Patty's Place Ratings and Reviews
It was Tuesday, so there weren’t quite making the effort they do on the weekend. We all had seafood - Chilean sea bass, sand dabs, & swordfish... no one raved about their food so it was just “Ok”, the baked potatoes were good as always. Service was slow but as I said it was Tuesday. We will give it another try another time - as we know folks who think it’s worth going....
We ordered appetizers, Bacon Wrapped shrimp, Escargot. Very generous with fresh sour dough bread. We did a split plate on Rib eye. Additional $6.00. Small baked potato (just ok) , fresh asparagus spears (just okay).
Disappointment in the steak. Great steak. However, because it was a split plate, the steak was not "allowed to rest before it was "split". Red meat juice (myoglobin) was all over the plate, creating a very wet surfaced meal!!
Delicious steak, spoiled by its own juices.
Learned from this experience. I think Ill ask to split our own steak next time.
We ended up sitting at the bar for dinner since there was a delay with our table and we were treated like royalty! The drinks are generous, Chuck the bartender is very personable and the food (sea bass) was one of the best we EVER had! The grilled shrimp appetizer is also amazing!
Went to Patty's for the first time in many years and it still had the old time feel. Was surprised to see the attire was very casual, i.e. Shorts and flip flops. Crowd is definitely the older locals who love coming to see friends and familiar faces. One bartender all evening and he did a good job. Our waiter was great, as well as punctual, and not overly attentive. He allowed us to take our time. The food was above average. Most entrees came with veggies and a potato side. No salad. Chilean sea bass was a very tasty but a very small portion. Sand dabs were good too. The prime rib was very fatty and chewy and almost inedible. Overall, I would probably say it wasn't the best dining experience we've had. No wow factor for sure. Left there feeling like it was just ok. All four of us felt the same way.
Patty's Place is beginning to be our go-to place to eat! Everything we've had has been excellent except for my sand dabs last week. They were so greasy that, that was all I could taste. I definitely won't have that again but there are lots of items that sound very tempting. You can't win them all!
We love Patty's place and always wonder why we don't come more often! The ambiance, food and service is always great! Ali, as usual, was attentive, friendly and professional and we usually try to request her if she is working. All the food is delicious, but the bread pudding is to die for and a must try. All the locals know what a gem it is, which is why they usually crowd to the bar up front. They are always welcoming to those of us who don't come as often, but I sure wish I could call it my local watering place and hangout too! Always a good night out and never a disappointment! Highly recommend!
All three entrees were perfectly prepared. We had the shrimp scampi, the lamb chops, and the steamed lobster. Everyone enjoyed their meals thoroughly. Service was impeccable. Any changes we wanted to our entrées were made without a problem. Cocktails were excellent. Dessert, the chocolate layered cake, hit the spot.
Always a special experience in my 20 years of dining at Patty's. Regardless if its a quick business lunch or a special occasion, you will not be disappointed in the service, food and ambiance and if you are lucky enough to visit with Patty for a few minutes during your visit, she will make you feel as though you are part of the family and in fact your are!
My wife and I have been going to Patty's since we moved to the area in the early 2000s.
The new ownership has retained the charm and atmosphere that Patty has created. The high quality of the cuisine remains constant.
The prices have also increased. But that has happened in virtually every restaurant due to sharp increases in the cost of labor in California.
Patty 's will continue to be on Saturday ur list of favorites.
Mothers Day!! Horrible food....Uncooked fish (halibut) , the bread around the edges on my Pastrami was hard. Service was lacking. I heard others complain about the wait for the food.
This was not the Pattys Place it used to be with the previous owners. It used to be classy, great food, terrific atmosphere and there was always someone checking to make sure you were well taken are of. It's obvious the big chain guys have moved in. I'll never go back. Don't waste your time or money, it sucks!!
I have dinner here at least 20 times and This used to be a quality restaurant and a great dining experience. Since the new owner Barry took over , they don't welcome you , he never checks up on you, he yells to his friends from across the Resturante , one of us ordered sand dabs that arrived like Fish and Chips fried for $27.00, lol. Now the food is bland and it used to be excellent when Patty owned it . Its very expensive! We will be going to Walts or Jacks from now on where you get a good quality mean that is reasonably priced.
