Overall, the food was above average. But compared to cuisine we've enjoyed at 100s of restaurants in over three dozen countries and every state, the price was way out of range for the quality. We've eaten in Paris, Rome, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Oslo, Helsinki, Stockholm, Nairobi, Cape Town, Chicago, New York, LA, Anchorage, etc. and can get the same quality for a much more reasonable price. That would be the biggest complaint. Other than the one particular wait staff with ZERO sense of humor. So we will recommend the restaurant to friends/family with the caveat that it is overpriced.

My husband and I had a wonderful first time experience at the Pepper Tree. We went to celebrate a special occasion and had wonderful service. We loved everything from the moment we walked in, everyone was so pleasant. It was a true team effort to serve us and make sure we were satisfied. The food was delicious, brought out at the perfect times and fresh! We really enjoyed everything we had: Started out with french onion soup, lobster bisque soup, then the house salads with the dill vinaigrette, the steak Diane, the Oscar special and the apple pie-they were all delicious!!! The gin and tonics and my red wine choice were also great. The sauce that the steak Diane was smothered in was to die for. We really enjoyed our experience, we had a nice table at the window facing the city. We will definitely be back!

Was birthday dinner from my girlfriend. The spinach salad was amazing, would highly recommend. Her steak diane was delicious. I ordered the bone in ribeye special. I was actually a little disappointed, it was extremely fatty (more than normal), tough, and really kinda bland without much seasoning and flavor. We didnt end up having dessert.

This is a fabulous place to celebrate something special. Don't bother listening to the specials, or looking at the menu. The ONLY thing to order is their Pepper Steak. It is so good, you don't need a steak knife, and the meat just melts in your mouth.

The second we walked in the service was very nice. The staff was very polite and offered to take our coats. throughout the experience the staff was consistently nice.
The food however was mediocre at best. We started with a crab cake appetizer which arrived a little under-cooked and too thick for our liking, and I'm a food snob so I could tell that somewhere along the way to our table it sat out a little too long.
For the main course I ordered the classic 6 oz. pepper steak with a loaded baked potato and the potato arrived without butter (huge mistake). The steak was cooked table-side and right from the start I could tell the flame was to high, sure enough my steak was slightly burnt on the outside and slightly raw on the inside. Lucky for me I kinda like it that way.
My wife ordered the salmon and although she did ask for it to be cooked thoroughly it was dry and she described the glaze like a hardened candy. And she described the rice that came with it was just rice.
The bread we were served prior to the whole meal was also not very good. something was just not right with it.
For the price we expected MUCH more.

Best steak (seasoned and cooked to perfection) and french onion soup we’ve ever had! We’ve been in Colorado for 30 + years and this was our first visit to The Peppertree but it won’t be our last! The service was top notch! Atmosphere was nice however there was a table of approximately 6 people behind us who were quite loud and there was a lot of cackling going on! ....(glad they were having fun) but it took away from our idea of a quiet and romantic evening - however this is of no fault of the restaurant or staff! We will definitely return and recommend The Peppertree to family and friends.

Pepper Tree was the perfect spot for a celebration. The views are lovely and the food was delicious. Tableside steak prep was great and the steaks were cooked perfectly. Dessert was disappointing so next time I'll skip it but the meal was still worth the price. We will definitely go again.

OUTSTANDING service and food! Atmosphere is cozy and the table-side preparation on some menu items is fun to watch! I’ve NEVER had a better steak than Peppertree’s Steak Diane! In my opinion, it’s THE BEST steak and service in town!

I took my wife here for an early valentines dinner. As we entered, there was a gentleman behind the counter who took our coats and hat. All of the servers were dressed in tuxedos. They were all very pleasant and eager to serve. At first I felt a little under dressed in my nice button up shirt and slacks but quickly noticed a lot of other customers in similar attire. After that, I felt very comfortable. We were about 20 minutes early to our 6:00 reservation but they seated us immediately. The food was absolutely amazing! I got the ribeye special and my wife got something off the menu. Her meal was one that was to be cooked at the table. Various staff worked on her meal. It was a well timed out team effort. We both asked for our beef to be medium rare and it was perfect. The rue that they made with her steak was amazing! Our water glasses were kept full. My wife asked what the best wine would be for desert. The gentleman very humbly said that he didn’t know wine well and got the bartender for us. She was very knowledgeable in the wines and suggested a port. My wife couldn’t decide and asked the bartender to choose for her. Obviously her choice was perfect because it went gloriously with the desert. We had planned on spending about $300 before the tip and thought that’s what it would come to. It was only $250. That included an appetizer to share, two soups that were excellent, our main dishes that included a salad, main course and a side, two deserts and she got a glass of wine and a port and I got a cognac. The only improvement, which wouldn’t deter me ever from recommending the pepper tree, would be to play some soft music in the background. We will return, and bring friends with us when we can. Thank you, everyone at pepper tree for making the evening memorable for my wife and I.
Last thing...there was no feeling of rushing. The evening went slow and deliberate. Everything was spaced out perfectly. From the drinks to the desert and the bill.
