   I have been here several times and the food never disappoints. I love their changing menu because I always get to try something new when I go. Also the sticky toffee pudding is the best thing to exist!

    This was on my “must try” list for some time now and I finally made a reservation for lunch on Mother’s Day. I was duly impressed with the service. Our reservation was scheduled at 3 (at which time the brunch ended and dinner began) my daughter was running a few minutes late and the manager made it a point to visit our table and let us know the chefs would still prepare us brunch if we wanted. In addition the food was fresh and delicious! We ordered a salad and appetizer before our entrees. We enjoyed a crafted cocktail and the server was very attentive and delightful. I almost failed to mention - kid friendly! I highly recommend Plates!

    Our food was delicious. The presentation was beautiful. The staff was friendly and helpful. This was my second time visiting the restaurant. I will absolutely return. I love that the food is locally sourced. I would not hesitate to recommend Plates to friends. It is a great place for a special meal or just to get some great food at a great price.

    Dining at Plates Kitchen, is like enjoying a meal with family! Plates Kitchen is second to none! We enjoyed the Beef Tenderloin & the Salmon entree’s. We are regulars at Plates for a good reason, a better dining experience doesn’t exist! Justin & Chef David, you continue to execute at the highest levels! Thanks again!

    We utilized the outside dining area. I would only recommended the outside seating for parties larger than 2 because the inside was very small. Overall food was great, a little pricey and took a while to come out. I would definitely go back to try something else.

    What a fun evening! Great food, friendly servers and a wonderful vibe! The restaurant across the street had a live band & all their doors/windows open, so that was a little loud. But I would go back here in a heartbeat!!!

    Went to plates for the first time with one of my girlsfriends for a Sunday brunch. Our server Natalie was super friendly and made the best recommendations. The drinks were refreshing and the food was great! If you go ask for Natalie she is joy and makes the whole experience all the more enjoyable!

    We have been there twice and absolutely love every single meal that we get there. Every week they change the menu and it’s perfect. Perfect date night food. Cannot wait to go back there. Their dessert is amazing. Very attentive staff. Love love this place

    Location is excellent just in the middle of downtown Raleigh, there is also ample private pay parking behind the building. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, drinks are well made and food portions are just perfect. The menu is only one page but I believe they change it often according to seasonal items. Either way, this is a must place to dine for special occasions or just to have a good time with friends and family. I recommend sitting outside if the weather permits.

    As a neighbor, I go often, so my review might be a little biased. Plates is a great neighborhood restaurant serving great food with a great outdoor dining area. Always has a well trained staff, and chef Mitchell has a great brunch and dinner menu. Never go to Saturday or Sunday brunch without a reservation. They are always packed.

    We will not be going back. It took 45 minutes for my husband to get his very simple mixed drink. Our entire party of 5 only ordered 1 drink each because of how slow the service was. Our waitress was super nice and attentive however it really turned us off to this establishment.

I will explore more into this issue to determine what happened. I understand the Manager did stop by your table and address any confusion on drink choices made and items we were sold out of for the night. I believe we gave your group a substitute app for free and provided 2 birthday desserts for free. We apologize again and do hope to see you in the future.

    Unfortunately, this was our second visit and it just did not live up to the hype. First of all, there was chewed gum inside of one our napkins (that the silverware was wrapped in), then our water glasses smelled dirty. We requested new glasses and they seemed fine. My husband ordered the B.E.C. sandwhich and it was very simple, but fine. I ordered a salad and added shrimp. For a $20 salad I was highly disappointed. The salad, itself, was just a small bed of plain arugula (think the size of your palm), with minimal toppings. The grilled shrimp were basically the shrimp from shrimp cocktail, but much smaller and chewy. We really wanted to like this place because the reviews were just amazing - sadly, it missed the mark.

    This was one of Plates’ special pairing dinners, where an alcoholic beverage is paired with specifically prepared courses. Tonight’s pairing featured five courses with different types of mead. Excellent!

    The special dinner and mead pairing event was absolutely fantastic. I had to go solo for this experience and was still treated respectfully and fully like everyone else. The event paired food, mead, and a special host to chat about the foods and drinks as a combination in the context of history, while also providing answers to questions while we dined. Plates did a fantastic job of presenting courses in a timely and seamless way, and I extra appreciated being able to chat with the folks running the show to know more about other offerings and events in the space, as well as their normal operations. This is all sugar on top of the fact that the food itself was phenomenal and made with extreme care and appreciation for the mead pairing.

    Enjoyed the special Mead Dinner Pairing. Chef David never disappoints with his menu. The room could get a bit noisy as everyone talked amongst themselves, but the the experience was enjoyable and I look forward to them doing another one. Bring back the mead with more variety!
