ice cream. Hats off to chef David as our entire meal was fantastic. Their cocktails by Chris and the wine pairings by Justin were spot on...
Special Christmas menu was varied and meal outstanding.
Christmas Day lunch. Food was pre-prepared and was on the table within a minute of ordering. Zero ambience. With drinks and dessert they had us in and out of there in less than an hour. It wasn’t even that busy so no idea why they wanted us in and out so quickly on a Christmas Day.
Prime rib was so-so. I thought it was tougher than it likely was. When I cut up leftovers to give to my dogs with my own steak knife I realized the steak knife I’d been given at the restaurant must have been dull.
First time visit, won’t go back again. Food was uninspired. Server Taylor was excellent.
Fantastic Christmas lunch!
We decided to find somewhere to enjoy a casual and comfortable Christmas lunch and could not of been happier then the experience at Plates. Every part of the experience was delightful, from the food to the service. I would love to experience this place again.
Our traditional go-to restaurant for Christmas. They never disappoint. Looking forward to our next meal at Plates.
Restaurant is nice and service was great. However food was only decent and pretty bland - at the price tag we would have expected the food to be more favorable. not a bad date spot but I will probably not be returning
Had a delicious meal at plates. Nice cocktails, yummy starters, and the mains were very enjoyable. Very solid night overall and would recommend
Every dish was memorable. From the crusty batard (where we were asked if we wanted olive oil or butter) through each dish we enjoyed. We started with sweet potato croquettes, served with a sinful butter, try not to eat it all! Then on to the succulent salmon slider, tastefully garnished with a bit of heat. Next a very fresh green salad with a remarkable light and mysteriously sweet dressing. We capped the meal with the chicken and prosciutto slider, savory and served on more delicious toasted slider buns. Had to take home the ratatouille and pita points to enjoy another day. We were happy and stuffed!
The spicy pimento goat cheese was SCRUMPTIOUS!!! And the Poison Apple...sooo good! A lovely spot for Sunday Brunch with friends!
Wasn’t what I expected When you hear it’s southern flare.
We were celebrating my husband’s birthday. It was pleasant and effortless. Our waitress was helpful and the food was excellent! Not our first time there and hopefully not our last!
We love Plates. The food is unusual and so flavorful. Great, friendly staff. Good wine and cocktails.
Great food! Nice selection of vegetarian options that are unique and taste great. My husband (carnivore) always loves his food.
Drinks are amazing too!
The Best managed restaurant on the street. perfect staff combined with a great menu.
Tried this restaurant during a business trip to Raleigh and had a very enjoyable experience! Delicious food and drinks, and very friendly service. Great value too. Highly recommend!
The overall experience was fantastic. The staff is so pleasant and the food and amazing! Would highly recommend everyone going to eat at Plates Kitchen!!
Delicious cocktails, very nice charcuterie platter, gracious service.
I liked the old Plates so much better. The dinner menu has drastically changed with their new chef, who I understand is already planning to leave. It’s still a limited menu, and the new entrees don’t appeal to me.
Brunch was amazing and well worth any wait!!!
This was my first time at Plates and it was great service, wide variety of drinks and food was very good!
I love the food here, it’s comfort food but creatively and expertly done. The Brussels sprouts are the best in town. A great place for brunch!
Good food and great service
Great food, wonderful service!
Plates is a wonderful restaurant for foodies. We all thoroughly enjoyed our food in the beautiful patio area. We highly recommend this restaurant.
We experienced a lovely dinner on the patio. The food was fabulous and so was the service. The staff was very attentive to all of our needs. We were able to engage in people watching and heard great music from across the street!
Great neighborhood restaurant offering attentive service and delicious food. Brunch is a must do!
Food was amazing, service was prompt. Friend really enjoyed his waffles. Was wondering why cheeseboard came in a bowl but menus were on a board. Love the place.
