Restaurant week. It was a great experience and the food was phenomenal. Loved the restaurant week menu had plentiful options.
Great value as Raleigh restaurant week. $35 for a three course meal 4 apps, 4 entrees and a nice sell of desserts. Excellent service.
Reservations are definitely a must, especially during Restaurant Week. Several patrons were encouraged to come back later when the restaurant could accommodate "walk-ins." The food delicious and specialty cocktail were delicious.
We went for the first time for restaurant week. Dinner was a simple but great 3 course meal. The tuna appetizer was too salty but they made up for it with the tenderloin and toffee pudding. Great atmosphere and quality service. We will be back again.
All of our experiences when we dine at Plates, are always the same, absolutely perfect! All restaurants should be jealous of Plates, they have earned my favorite status.
Plates is the best restaurant in Raleigh. The staff, owner, and Chef are so invested in the experience, food, and cocktails and you can truly tell. Every time we come here, we’re ready to come back!
Best bolognese I’ve ever tasted. The salmon (and that awesome lentil, pepper, artichoke, burre blanc setup) were perfect!
Wonderful food and service. We will definitely return.
Everything was excellent and pleasantly surprised by pickled grapes on charcuterie/cheese board. Ate an earlier dinner which was partly why it was so quiet. The waitress was fabulous and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!
I took my mom to the symphony for a Christmas present and stopped at Plates for brunch first. I’m so glad we did! Top to bottom, a fantastic dining experience. We will most definitely be back!
Service was immaculate, definitely gave you your privacy while also making sure you were attended to, my server recommended the Duck and it was simply the best food I’ve ever eaten. The environment was also very classy, our table was candle lit with fresh flowers. More than happy with the overall experience and will be coming back
Food is so good! Everyone in our party enjoyed their meal and the restaurant.
Plates is consistently top notch! It's a must try if you're in the Raleigh area.
My group went to Plates for the first time for the prix-fixe NYE dinner. Some of the courses like the filet and the amuse-bouche were outstanding. The filet melted in your mouth and was cooked perfectly. However, one of the courses – the shrimp tortellini – was not liked by any of the four people who tried it. It was relatively flavorless and had a strong fish smell, which seemed like a big miss on a fixed menu.
Excellent 4 course menu for New Years Eve. Just do not recommend seafood dishes but everything was else was delicious and the wine pairings and cocktails were out of this world.
Poor experience… They accepted a 215p reservation. When we were seated we were told that we had to order right away because the kitchen was closing in 10 minutes. We should have left. The food was OK. The Bloody Mary was not good.
AMAZING! Always great food, great vibe, great service!
$3 mimosa glasses or $15 carafe. Food was exceptional! Shared a charcuterie board and shrimp and grits and no complaints.
We had a great Christmas dinner here. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a wonderful meal, friendly and attentive wait staff and overall fabulous experience. We will definitely eat at Plates again.
There was something minor wrong with each dish, one appetizer was simply never brought to the table and our server started out great and went downhill at the end. We waited 25 minutes between dinner and dessert for no reason and then had a significant wait for the check to be able to leave. There were only a few diners so it was not due to her being too busy. Last but not least, I was terribly excited about three items on their special Christmas menu and of course they were out of all three.
A real gem...excellent food and service (plus they're open on Christmas Day)!
We have been dining at Plates Kitchen since it opened a number of years ago. We have never been disappointed. The food and service are wonderful. Yesterday - Christmas Day, our friends and us had excellent appetizers (Apple Salad, Mushroom Bisque and Beet/Salmon Tartare. Our entrees (Duck, Pork Osso Bucco, Trout and the Shrimp Fettuccine were all spectacular. We ended the meal with the Figgy Pudding it cannot be beat.
Service was wonderful, very attentive. Everything we ordered was delicious, from the cocktails to appetizers and entrees. Thank you for a wonderful Christmas dinner!
I am very grateful for the staff who worked on Christmas Day and gave us another option for a holiday meal. Our server was the best, so friendly and knowledgeable! The service was a little slow but they had a lot of customers and I didn't mind since I was so comfortably seated outside. I chose the suggested wine pairing with the excellect trout and was delighted with it. The Apple Cobbler for dessert was terrific, probably the best that I can remember having even if I'm not a fan of mascarpone. Great job everybody!
Eating Christmas dinner at plates has become a family tradition. Loved everything about it, the freshness and flavors of their food is unbelievable. Craft sodas are great! Service always wonderful!
It’s Christmas Day and limited places to eat out and to our surprise- “Plates” was serving up delicious ones for us!! It was our first time and it won’t be our last! This was more than delicious. It was a culinary master class of flavors, textures and artistry. The food was fresh, different and filling!!
Great food & drinks, impressive service. Justin & Taylor were phenomenal. Looking forward to coming back soon.
Christmas brunch was delicious! Definitely will be back!
The service was fantastic! I just wish the food was a bit hotter.
Perfect way to start my Christmas Day!! Food was awesome
We had Christmas Eve dinner at Plates. Everything was so perfect. Two of us had the trout and the others had the black garlic linguini. Our dinners were delicious and Rea our server was excellent and really on top of things. Plates never disappoints. Highly recommend.
Maybe they were
Very limited menu even for someone that is a vegetarian. The pour didn't seem consistent and in our opinion was a bit less than we would expect for the charge per glass. My husband had the charcuterie board which was delicious and quite sufficient in portion. We took much of the cheese, nuts and bread home to eat the next day. I had shrimp and grits which was good too. Not sure I would rate it 4.8, though.
Plates was amazing. Had to move my reservation back 30 minutes and they accommodated perfectly. Ambiance, vibe, and food were amazing! Will definitely be back soon!
Birthday. Great food. Fish was pricy. Otherwise very exquisite
Great food, amazing service and great drinks. Love this place!
As always, The food is excellent, the wine list extensive and well-chosen, and the environment enjoyable!
Some of the best service my wife and I have had in a very long time. Very friendly hostess and server. We were able to be moved from bar seating to a table. Harissa carrots as an app was wonderful. All courses were wonderful. We will come back again when in the Raleigh area.
The service was on point. The drinks were great and the food was fantastic.
